The battle had been hard fought, but the horde attackers retreated at last. Commander Turncutt and Gentyl sat on a small hummock watching the alliance soldiers returning to their homes. They streamed by; alone, sometimes in small, laughing groups and the occasional knot of boisterous soldiers happy with a victory until the numbers slowed to a trickle. Still the couple waited, as was their habit.

Turncutt pulled out his whiskey skin and passed it to her.

"You know me well, Commander." Gentyl unstoppered the flask and took a healthy draught, the liquid burning its way down to her stomach. She took another sip and passed it back.

"Well enough, mi'lady" he replied to his wife and winked.

"The Regent thinks I could have done better. He rather deplores me drinking whiskey instead of fine elven wine as a lady ought."

Turncutt lowered the skin and replaced it in his bag. "Bah! The imp is short, but I can make him shorter if he decides to meddle in my affairs."

Gentyl laughed. The rivalry between Turncutt and the Regent Tenwit, as the gnome had started calling himself since Turncutt left to join Pia and made the imp the leader of the Tenth, had deepened of late. Tenwit demanded Gentyl return Turncutt and Fallenrose to the Tenth where he might unleash them on the horde unfettered. In truth, with few reservations, that is what Gentyl had been toying with. Meshka's thinly veiled threat to Faithe had been the catalyst to move the plan forward.

Dove,

I miss you and want you to come home.

Affectionately,

M.

She tried to tell herself it was a joke at first, but Meshka was the only one who called Faithe Dove. It was from him and it was a clear message, he was going to get her back.

They were going to start sending a raiding party out to find the accursed goblin since the small scouting forays had turned up nothing. He traveled with impunity from one spot to another as he looked after his various businesses, sure that his guards kept him safe, but Gentyl's people were always just behind him. This time Gentyl was going to strike before the goblin had a chance to slip away.

"If we move forward with the plan, there's a chance the horde will strike back at some of our towns. It means we are going to have to jump to defend. Of course, horde have already been attacking, so I'm not sure it will be much different. I found one wearing the Malicious Intent tabard attacking Goldshire a few days ago."

Turncutt nodded. "We need action reports. Anyone who engages in needs to write up a report. We'll keep tabs on the skirmishes, both to find Meshka and defense. We also need to post a wanted list. That damnable Rotoblade needs to be on it."

Gentyl would have nodded, but a rogue had slipped up their little hill and knocked her in the head. Turncutt frowned when she didn't respond then vaulted off his horse to defend her. She shook off the sap and joined her husband in the fray. The rogue was formidable, but they downed him after a lively dance.

Turncutt wiped off his sword. "Can't abide rudeness. Knocking a lady on the head without so much as a by your leave?"

((So, here's the deal. World rp/pvp has been a bit slow. Pia is going to step up the action by "searching" horde towns for the goblin Meshka. Defense would be lovely if any horde want to come out and play. We're also going to be posting a horde wanted list. We'll just be pulling some names to begin with, but the wanted list will change according to horde we encounter in either offense or defense. The more we see someone, the more "marks" they get, putting them on the list." Earning their way to the top of the wanted list will earn a gold reward from Meshka.

This thread is where we will be posting the action reports.))

Forward Command attack report. The command struck at 12:32 by a tauren named Taurenous, wearing the Shadow Raiders mark. Arrived to find guards wounded, Fallenrose engaged and routed the warrior. He disappeared, leaving us to believe he had given up the attack, but then slipped in from the east and struck again. Gentyl arrived to give reinforcements, whereupon the tauren fled upon his mount.

We spent two turns with him dodging about in air, lighting occasionally and then flying off again. He donned the blue skirt and we waited another turn, but he would not engage so we left.

Conquest merit to Fallenrose.

RE: Tol Barad Hostilities, Incident Report

Supervisor Zizzikky Plaxil, heretofore referred to as "Z", bore witness to excessive factional conflict at Tol Barad on October the fifth. Upon exiting the prison area ( Z was present there to assist the wardens in a recent uprising of prisoners ) Z found members of both the Horde and the Alliance near the bridge leading back to the main island. Hostilities were imminent.

In an effort to calm all parties involved, Z engaged the Alliance forces in pleasant conversation and sharing of foodstuffs. Efforts were ineffective, as the present forces soon began conflict in earnest.

Z Followed the course of the battle, continuing attempts to downgrade physical conflict to negotiations, but to no avail. Horde forces derided Z for her attempts, while Alliance forces mostly ignored her presence.

