Drakehide was standing on the docks at Booty Bay, waiting for the boat for Ratchet to arrive.
It had been an interesting couple days, to see the least.
Drakehide had met Tyrexus at last, and had been not only placed in a position where he could not kill the Forsaken, but placed in a position where he and Tyrexus had been fighting alongside each other. The warrior's friendship with the mage Derkashi had fallen apart, thanks to his ejection from the Horde. Pakaza had reappeared, the first time Drakehide had seen him since the Stockades, and had offered Drakehide financial assistance if he needed it during his journey. Drakehide had found Fehl, the first time he'd seen her since the Wyvern's Tail Inn, and she was ranting, furious, seemingly driven just a little...insane...? To top it all off, on the journey back from Booty Bay, Drakehide had survived an attempt on his life at the Salty Sailor tavern. Sort of.
And on the subject of the Salty Sailor tavern...what sort of self-respecting bar didn't serve Cactus Cider? Most unglorious!
At the tavern, Drakehide made a new friend in the warrior Souvik. Souvik had been intent on ending Drakehide's life in vengeance for the offense done to the Horde, but after a drink and a good chat the two had come to a sort of understanding. Souvik had offered Drakehide somewhere to stay if he was in crisis, and Drakehide had offered Souvik warrior training.
Fortunately, so far, the number of bounty hunters set on collecting 20,000 gold had been few, but there were whispers. Rumors, that the Modas il Toralar might be on his tail, and that there were other individuals who could use the gold as well. He was prepared, though. He'd invested in an number of new enhancements to his armor, and weapons.
The only one to whom Drakehide intended to answer to, for his crimes, were the Warchief and the Horde at large. Let the bounty hunters come.
Rather than just standing at the pier wasting time, Drakehide decided to start checking over some of the tinkers and gadgets he'd recently had attached to his gauntlets, and his belt. He paused when he came to one of them, one of them that was, of yet, still untested.
Drakehide had experienced a very poor past few days. He needed something to cheer himself up. Perhaps it was time he gave that Mind Amplification Dish a field test...he'd acquired it specifically because it presented an effective counter to the huntress Tyrynna's telepathic abilities. While Drakehide counted her a friend, he was all too aware that circumstances could change...that they could be face to face again, in battle...and that, again, he would be at the mercy of powers he could not defend himself against.
This device would solve all of that. But how to make sure that it worked...?
The warrior got an idea. An awful, awful idea.
As a devilish grin grew across the warrior's face, he knew EXACTLY who he was going to test it on, and how he was going to test it. And Stormwind was conveniently nearby...
((EDIT: Drake's side journey with the Mind Amplfication Dish will probably start up in a separate thread shortly. Still waiting just to confirm a few details. ^^))
