Wallen Dovercliff sat in his office in Eastvale laboriously scripting a detailed description of the event he was planning. A smile on his face as he thought of the glorious action that would ensue when the event took place. The elegant script on the crisp parchment read as follows;
The Stormwind Jockey Club is pleased to announce The Great Race!
Teams comprised of five members of a single guild will compete in a race against other teams to finish preset goals and collect various items to be turned in to the Race Master. The rules will be simple and direct. The team may be comprised of any race or class, levels are set with the lowest being level 20 and the highest level 30. Equipment is up to the individual as the group will be delving into dungeons to collect certain items, which will be announced at the start of the race.
Stormwind Jockey Club will post a purse of 100 gold to each member of the winning team. Any interested parties who wish to add to the purse can contact the Race Master via mail or in person in Stormwind. A modest entry fee of 5 gold per team member is requested to help cover expenses.
The Jockey Club is also looking to hire race officials to ensure the safety of the teams and their compliance of the rules. The rules are as follows:
1. The team members must be from the same guild. Tabards are required to identify said team members. Any class and race is acceptable.
2. Levels of each team member are to be within the set between 20 and 30. In order to do the dungeons as a group, it is suggested to have at least one member to heal the others and one to take damage and lead the group.
3. The teams must all start together, leaving the Stormwind Gates and running to the first objective. Mounts are advised. Once leaving the gate and making their way across country to the first dungeon, the group must collect items along the route. These items will be announced just before the start of the race to avoid pre race collecting.
4. Once arriving at the specified dungeon, the team must complete the dungeon and collect certain items that are only found within. These items must be turned in to the Race master upon return to Stormwind Gate. Hearthing is permissable to return to Stormwind but the items must still be returned accompanied by all team members to the starting area.
5. The race is considered finished when the first team returns to the start and turns in the requested items.
Any and all interested guilds are encouraged to enter a team. There will be higher level races scheduled in the future if interest is high enough. Purses will be increased and crafted items may be offered as part of the purse. Guilds are encouraged to challenge another guild to match races. The Stormwind Jockey Club will also consider cross faction racing in the future with the possible help of a Horde side guild interested in co-hosting.
((Thanks for any help and encouragement to set this up, race date will be set as soon as we get at least 2 teams to sign up and agree to the rules))
