I've been looking at making a new toon (probably a hunter) strictly for pvp. I will get him to 85 and gear him accordingly. I'm just curious about peoples options and thoughts on which side to invest my time in? I really don't see much PVP related talks on the ally side, so It makes me wonder if I should level another horde toon?

Depends on what kind of PvP you want to do. For arenas, hunters aren't ideal right now with a high skill cap, and even a high skill floor to do decently. They dominate in all sub-85 brackets though so they're fun if you plan to level slow and wait for Blizzard's next class update patch (might be weeks if not months from now, if ever). If you want to do BGs, or even rated BGs, hunters are in a pretty good spot right now... even essential if you ask me.

I am not sure about Alliance side but Horde side activity has been dwindling as the summer days wind down. The PvPers are out there though, and if you put in some effort you will find them.
