I applied to the L.O. a long time ago. A few months passed with no responses so I dropped the page from my favorites thinking my app got passed over. I checked it today and saw that someone did actually answer me. Seeing how I couldn't think of any better way to grab a member, Here is the thread.

These guys seem like a pretty stout bunch. They've been together for long before WoW and play as a true team, something 95%+ of WoW players have no concept of.

Heh, no real offense intended. OOC I've got nuthin but good will towards the LO. As you say, they've been around forever. They're probably the strongest "bad guy" guild on CC, that I know of.

For all my IC misgivings as well, its nothing but the best OOC. You can tell good roleplayers from bad by how much you like them in spite of your character.

What's with the downvotes? Is this forum not a way for RPers to get in touch with each other and talk about things on the server?

You're okay with guilds recruiting here but not ok with a player looking for a guild?

Actually stuff tends to get downvoted here a lot, regardless of contex or content. Also, you might want to be careful about dismissing people, as people tend to have a lot of alts, and some could be in the guild you're trying to apply to. You're also being borderline insulting in your dismissal of people here, which may not bode well for your application, since many of us have friends and acquaintances in LO.

I didn't understand the down votes either :/ I did upvote to try and equal things out.

If the comments were anything close to positive my reply would have been completely different. Yet the comments were not only negative in nature, but also seemed to be making fun of the guild I was trying to get in touch with. While I am in no way affiliated with L.O., I believe any group that has been together for over 10+ years has to be a decent one and is worthy of defense. My intention was not to offend, but to defend.

Thank you. I try to remain civil and respectful at all times, however, some people on this game are not fit to receive such treatment.

Assumptions without knowing the intent behind them will get you nowhere. Yes, every single comment was making fun of the guild. Because that's honestly been a part of it for a loooong time. It's called heckling. It's also called something that happens in a fairly close knit community. If you really wish to get in touch with them I would suggest hunting one down in game instead of making assumptions, making rude remarks based on said assumptions and then trying to defend it when called on it.

We have an ooc channel, it's REALLY easy to find, and a few minutes poking around in there would probably even net you Imperon himself. Try it sometime. And as Temp said, don't dismiss people just because they might not be wearing the guild tag you're looking for, chances are all that will get you is a helping of your own foot with a side of the calf as well.

I didn't mention this before because it seemed obvious... But sending in game mail is a sure way to get a hold of someone who plays regularly.

Maybe you just didn't think of it? *Shrugs*

It's much more sure than a forum post. People don't always check the forums frequently, but if they get on their character they will see they have mail and check it.

I wasn't being rude, I was responding in kind to those that answered the way they did. I am well aware of heckling and the like, but the level of seriousness can not be determined through the forums, especially with people I am not familiar with in any way. Had some of these comments come from a few people I regularly talk to on the WET, it would have been completely different. You know what I'm saying, a friend can berate you and then laugh, a total stranger doing the same thing will get nothing from you but odd looks and possibly a retort of some kind.

Thank you, I am aware of this but my in game time hasn't been what I'd like recently, and on top of that I'm not on CC... yet... and making a level 1 to send mail doesn't really feel right, for impressions and possibly forgetting to check it. (can you send mail cross server now?) So I wanted to see if there was an easier way to grab one of the guys/gals, ie-here.

Unfortunately, you can't send cross server mail. I've been using low level/ level ones to communicate to WrA. It's a bit of an extra hassle, but I don't think anyone minds if you send from a low level character, especially if its the same name as your main/higher level character. Not like they are going to check the armory to see what your level is :P

Maybe the original post has changed from what Kord an Temp read, but I didn't really see any rude comments about the LO other than the people poking fun at the pronunciation (My way of saying it is Loo-Chee-Duh Oo-chel-ad) and I don't think even Imperon would see that as rude, just harmless fun. I've been with the LO for a long time and still got my original character in it. It's very rare that people get passed up but I think people are starting to get drained of the game in general and arn't checking the website or their in game mailbox, or even just the lack of time to spend as many of the officers have more important real life things to take care of outside of the net. Personally, being a member myself, I'm sorry for not keeping track of the LO site myself and noticing people getting overlooked. Its not fun. it happens to me far more than I'd like. I sincerely hope you find fun with your current guild, Saiylen.
