As Nyzii trudged into the AAMS office carrying a rather large and awkward package he mumbled to himself, "It's a good thing I'm already dead, otherwise carrying this thing would have killed me by now!"

He plunked the large package down next to his desk with an echoing thud. It was late, and he was the only one in the office, but he wanted to get this job done so he could finally be rid of the responsibilities of being a courier. He preferred his duties as a clerk.

Taking a seat the badly rotting foresaken took out a stack of forms and started filling them out. This was pretty simple work for the undead clerk, a lot easier than carrying packages, he thought as he filled the forms out. While the package was rather unique, the forms were the standard, run of the mill, AAMS Cross Faction Package Transfer Request and Protocol forms, or AAMS-CFPTRaP's as the new CEO called them. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put a Gnome in charge of the AAMS should be strung up from a tree somewhere, he thought. Things were so much... simpler, under Sulfon, the seemingly carefree Troll and previous AAMS CEO.

With the forms completed Nyzii knew that he should attach a note describing the delivery. As detailed as the AAMS-CFPTRaP's are, they were still a bit cold and uninviting. He looked around his desk for a clean sheet of paper but couldn't find any. He still wasn't completely set up after the move to the AAMS joint office in Caer Darrow.

Searching the dimly lit room he noticed the door to Mr. Verogoth's office was open, which made him grin. Gathering up the paperwork and package, Nyzii slogged it through the door and placed it on Verogoth's desk where he would be sure to notice it. "May as well cut out the middle men," he said out loud to himself before looking around the office for that blank sheet of paper he still needed.

He stepped across the room to a pristine filing cabinet, Verogoth always kept his office in perfect order. Opening the top drawer he took out a sheet of paper from the stack that was inside. As he turned to Verogoth's desk he noticed something. The address on the sheet of the AAMS letterhead he had just grabbed was wrong. It was the old AAMS Alliance Branch address from before the merger into the joint office.

"Why would Mr. Verogoth keep a stack of old letterhead?" he thought, out loud again to himself. Looking back into the cabinet drawer, that was still open, he noticed it was full of outdated and dusty objects from the old Alliance office in Stormwind. "Why would you keep all this worthless junk..." he mumbled, opening the drawer to have a better look; that's when he noticed the old desk name plate. White letters on a blue background, "Vasilia Starfallen"

Nyzii shook his head, "Didn't have the heart to throw all her junk away, huh Rillik? Maybe death knights are not as dead on the inside as everyone says they are?" chirped Nyzii, looking over what appeared to be a drawer full of the missing couriers belongings. Nyzii shook his head, moving back to the desk to write his note:

Mr. Verogoth,

The enclosed package has a rather unique story behind it's delivery that I felt needed to be shared with you. The package contains a shield, rather, an Alliance shield with the King's Crest, that is to be delivered to the next of kin of it's original owner. The client, who wishes to remain anonymous, would like it returned as a sign of goodwill between the Horde and Alliance.

It was retrieved from the field of battle where it was in possession of a fallen Orc warrior who undoubtedly took it as a personal prize in a battle with alliance forces. The client believes the Orc obtained the shield some time in the last two to three months. The client has no idea who the shield belongs to, so it will be up the AAMS to research and find it's previous owners in order to deliver it. The client has paid a hefty sum of five-hundred gold pieces to facilitate the needed research.

I would suggest talking with the various military commanders Alliance side as they might be able to provide some further insight into the shield's previous owner; perhaps even identifying the unit or division they may have belonged to based on the markings and design on the shield.

Sincerely,

Nyzii
AAMS Clerk

Nyzii left the note on Verogoth's desk along with the AAMS-CFPTRaP transfer orders and the neatly wrapped package containing the shield. He then helped himself to a few new writing quills from the drawer containing Vasilia's things; she wouldn't be needing them after all, before closing it quietly and slipping out of the office.
