I've been making an effort to fly patterns during dailies and gathering that cross rare pet spawn points. Since I have most of the pets I want (excepting Skarr), if I find a rare I tend to do a /who hunter and whisper to see if someone is interested in taming. This can be tedious and often takes awhile to find someone who can take advantage of the opportunity.

My question is whether creating a public chat channel, perhaps called HunterPets would be welcome to the hunter community where they could sit and if a rare is found, we could just post it in the chat? I did a search here in the forum and didn't see any thread about this.

Thoughts? In the meantime I'll join the channel and you can drop in if you are interested.

Are you referring specifically to 4.2 rares(Skitterflame, Anthriss, Kirix, Solix, Deth'tilac, Ankha, Magria, Ban'thalos, Skarr and Karkin) or coveted rares in general(Loque'nahak, Sambas, Madexx, Terrorpene, etc)?

I heard someone talking about rare pets.

That is a nice idea, though. I certainly wish there was something like that Horde-side when I was running across so many rares. Would've been easier to know who was interested in taming without having to armory folks (I'd faint if I ever summoned a hunter only for him to kill the rare, haha).

Back on the server Hyjal, we had a channel called SilverDragon. For anybody hunting rares. I guess why don't we just start it up. For alliance I can't help you. But maybe you can try starting it among your guild.

Anyone interested in setting up a channel like this hordeside? I'd love to have a place to advertise rares I find, since I've tamed all the ones I want. Great idea Fieral!
