Is this realm good for RP?

Hello! I am thinking about playing on this realm but was curious about something. Whenever I made a toon on this server in the past, I haven't seen any RP. Not one in Stormwind City. And when I asked trade chat about it, they all said this is no longer a RP realm. I have a feeling they are lying but wanted to make sure. Is the RP mostly within guilds? Thank you and have a great evening.

I personally love it here. The community is close-knit and for the most part, everybody gets along with everybody. Granted, some don't, but that's everywhere you go.

We're a smaller RP server, with a smaller, more intimate RP community. Trade chat is used mostly by non-RPers here, instead we as RP players use.
/join Allianceooc
/join Hordeooc

Those two channels to communicate. We have guild RP, and friend RP as huge factors. Alliance has a slightly stronger community, and a big hangout is/was the Blue Recluse tavern in the Mage district of Stormwind.

We look forward to meeting you!

In my personal experience playing on this server for about 4-5 months, the community is close knit, which can be intimidating to a newbie if you are joining up alone (I had transferred here because of friends).

The server is run based in events, guilds tend to be much smaller than what the two major RP servers are that is true, however all major guilds work together in said events.

Back in my day Horde rp was even smaller, I am not sure if that changed with the inclusion of the SIsters of Elune server, I got a Orc Warrior to 90 to explore that side.

I strongly recommend the server if you wish a structured, "laid back" RP experience as in a RP with that is scheduled or started via OoC dates and hours in a smaller, quieter server. Sometimes that is just what you need.

Quality of RP was always high while I was here as well.

As Tyvian pointed out you need to join one of the OOC channels to connect with other RPers. SoE/CC is largely segregated between its RP players and non-RP players which could be a good or bad thing depending on your interests.

Arogus is correct in that much of the RP done here is based on events. Typically one of the more active RP guilds will host an event and other RPers from a variety of different guilds (if they even belong to a guild) will attend. Thus you need not worry about actually joining one of the larger guilds in order to participate in any RP. These events are almost always open to all.

With all this said though you must realize that SoE/CC has a fraction of the population of Moon Guard and Wyrmwrest Accord. Random RP is a lot harder to come by and, with the exception of the Blue Recluse tavern in SW, can really only be found in CRZ zones like Silvermoon City and Darnassus. Both factions also have about three different weekly events with typically six to twelve players attending any given one. However we are a friendly bunch and willing to set up RP sessions on the side, or even meet up for some RP on the spot, via the OOC channels.

How is the Horde community here? I am seeking to move this toon elsewhere.

Quieter than A-side, but it is there. We have Da Doctas clinic in Thunder Bluff on...Tuesday, if I remember correctly, and the lounge night at Hardwrench Hideaway in the Cape of Stranglethorn on Saturday. If you're an East Coaster like me, this stuff'll run fairly late.

I did had some Horde Rp interactions back in 2012 in this server, it was friendlier to what I was used to in my old server.

I'm looking to explore the RP with this new character I have, right now I see several people on the OoC chat excited for the expansion, I'm sure some events are bound to happen.

I think most people are in the levelling craze at the moment, which is why we're a week out (counting the downtime, heh) and people already shifting focus to level 100 stuff.