Fortunately, AAMS neutrality was acknowledged, and Z was afforded safety among the combatants, not once suffering any physical assault or harassment.

Notable combatants recognized by Z included, but are not limited to:

  • HORDE

    • Rotoblade

  • ALLIANCE

    • Gentyl
      Fallenrose
      Crayautchin
      Taelenas
      Duessel

Z remained present and continued efforts to calm the situation until the Horde forces withdrew from the vicinity of Alliance base camp in Tol Barad.

    Suggested course of action:

None. It appears as though the conflict was unplanned and not likely to result in any retributive action. Monitoring the situation would most likely result in waste of resources.

Action report. Commander Turncutt, Fallenrose and myself took part in the unsuccessful battle for Tol Barad. Rose noted the sound of battle coming from the road behind us as we sat near the Alliance camp and went to investigate. Ishilia and another horde had two alliance soldiers, Morrin and another man, trapped on the road near the Horde encampment.

We engaged and they retreated momentarily to the camp to rally the Hellscream guards.

Commander Turncutt left to tend to the Mary Celeste, which was getting ready to sail the next morn.

A short time later we were overrun with Horde, many of whom belonged to the Cereal Killerz. We gathered more forces and the battle went back and forth with it descending into the Alliance camp at times as the Horde raid attempted to destroy the camp.

The AAMS courier Zizzikky attempted to negotiate a peace, but blood was hot and the battle continued for nearly an hour.

Recommend putting Ishilia on the wanted list. She seems to be bent on battle at every opportunity.

Action Report: Several scraps last night. A raid hit last night in the cities of Exodar and Darnassus by a mix of several guilds. A defense was raised, but arrived too late to have any impact on the exiting offenders.

Reforming in Stormwind we had believed they would strike there next or the city of Ironforge. Neither happened save for a few hit and run attacks by Rogue Pang. After spending time hunting and fighting him in multiple areas (Stormwind, Ironforge and the Tram.) Things had finally gotten quiet.

Until the alarms in Theramore went off. Since I could get there faster I teleported over to investigate and found a lone Tauren Paladin making his way up Jainas tower. Upon seeing me, he fled the tower where we met outside on the smaller tower wall surrounding Jaina.

From there we had several fights on the small arena where neither of us had the upper hand. After each fight he respectfully would wait until I was ready and I did the same.

Several fights later we moved away from the city and our conflicts turned more into friendly duels. Each side would respectfully bow and announce when they were ready to fight. Time went by and eventually he left peacefully. This is a very rare thing when responding to a defensive action and it should be noted.

Should anyone encounter him in the future, fight him with honor and give him the respect he deserves.

The Paladins name is Elevado of the guild CSI Undercity.

Action report: Alarms sounded on an attack on Goldshire by several Horde weiring the colors of the Royal Knights. Assailants included paladin, death knight, mage, warrior, and a relatively new rogue. Group seemed organized but relatively new to the war effort.

Upon hearing alarms, I engaged. Upon realizing that I was outnumbered, I prevented escape by means of portal until reinforcements could arrive. At 19:30, reinforcements arrived in the form of several Pia allies. With numbers evenly matched, invaders were routed from Goldshire. Invaders donned the blue skirt and retreated from Elwynn. Goldshire remains successfully defended.

    Action report 10-10 20:30

The alarms sounded in Goldshire. Galahn was the first to respond. He reported two horde paladins, a druid and mage attacked the town.

Mira, Deussel, Taelanas, Taliea and Gentyl (Gentyl was there ooc since IC she's still on bed rest) answered the call and joined Galahn. Marpessa was already at the scene and invited to the Pia group to help defend. Lawlcat, Zmage, Valenvar and Bandaidz were in the initial group. Taliea reported seeing two other horde, but they weren't recognized.

The battle shifted around Elwynn for approximately two hours with both sides taking losses and reforming. Neither side showed shyness in engaging at any time. The horde eventually broke off after creating a great deal of havoc.

Advise immediate response to them if they show again in Alliance lands. They are skilled in battle and well-geared. Approach with blades drawn.

    Action Report 10-12 Approximately 19:00

Alarms in Goldhsire sounded and were answered by Galahn and Gentyl. Quickly determined members of Steam were slaughtering guards in the small town. A call to arms was sent out and promptly answered.

