The best way to RP a dragon...

Don't do it. Most people won't like it, it's sketchy with lore, and near impossible to do well. The Warcraft universe is an interesting place, there is plenty to do without making your characters a demon, or a dragon, or a San'layn. Personal opinions aside, many dragon RPers have been 'chased' off the server by people refusing to RP with them or correcting their lore, Horde side.

As for our population, yes, it is smaller. There is walk-up RP to be found, but don't expect it to be the main source of RP, or abundant, considering if you're coming from WrA or ER. A good way to promote RP is to join the IC channels on either Alliance, or Horde, or the OOC channels.

I'm not sure about A-side, but what Araceli said isn't too far off about Horde-side. We don't have a ton of 'pure' RP guilds, as even a guild like Razortalons is technically a raiding guild, even if most our members RP. Many people are in guilds such as this, or even quieter RPers that aren't in any of the channels or in RP guilds. We have a fairly consistent community, but it isn't too large. I'm not so sure about 'elitist', but for the most part, people like to stick to the lore, hence the Dragon RPers leaving.

Which, well, if you're leaving WrA, might be what you're looking for.

Edit: I pointed it out a few times, but for someone skimming the post, this is based off of Horde side observations. I haven't played Alliance for more than a few minutes in over half a year.

As a note to the OP, I am not giving any opinion on the dragon thing, just wanted to say: Please ignore Gentyl's grousing. She very much doesn't speak for us all. Those of us who do RP on here really do love our RP, and while we may not have as much RP of just bumping into someone at the AH, what plots people often come about are often very fun and done by people by try very hard to get others involved.

Araceli wasn't being negative, she was giving an honest opinion, and Gentyl was the one who, in my opinion, gave a bad impression. Deal, white knight.

Gen was obviously grouchy, which I clearly stated in my post. I was merely explaining how one persons negative outlook affected another, and stating that anyone who thinks Gentyl doesn't care about our RP community is a little off.

You obviously don't know me, nor my history with CC rp so I'm going to give you a pass.

Yes, people responding negatively to new roleplayers asking about our server makes me grouchy. Especially, when they don't even get their facts straight. "Maybe" ten rp guilds on the entire server combined? Yeah, I can think of nearly 20 on alliance side alone.

How about, instead of waxing poetic about how much better the rp is on another server, Araceli and people like her, just say, "Roll a character and come check us out"?

I don't think anyone was saying RP was better on another server. Not really.. trying to argue, just trying to point out that I'm fairly certain Araceli was just pointing out the differences in RP style.

The RP on WrA is much, much different than on CC. It's very public, walkup RP is -everywhere-, whereas on CC it's very event driven and less so walkup. And given Araceli's admitting that she hasn't played A-side in quite some time, her statement about guilds on the Horde is really quite accurate. I don't think anyone was attacking CC, or it's RP.

Misinterpreting a person's post and getting overly grouchy in front of a newcomer isn't exactly the best image to portray for CC if we want to bring new life into the server, either. Even if Araceli had meant what you thought, which, again, I doubt, a simple "ignore her" would do.

Two things. I do know your habits and who you are. Just because I'm on a character you aren't familiar with, doesn't mean I'm not familiar with all the so-called 'big names' on CC. Second, not even responding to the rest. TLDR. Not the proper place to get into this on this topic.

Again, OP, if you want to give CC a try, give it a shot. Really, there isn't a better way to get a feel for a server than playing on it.

This. It all boils down to this.

Snapping back at the snapper doesn't do much for an image either, might I add. Look to your own guilt before pointing fingers at others. The only person's behavior you can change is your own.

Some people think dragon RP is not kosher. Some people do. I for one would love to see a well-done dragon RP. Come message me if you do roll a character! I'd love to RP with you.

You'd think after all these years the RP crowd could stop fighting amongst themselves.
