PUBLIC NOTICE

Are you a proud farmer or herdsman? Or, like those adorable dryads, do you just love fuzzy animals?

COME TO THE AZEROTH STATE FAIR!

Bring anything you like to show! Livestock, plants, handicrafts, your stylish new summer hat -- just no slaves, please. The AAMS believes in freedom for all.

Judging will be available on both factions, and will consist of AAMS representatives giving your entry a cursory inspection, yelling "GOOD JOB!" and thrusting a prize beer into your hands. Bottoms up!

WHEN: The State Fair will be held Thursday, Aug. 25th, starting at 7:30 PM
WHERE: Join us at the Caer Darrow Renewal Project on the Isle of Caer Darrow, in the Western Plaguelands (the large island marked as the location of the Scholomance)
WHO: Both Horde and Alliance are welcome. The AAMS will judge for both sides, and translate between the two!
HOW: Show up! If you have something you want judged, wander around shouting about your prize-winning-whatever-it-is until an AAMS judge stumbles up. Drink your prize beer in contentment.

- A conspicuous watermark mars the bottom of the advertisement, as if someone had spilled beer on the original copy before sending it to the printer's. -

((OOC DETAILS:

This is another weekly CDRP event!

What is the CDRP, you ask?

Why, nothing more than Cenarion Circle's effort to revitalize an empty part of the map!

We get together ever week in the empty, ghost-haunted city below the Scholomance to hold fairs, open shops, and in general do in-character things that make the city feel busy and populated.

But I'm too low-level!

No you're not! The AAMS tries very hard to have warlocks on hand for summons on both sides, though these aren't always ready to go right at 7:30 (we do our best, but we don't actually have a lot of warlocks on staff -- sorry.) We also sometimes have rides with two-seater mounts.

Additionally, low-level characters can always get there pretty safely by running up the river in the Hillsbrad Foothills rather than going through the Plaugelands. Or you can just go through the Bulwark and take a corpse-run or two -- it usually only takes one or two deaths to get to the water, and you can swim it safely from there, even at level one.

How do I participate?

For the State Fair we've decided to go informal! Just show up with something to be judged and we'll make a big show of it. It can be anything that seems vaguely state-fair-like, from a pet pig to a keg of homebrew beer or a hand-quilted picnic blanket. Options you might consider:

    - Vanity pets (or hunter pets if you happen to be one)
    - On-use items that look like critters (such as Exploding Sheep)
    - Interactable holiday items like Brewfest kegs and Picnic Blankets
    - Archaeology finds, either as "handicrafts" you made or as pets/livestock
    - Gardening displays done with Lifebloom, Mylune's Call, several herbalists all using Lifegiving Seeds, etc.

Pretty much anything goes -- it's a beery, booze-soaked good time with people in embarrassing shorts and straw hats, so don't feel shy about jumping in and joining the RP! We like a bit of chaos.

Can I talk to the other faction here?

Yep!

If things get too chaotic we often don't keep up a running translation of everything that's being said, but you're welcome to ask for an AAMS translator if you want to talk to someone specifically. And we'll always do our best to translate things meant for the general public, both Horde and Alliance, to hear, especially if it's in a /yell.
