Prologue: Gazing Out to Lordaeron
I'm skipping the events that take place during th Fall of Fenris, which is detailed in Assault on Trisfal.
Aorune Fireblade had never felt more hopeful, pushing away from his mind any, even slight, hint of doubt. He had successfuly taken a fort deep into his enemy's lines, and within clear view of said enemy's city-fortress; Atleast, what lies on top of it. Fenris Keep, once the tactical center of Lordaeron's forces, had been in the hands of simple, scared Hillsbrad farmers. He had given them aid, and brought in Worgen and Alliance to strengthen the Keep.
To admit, Fenris wasn't in great shape. The surrounding houses were quite run down, but Aorune's thoughts countered with an image of Stromgarde, where many structures once considered 'houses' were lacking any form of roof, or some, without even walls. So he brushed off the fact, thinking that, once the succesful Assault on Trisfal, there'd be enough leeway to bring in supplies.
Aorune had been happy to commaner with Luptia, and quickly came to feel closer to her than he may have guessed weeks before. They had ended the nigh gazing over the waters of Lordamere Lake, reveling in its beauty, conversing, thinking.....Then the next day hit him like a solid rock...Nay, a rock covered in magma hurled by Ragnaros.
The Fall of Fenris, as it has quickly come to be known, was a tradgedy all on its own. While Aorune and Luptia later assasinated many Forsaken troops after the turmoil, it was all done thanks to Lord Godfrey, who Fireblade regarded now as the worst threat to Lordaeron, was probably celebrating or planning himself..in the Keep he claimed. Lord Godfrey has been assisted by the best of the Horde, the name of Arothand Lightsworn to name one. Aorune growled at the very thought of the Ebon Blade member, cursing his once-great name.