Fallenrose, Marico, Songmoon, Pandu, Mira, Talrasha, Calendre, Crayauctin, Macnee, Ajmankawits, Dustwing, Elaarra, Minifish, Nakurako, Wolfgaar, Duessel and others responded to the call.

The battle lasted approximately 90 minutes with the locations shifting to various areas in Elwynn. Once again the attackers exhibited determination and skill.

Recommend putting the entire guild on the Most Wanted List.

Action Report: Approximately 1300 server time
    Battle Duration: Approximately one half-hour

Alarms in Elwynn Forest answered by Taliea and Devaneaux (myself); we were later joined by Dustwing and Calendre, among others. Target was a blood elf warrior by the name of Zeruel, belonging to Defiled Legacy. First sighting was outside the gates of Stormwind, slaughtering the guard patrol from Stormwind to Goldshire.

Despite effort by a blood elf paladin named Keeinthia (belonging to Cereal Killerz) to heal the warrior, battle continued; the paladin subsequently retreated, apologizing to Taliea and flying off. The warrior led us from the gates into the woods outside Goldshire, where we pressed on in a series of confrontations, including leading us on from the air on the back of a dark phoenix. Finally, after several skirmishes, the warrior retreated via hearthstone back to home base.

Despite being pressed by at least two people at once at any given time, this warrior Zeruel showed immense strength and courage for a sin'dorei, able to hold us off for a brief moment before we went in for the kill. I must admit, this was a most persistent and capable foe.

If luck held, they would have an uneventful night. The Commander was still away. Gentyl stood on the hill overlooking the harbor and pulled out her spyglass. A ragged red hem trailed across the horizon and swept up into banks of purple clouds. She swept the glass slowly over the sea, searching for a hint of a sail, but there was none to be found and no amount of peering would conjure one. The last bit of sun cast golden coins upon the gently ruffled sea and at last Gentyl lowered the glass and stepped up on the old warhorse.

"No grog, tonight, old friend. Perhaps he will be home soon."

The horse flicked an ear at the first alarm. Gentyl kicked him into and easy lope and slid to a stop at the Pia offices. "Any reports?" she asked as she flew up the stairs.

A young warlock looked wide-eyed. "Big horde raid, ma'am. I was gathering some skins when they rode in." He pointed at a spot on the map. "Just there."

"Thank you. Best stay out of the way for a bit if you can...I didn't catch your name."

    "Detheater, ma'am."

Taelanas pushed past the young man and ran up to the war table. "Same as last night?

"I'm guessing so. Someone or something stirred up Steam and they seem bent on waging war."

Taelanas pulled on his gauntlets. "Meet in the courtyard."

Gentyl rolled up the map and strode out the door. Duessel circled on his great drake and then landed near them. "Need some help?"

"We never turn down a sword in battle or a friend." Gentyl's voice was muffled behind the heavy helm, but he caught her meaning and smiled.

Taliea, Mira, Meriste, Duessel and Taelanas landed next to Gentyl. Some others were answering the alarms also. The battle went back and forth for two hours with losses on both sides. Eventually Steam and some others withdrew, but reformed and attacked Kharanos and Iron Forge. Defenders were gathered again, but the horde campaign held sway and Alliance forces were forced to retreat.

The horde moved back to Stormwind where they were met with stiff resistance and broke off after a lively skirmish.

Action started at approximately 20:20 on 10-12 and continued until 1:30 10-13.

Numerous Alliance forces joined in the battle to defend.

Advise extreme caution in dealing with this group. Tauren healer named Bandaidz is particularly skilled, and an honorable fighter.

((The battle was still going on when I went to bed, so I'm not sure when it ended.))

"They are in Goldshire," Rose said.

Gentyl didn't even need to ask who. She whistled for the drake and waited for him to fly down from the hilltop he favored as a roost. There were bits of wool clinging to his claws and most likely an unhappy sheep farmer somewhere. She'd check it out later, for now they had horde to attend to.

    Action report 17:48 10-13

Fallenrose reported members of Steam and Endow in Goldshire. Gentyl responded as there were no other Guards available. Assorted volunteers were in Goldshire to answer the call, but alliance forces were overwhelmed. Due to responsibilities elsewhere, Rose and Gentyl were forced to cede control of Goldshire to horde attackers. They were still in control at last report.

Recommend putting Byepolar on wanted list. Tauren druid of skill who seems to be rallying Steam forces.

The most exciting prey to hunt is the prey that hunts you back...

