The red swirling magics of the Dark Portal churn menacingly in the distance, the old stone archway glowing with a heated intensity once again. Grim memories of the dangerous and deadly expedition to Outland almost a decade ago entered the stoic mind of Champion Ina’thia Dawnblade as she stood on the mountainside with her Lieutenant Commander. The Phoenix Guard had seen its fair share of action and danger, but this was sure to rise to the top of the list.
“Have you said your goodbyes, Ronaestrider?” the Blood Knight asks softly, her plated boots firmly planted in the red scorched earth.
Ruthar simply nods, his fel-green eyes glowing with a heated intensity of anticipation. He glances to his right at the newly appointed Captain Felicia Dawnstar. “And you, Dawnstar?” he asks inquisitively, his hands wrapped tightly around his trusted bow Ana’dal. The stoic Captain merely nods once, her eyes transfixed upon the portal as she analyzes the forces below. Members of all of Azeroth had collected here to defend the world they cherish, called upon by the legendary Archmage Khadgar, the powerful shaman Thrall, and Vindicator Maraad, the beacon of Draenic power.
The three leaders of the Phoenix Guard stood there on the crest of the hill as they continued to peer at the Portal. This was were they would finally strike this Iron Horde down or die trying - a mission of seeming impossibility set before them as they rushed to face whatever stood behind that massive structure.
Champion Dawnblade turns around to find the complete ranks of her Phoenix Guard at the ready, their looks of stern determination all the fuel she needed to make the call to charge. “Sunwell guide us,” Ruthar whispers to the pair of leaders as they stand before their comrades of the Thalassian military as they wait for the final order.
Ina’thia nods simply. “We’re going to need it.”

Hello everyone and welcome to the Warlords of Draenor expansion! The <Phoenix Guard> has been busy preparing for their departure through the Dark Portal, and the time to face the Iron Horde has finally come. The Guard will be temporarily split into two teams: those who are risking it all and heading to Draenor and those who will be remaining in QuelThalas to protect the homeland in case things go horribly awry.
On Sunday, November 23rd (canonically the 13th to coincide with lore events), the Guard will be saying goodbye to Azeroth and each other as the suicide team heads into the Dark Portal, severing contact with their comrades remaining on Azeroth. Those who remain will be desperately trying to make contact with their friends trapped beyond the portal while those in Draenor will fight for their survival against both the Iron Horde and the unknown natives of this savage world.
If you are interested in joining our ranks, the time is now! Whether you are looking for a new home for your character, are returning from a WoW hiatus, or seeking a new direction for this marvelous expansion, we would love to hear from you.
