The Adventures of Sir Grrgul'grrgl, Murloc Knight and Warrior of the Light!

In this adventure, our intrepid Murloc Knight sets off from his boggy home at Crystal Lake in Elwynn after hearing word of the foreboding darkness which has befallen the forests of Duskwood.

Ever heroic, Grrgul seeks to remain true to the vows he made that fateful day this past week when the blessed lady of the Crystal Lake arose from its shallow depths and bestowed upon him the Helm of Valor swearing upon pain of death to defend the innocent against the terrible forces of darkness. Taking up the Shield of Light and the Mace of Penance he shall carry forth the Light of Truth to shine its brilliance upon this foul darkness.

And so he bids farewell to his beloved home astride the back of his reliable mount the fearsome and crafty Shadow-Cat Coolbreeze in defense of the helpless innocent of Darkshire.

The woods were exceptionally dark that day.

Grrgul stalked silently through the forest astride Coolbreeze. Beady eyes illuminated in the darkness blinked at the fearless pair as they crept between the trees, through the tall grass and over a small hill. In the distant bushes something stirred. Coolbreeze froze in her tracks, ever mindful of the Murloc Knight's own instincts. Yes, watch and wait what surprise is concealed within the bushes yonder across the small glen. Together they waited in the stillness, two mighty wills linked as one.

It was not long before a huge beast lumbered out of the bushes. Branches snapped and twigs popped as the creature slowly removed itself from the bramble. First one large paw with claws long and wickedly curved. Then another, each attached to thick arms shrouded in dark fur.

It reared its massive head! Eyes, wide and yellow, glaring into the darkness peering tentatively with each lumbering step. Its head swung from side to side at the end of a long powerfully thick neck sniffing the air.

*sniff*
*sniff*

It paused. The beast could smell them, Grrgul could tell. It was again confirmed with a quiver of anticipation from his trusty steed. His own beast was fearsome and mighty, yet she heeded to the Knight's cooly honed instincts. These Worgen usually travel in packs, and where there is one...

A smaller form rolled out from the brush. It was a fully matured Worgen. Proportionally accurate. Yet the creature was in some way stunted. What he lacked greatly in stature however he more than made up for with cunning and force of will.

The little worgen sprang to its feet and turned this way and that also peering into the darkness. Perhaps they were on the prowl for something else altogether. The little one turned and snapped at the bigger, and not surprisingly the bigger complied with a wince and a whine. This one, this Little Bad Wolf was in charge.

Grrgul gripped the fur of his Shadow-Cat steed, ready for combat. The Murloc Knight dropped the end of his mace for there was a Penance to be paid!

This Little Bad Wolf wasn't to blame for the darkness that infested lower Elwynn, but surely this Mastermind was in some form an integral part of this dastardly dark scheme. He may not have been the spreader of Darkness and Ill throughout the Duskwoods, but he would know who was and this Little Bad Beastie would pay dearly for his crimes!

“HEEYA!” Grrgul screamed whirling his weapon in the air. Astride hIs faithful Shadow-Cat mount Coolbreeze they leaped from their hiding and together the two engaged the scoundrels in single combat!

The fearless Knight leaped through the air from his mounts back swinging his mace down with a mighty blow, but the little beastie was spry. The Little Bad Wolf darted back avoiding the potentially life ending blow.

Now standing face to face Grrgul could see that this Little Bad Wolf wasn't in fact all that little. He stood easily a head taller than the heroic knight with shoulders wide and limbs rippling with sinewy muscle. The beast poised and attacked the knight. Grrgul bringing his shield to bare in time to deflect the creatures flurry of blows. Claws raked across the metal shield again and again, right, left, then right again in quick succession. Grrgul the Knight had barely the fortitude to withstand the onslaught!

Could it be our hero has over estimated his foe?
Will this adventure come to its end just as soon as it began?

In our last episode,

Our intrepid murloc had been ordained by a mysterious lady of the crystal lake with powers of light and called as a holy knight to defend the helpless and innocent wherever they may be found.

Sir Grrgul'grrgl had set off to Darkshire astride his noble shadow-cat steed, Coolbreeze, sensing the darkness that had befallen good people of the town. While passing through the Duskwoods our heroes are beset upon by a pair of ne'er-do-well worgen.

Pitched in single combat, will our heroes survive this deadly encounter?

Sir Grrgul parried left and the little bad wolf stumbled from his reckless onslaught.

Now was his chance.
Now he would have the upper hand!

“LIGHT, GIVE ME STRENGTH!”

The Murloc Knight roared a battle cry. He jabbed with his shield, catching the little bad wolf's jaw with its edge. The force of the blow sent the creature to the ground, but no sooner did the little beast make contact then he rebounded to his feet.

The mighty knight was ready. Swinging his chain linked mace in a wide arc, the mace head found its home against the little worgen. Spinning in the air from the force of the blow, the little bad wolf landed face down in the grass. Stunned cold.

Feeling a surge of might Sir Grrgul turned to where his shadow-cat had engaged the larger query, that he might aid his noble steed.

He beamed with pride to find his steed, Coolbreeze, sitting casually, cleaning her paws, watching the holy knight subdue his enemy.

“Ha-hah! I see behind you the prostrate body of your vanquished foe!” The knight beamed proudly and exclaimed “HAZZAH!”.

Coolbreeze paused the cleaning of her paws and nodded behind the mighty murloc knight. Sir Grrgul turned to find the little bad wolf limping off into the weeds. The creature turned, shaking his fist at the murloc knight with a dire warning.

“This isn't the last you've seen of me, Smelly Murloc! I'll get you! You and your silly cat!”

The knight slid his mace handle home at his belt and held his shield aloft exclaiming with verbose pride.

“FOOL!
Sir Grrgul'grrgl! THAT is my name!
Murloc Knight!
Warrior of the Light!
Defender of the Innocent and Helpless!
Blessed of a Lady of Crystal Lake!"

"But You, you little bad wolf, you may call me none of these!”

“You may only know me as your Nemesis! For where you lurk in the shadows, I will be there! I will beam the light of the ever illuminating truth to reveal you! And with my trusty mace named Penance I shall rain down swift justice upon thee!”

Bursting with pride in himself and in his beloved steed for the battle they had won, our heroic knight turned to the shadow-cat. Gripping her fur as she bound past the fearless murloc swung himself upon her back.

Together, Mighty Knight and Fearsome Mount, the pair continued their journey through the dusky woods on their way to lend aid to the good people of Darkshire.

For where there is Light, Darkness may not dwell.