It started with a rogue in Stormwind--at least, that's what Lahkin had told him. Pang was the name, and he had been stalking the streets of the Mage Quarter, sapping the unwary and in general making a nuisance of himself. Lahkin had gone down to him once, right under the nose of his comrades, Gentyl and Sigvar. Finnaeus, another Pia Presidium, appeared to assist. The four chased the rogue off the cliff by the Harbor. There Pang had died, and there, after reawakening, he disappeared.

That's when Dustwing had come in. If the hunter knew anything, it was sniffing out rogues. Still Pang evaded them, and alarms rung out by the Stormwind Gate, calling them away.

Two other Horde were killing the mounted guard patrol in Elwynn Forest. Zhar and Kielamoris, a goblin and a blood elf, both skilled frost magi. The Pia Presidium and several others mustered and drove them back onto the banks of Crystal Lake.

Pang made a reappearance in the forests between the Lake and the city, continuing his game of sap-and-run. Eventually Dustwing caught him in the act, and the rogue didn't come back.

Afterward came a long game of cat and mouse. The two Horde were mounted, dipping over and under the treeline to lead the Pia on a merry chase. Sometimes they would land, and sometimes the Alliance hit them hard enough to knock them to the ground. They made a stand on a mountaintop overlooking Old Town, killing the death knight Iceshayd before leaping off.

Though the victory was not a sound one, Dustwing was satisfied. The prey that gets away lives to fight another day, and Dustwing did like his fighting.

    ((Thanks guys! Tons of fun.))

((A little different from the usual report, but this Tol B battle was too amusing to pass up.))

Action Report: 10-18, just before 300 hours

The Tol Barad Call to Arms came at roughly 230 hours--very early in the morning. I was surprised when it was just me and Olcadin of <Lluchduu Ocheliad> and a third human who called himself Bootzdog who answered the call.

    Booting Dog? Something like that...

We first rode to Ironclad Garrison, but were met with no resistance. I decided to test the defenses at Slagworks while Olcadin stayed behind to guard the garrison.

There was a troll mage waiting there, Zortkildar of <The Velvet Revolver>. Frost specialization I think, if all the icicles he threw at me were any indicator. I've always been told that the best way to deal with magi (besides killing them that is), is get another obstacle between me and them. So that's what I did. The courtyard at Slagworks had a bunch of columns in it. I went around and around and around and around and I got dizzy and then...the Booting Dog man showed up.

The troll had a strong frost shield that neither of us could penetrate. Instead we did distraction tactics. Around and around and around and...well, you get the point.

A second Horde, Monawee of <Eye of the Tiger>, was also there. Olcadin had chased her off of Ironclad Garrison and instead she came to help the troll. Like me, she could heal, so neither side made any progress. If you've ever seen two kids going at it with pillows while their parents looked on...well, that's kind of what it was like.

Olcadin went around and captured Warden's Vigil while we were busy at the Slagworks. Another ally called Ziggii came to help just as the Horde called the retreat. Overall, the battle was a success, and Tol Barad is in Alliance hands for another few hours.

Other Things of Note: The island is rich in elementium ore. Problim was still being a problem.

The Commander had been gone far too long. Of course, for a newly wed, one day is too long and Gentyl forced herself not to run to meet him when she saw the familiar pup bounding toward her where she stood guard at the Cathedral. Traveler reached a velvet muzzle down to greet him then shook his head, settled back into his easy stance and promptly went back to sleep. Gentyl had suspicions someone had slipped the old horse some extra cherry grog and he was sleeping off a hangover.

The Commander rode through the gates at last on the pacing black he preferred to ride. "Mi'lady," he said as he reined his horse along side her and pulled her hand up to kiss. "Thought we might find you here."

Gentyl smiled, barely able to contain the exciting news that would have to wait until they were alone. "Aye, Steam hit the Cathedral and orphanage a few days ago. They seem bent on massive destruction."

He looked her over, his silver hair brushing his shoulders. "You need a new weapon."

She raised an eyebrow. "Do I?"

"You do. If you're going to keep fighting these scamps, you need a better weapon and some better gear. Weapon first. Are you game for the pits?"

Her breath caught. She was horrible in the pits. It was like she entered the arena and what little she knew about fighting flew out of her brain. The surprise would have to wait longer. "Aye, sir. Whenever you are."

The first match went quickly, and for once she remembered what she should do. He passed the skin of whiskey to her afterwards and winked. "The lady's blood is up tonight."

She took a healthy draught of whiskey and passed it back. "It's good to have you home."

