Plainswander was beat, eyes crossing with fatigue, salt air etching lines into his lips, and thirst driving him near to distraction. And yet, for all this, he was absurdly buoyant, filled with a feeling of sheer success. Ground won he might be, drawn out and wan from his labors, but lot was all about to pay off.
Ever since coming to Draenor, the fun loving druid had had his eye on a certain item. A special something, sure, to anyone else it was just a shovel, but to Plainswander it was a call back to the best days of his youth. Glorious sun-soaked days when he'd been clueless and carefree, wandering the wide grasslands of the barrens. Yeah, those had been good times. And the gardeners in his Garrison were selling shovels that brought all those memories back, so of course he had to have one.
The big tauren crested the final rise, his Garrison finally in sight across the frozen wasteland. Whoever decreed that air travel in Draenor was a no-no had some SERIOUS answering to do. His mount was as exhausted as he was, and the creaking leather sack towed behind them was leaving a stinking trail of ocean flavored gore across the pristine white snow.
When he staggered through the gates, Leo and Goldmane were there immediately...damn cats, they must have scented the cargo from miles away. What Plainswander wasn't quite prepared for though was Leeroy standing there next to the cats, wearing a look that clearly said "I smell chicken" (something about that Paladin was really not right...).
"C'mon guys, help me unload. And NO NIBBLIN', this here ain't chow, I'll git ya yas vittles later on...now Move it!"
The three hopefuls snorted and went about their duties. Plainswander was convinced 2/3rds of his garrison was hopelessly insane, after all, a far larger than expected number of them were humans, or Ogrish, or Arrakoa, or Draenei, or feline, or ...whatever.... Phylarch was. But they all got their jobs done, and they'd all come together to rain holy terror on any invaders, so he supposed he couldn't complain overmuch.
Plains finished hauling the load back to the gardens, carefully bypassing the fishing shack (those trolls kept offering to tell him about Nat, but then NOT DOING IT...ha ha ha guys, really funny..), and ceremoniously dumped it in front of Tarnon....
"Awright ya dang slavedriver, I got yer same sea bugs..all 100 of em....and they'r the enormous ones too, just like ya asked, no, make with the dang shovel!"
Tarnon just looked at plains for a minute, and then a slow smile spread across his face, followed by an enormous guffaw......
"Sea Bugs? And you believed me? Oh Commander, those trolls were right, you have been out in the cold too long...no, sir, we need SEEDS..not fish..."
"wait wut? yer telling me you deliberately....why I oughtta.....you.....low down...I'LL GIVE YA SEEDS YA INSUFFERABLE GIT."
Tarnon was barely able to get his laughter under control before vines exploded from the ground under his feet and carried him swiftly skyward.
Later that day, atop the town center....
Zog: so....screwed up and made the boss angry?
Tarnon: ....*sigh*....yup, who knew druids had that much of a temper?
So, after one epically absurd day of fishing, I now have 100 enormous Sea Scorpions, anyone want some sea bugs?
