Death.

It flooded across Stormwind.

Gruzzexl could hardly contain himself. Such chaos plagues could bring! Delightful!
And oh.... how it would spread from there. No quarantines could truly stop an airborne, invisible monster like fever.

Oh, he would have to congratulate those responsible.

He wondered absently if there was more of it in their possession.

Taarma had spent hours at her sisters side, mopping her brow, talking quietly to her, holding her hand. They had told her it had been an attack, that someone had orchestrated this honorless act. Her sister Thora had contracted the disease while evacuating orphans from the city. Ignored the warnings and stayed too long before leaving. The only reason she was alive was Wulfhere had managed to intercept her and bring her to Hearthglen and safety.

Taarma clenched a fist and fought down her rage. There would be payback, she had already been in touch with the shadowsister, instructions had already been sent. Taarma would stay at her sisters side until she recovered, then she would join the other members of her Order and the hunt would begin.

Fernand Argustus was quite surprised to read reports on the spread of the Cold Fire Fever to Stormwind, and several other Alliance settlements. Releasing the bioweapon within the Wildhammer compound in the Hinterlands was done with the sole purpose of killing the lone rogue who had dared to attack the RAS, and now it seemed that many more, civilians and soldiers alike, would suffer and die. Fernand took no pleasure in these deaths. Death was not simply the end of one's life - it was a cascade, a ripple affect that touched everyone around that person. It was a wound that could never be healed. Yes, it was unfortunate, but necessary. Fernand had a duty to Lady Sylvanas, who desired the complete eradication of the Alliance races. It was not Fernand's place to question his Lady, but merely to carry out her wishes in the most efficient and practical way possible. To fulfill his duty, for Queen and Country, Fernand would see to the death of every last man, woman and child of the Alliance.

Chambliss was in a cheerful mood, as usual, when he reported to Orwyn in the Commander's office.

Chambliss saluted smartly. "Corporal Acton reporting as ordered, sir!"

Orwyn looked up from his ever-present paperwork. "Very good Corporal," Orwyn replied. "What's your report on Officer Hemeltidur. How is his fever?"

Chambliss grinned and waved a hand dismissively. "Eh, it's fine sir. I took care ah him. When I was done with him, he jumped right up and tried ta give me a hug. He was still a little confused and did it with his weapons out...but he's totally fine now. No symptoms or whatever."

As was often the case, it took Orwyn a moment to fully come to grips with Chambliss' accounting of events. "Corporal, the fever is resistant to light-based healing. Are you sure Officer Hemetildur was healed?" Orwyn gave Chambliss a full-bore stare.

"Oh yeah, sir. No doubt about it. Nothing is impossible for the Light ya know. Well, maybe a few things. Or a lot if you're looking at it wrong. Like it won't toast and butter bread...well, maybe toast. If it was demon-possessed bread. Uh..." Chambliss frowned as his train of thought entered a tunnel.

"Corporal!!" Orwyn brought him back to the real world. "Would you please explain how you managed this miracle?"

"Oh yeah, you bet sir. First I cast Consecration Aura, because I can get that ta work almost all the time. Then I just started picking spells at random and doing them as hard as I could! I figured somethin' would stick eventually. I threw some attack spells in... Hammer ah Justice cause I finally remembered how ta cast it... Uh...pretty much everything. At the end I was a little bummed, because he was still coughin' some, so I tried Crusader Strike and jabbed him in the neck with my sword. I figured it'd heal right up with all the stuff I'd cast on him." Chambliss shrugged. "Then there was some kinda light explosion...uh, well a holy one. Not like a regular explosion with light. I got knocked off the quarantine ship and inta the water, and when I got out, he was all real animated and doin' fine - like I said with the hug. And his monkey tried ta kill me, but I think that was an accident."

Orwyn mustered his reserves of stoicism and merely blinked. Keeping his face completely expressionless, he said, "Make sure you write a thorough report of your effort. Perhaps it will come in useful in healing others. You're dismissed, Corporal."

Chambliss saluted enthusiastically with a wide grin. "Oh yeah, you bet sir! You can't keep the Light down, 'cause it comes from up in the sky!" Chambliss laughed heartily and left.

Once Chambliss was out of sight down the stairs, Orwyn laid his forehead down on the desk and sighed.