"Good to be home, m'dear. Ready to go again?"

She nodded, the flush of whiskey and battle warming her cheeks. He smiled and took a drink of whiskey, then stoppered the skin and put it back in his bag. "Not sure what's got into you, but I like it."

At last the steward refused them and they made their way back to the ship where she hustled about preparing her surprise while he made his rounds. She fussed with the captain's cabin he lived in...they lived in when he was in port. He kept it immaculately clean always, so her fussing was little more than picking something up and then putting it back down in its perfectly clean spot.

Turncutt walked into the cabin and took off his armor, hanging it carefully on the rack. Gentyl had already washed and changed into a pale blue dressing gown he admired. At last it was time to give him the exciting news.

"I'll have the cook rustle us up something to eat," he said.

"Actually," Gentyl said, beaming with pride, "I want to tell you something first."

    He raised an eyebrow. "Aye?"

"Yes, it's a surprise." She padded across the room to the door and whispered to the sailor just outside.

"Yes, Missus," he responded and hurried away.

They waited until the cook, the very distraught looking cook, brought in trays of food. He set the food down and hurried away with a small, "Sorry, sir."

The Commander looked at the blackened steaks, boiled new potatoes and bowls of fresh vegetables and fruits. "What's this?"

"It's my surprise. I've been learning to cook!"

She had never seen him shy from battle, but he looked very well nigh to retreat with all haste at the moment. He steeled himself and took out his eating dagger to slice into the steak. After some determined sawing, he carved out a bite and took a deep breath before raising it to his mouth. She tried to ignore the crunching as she attacked her own steak. He, being a man of resolve, ate another bite and smiled when she looked up at him, tears in her eyes. "It's wonderful, dear. What is it?"

"Blackened steak. I thought someone told me you liked that."

He nodded and continued crunching on the steak. "It very definitely is blackened. Interesting taste."

The steak slipped out from under his dagger when he attempted to carve it again, flew across the room and hit the sleeping pup. The dog yelped, jumped up and smelled of the steak, then backed away, barking as if it were some dread monster.

Gentyl walked over to him and petted him. "It's all right, pup. It's just a steak. Here, you can have it." She held the meat out to the dog who merely growled at it and then ran away to hide under the bed. "Feckless best."

"He's not used to gourmet food, dear," Turncutt said, trying to console her. "The potatoes are delicious. I love raw potatoes. Reminds me when I was a boy and the cook used to give me chunks with salt on them."

"They're not supposed to be raw," Gentyl said quietly. "I boiled them."

    "Oh, of course. Quite good."

They finished the dinner in silence with him finally searching for some modicum of praise. "I loved the apples."

"Thank you," she said coldly. "I didn't do anything but wash them."

"Still, they were washed to perfection." He moved to his favorite chair and tamped some tobacco in his pipe, then patted his knee. "Come here and let me brush your hair. Tell me what's been happening."

She settled on the floor between his knees with her back to him and listened to him puffing on the pipe to catch the tobacco smoldering. He picked up the brush and started drawing it through her hair.

"Steam is still rampaging. Cereal Killerz, Malicious Intent, Endow and some others have joined them. I put Ishliha, the mage from Malicious Intent on the wanted list."

"Good," he said with the pipe clenched in his teeth. "She needs to be on it. Formidable little wench."

"An orc warlock named Nearah with the Steam clan attacked me at Hearthglen earlier."

He took the pipe from his mouth. "What?"

"She came into the meeting hall while I was talking to the Guards about some business. Bold as brass disguised as a human. She walked in, stood there for a moment and then grinned at me and attacked with twenty Guards all around her. Turrick fell immediately, but she was taken down. I've never seen anything quite like it. She didn't even flinched when she struck."

"I'll be watching for her," said Turncutt and resumed puffing on his pipe. "Won't have some orc just thinking they can waltz in and attack my wife."

"I think she may have been badly wounded," Gentyl replied. "I recognized her when she shimmered and shifted back to her form. She wasn't in good shape."

"Badly wounded isn't enough," he said. "Any idea why she'd try an assassination at the Glen?"

"Not really. I accidentally hit Xzero earlier. He's a Steam elf. He set a campfire and eased down by it then invited me to sit with him. You know me and how clumsy I am. I was trying to look closer at his armor and fell into him with sword drawn. Maybe he's her husband or sweetheart."

"Put her on the list. Wounded or not, she's a menace."
