On the Run

Jhulina hurriedly packed her things. Her betrayal had become known to prominent members of the Horde, and the information was most likely waiting in a pile on Hellscream's desk. Covering her face with her Corruptor's hood, she hoped that she wouldn't be found immediately. No one knew where she lived, thank the Gods.

Where to go? Where to run? If they find me, they'll kill me. The Presidium can't protect me. Nor will they. I know I cannot hide forever.

Grabbing her small bags filled with insignificant things, she forcefully pulled herself up onto her black drake. Whispering in Demonic, it took flight at her bidding. She flew west for a while and landed in a tree somewhere in Ashenvale to rest. Using the Fel power, she transformed into a demon version of herself and waited.

Arothand had reported her. She knew it. Luckily, she was banded with no one. Therefore, no one but herself was likely to get injured due to her stupidity. She thought of what got her here in the first place. The Horde. She spat as she thought. Wiping the spit from her lips, she remembered. Oh, yes. She remembered everything.

From the time she was born, she was forced into slavery. Forced to bed the sweaty, dirty orc soldiers returning from fighting the Scourge on Northrend. Forced to kill the babies that spawned from those "meetings." Forced to hold back her emotions and not slaughter the men that came to see her for fear of being slaughtered herself. A life of being forced. No longer. She saw the kindness and sense of family that the Alliance offered and she longed to be a part of that. Despite being branded, literally, with a Horde symbol, she longed to live out the rest of her life striving for peace. Being reminded of that symbol, Jhulina looked at her right forearm. Even in her demon form, the scar showed. Gritting her teeth, she pulled a sharp Fel-blade from her bag and began tearing at the skin. Cutting and slicing through the brand until it was no longer recognizable, she felt no pain. Pain was long gone. Pain was now her strength. As she tucked the blade away again, she wiped her arm on the bark of the tree.

Suddenly, she heard voices over her hearthstone. Someone was talking about her and her treachery. Ha! Let them talk. They'll never find me. I'm just like every other warlock there is out there. She whispered in Demonic at her stone her sentiments, another warlock translating for her. Then she cackled madly and shut the stone off.

She waited.

((For those of you participating, I greatly appreciate it! I'm just trying to find something to keep me busy while I toil away at Loremaster. I hope to accomplish it soon, so that I can transfer to Alliance.))

((A note: Upon a conversation that Jhulina and a certain priest had in-game, I suppose some clarification is needed. Jhulina was kidnapped by an underground slave trade mob boss, who happens to wear a tabard of the Horde. Therefore, she thinks that THAT is the Horde and not the wonderful bunch of people you all know. Thanks!))

((Simple, Tazzle. If she transfers now her quests get reset and she'd have to grind out the entire achievement again. But if she gets it first, she still has it when she transfers.))

((Well, the quests you do are different as Alliance or Horde, even if - for the most part, like the neutral town quests, i.e. Gadgetzan, Ramkahen, etc. - they end up being the same. For instance, when I came over from Horde on Medivh back in December, I had only done enough in Vashj'ir to get the seahorse mount. When I became Saavedro and checked at the Hero's Call board, Vashj'ir had completely reset - because for all intents and purposes, the quests I had completed there already did not exist, as the intro and the first few quests had been done while I was Horde, not Alliance. It's weird how it works, but that's how it works.))

((That's exactly it, Saavedro. When I transferred my Horde pally to Alliance, everything had been reset. Despite people goading me on and on, saying that "No, it'll be fine..." I'm going to stick to my guns. This was the first toon I ever created, and there's so much progress and so much time put into her, that I'm not willing to throw it away to chance. Besides: I only have 700 quests to go :P ))

Another day, another run for Bralox. This time, up to the snowy lands of Winterspring, polar opposite to his starting point of Tanaris. He was on his way back to Orgrimmar, when he realized that he could barely see his paws on the ground. Grunting, he leapt, landing with his arms outstretched at a lower tree branch he hoisted himself up into Safety for the night.

As he reached a perch, he withdrew his dinner for the night. "Ooooh, Sandwich.." He mused, withdrawing a full loaf of bread, just under a foot and a half long, stuffed with al manner of meats, cheeses and vegetables. wiggling his legs, he lifted the meal to his mouth, unaware of the Nearby elf who's tree fate had decided to dump him so.

Jhulina watched with her glowing demon eyes as the shaman bit into his sandwich. She was starved. In her haste to leave Orgrimmar, she hadn't taken any food with her. With her heightened senses, she could smell the variety of meats and cheeses that this shaman was shoveling into his mouth and her mouth watered in turn.

She thought about jumping down and killing him outright, but then she saw his tabard and decided to leave him be. Though he was a member of the Horde, he was considered to be neutral, and she should treat him as such.

She let out a small demonic curse, and then closed her wings around her and vanished.

She had barely heard about it while in the Northern Barrens, but the griping over the stone was undeniable.

She was glad she kept her ties with Homeland. Nynra still felt loyalty to the people that sheltered her during her time in hiding, and she knew that they could call upon her if they required help. Sir Drakehide had done the same, after all, and she hoped he was well. But hearing about this warlock, this maddened woman required some sort of safety. Would it be right to give her help?

She is trusted by the homeland, but a woman of shadow...

She reflected upon the virtues for guidance in this situation;
Respect, to understand the connections between lives. Hers was to be severed, and all she sought was safety. It would benefit to aid her.
Tenacity, there was no question that aiding an old friend would be serving the light.
And Compassion...

Everyone deserves a second chance.

Her mind made, Nynra quickly penned out a note and handed it to her enchanted carpet. The magically sewn cloth took off with the letter in hand to search for the lost woman.

To Lady Jhulina of Homeland,

My name is Nynra Lirann Lightheart. I am an old friend and family member of Homeland, and a trusted ally of Greatmother Poni. A servant of the Light as well. I am also willing to help you hide within the Alliance.

Send word if you wish to speak further.

Light Bless You.

Nynra Lightheart

She sometimes wondered whose side she was on. She muttered a prayer to herself and reflected on the thought as her enchanted carpet flew to the hunt.

I serve the Light first and the Alliance second. This is a lost soul that needs aid in some form for safety. The Light will provide. Respect, Tenacity, Compassion.

She then went to her daily prayers at the Cathedral, singing a soft litany to herself.

He had been napping in the tree of his choice the previous night when the carpet came nosing in. It poked at him with one long thread, rousing him into an attempt at slapping it away.

The carpet slapped him back. Bralox yipped, rolling over and pausing in mid air, before the comical realization that orcs could not, in fact fly, when he came plummeting down to the earth. HE sat there, rubbing his bottom and waving a fist at the threaded terror. "Whaaat!" He whined it it. "Me busy!" shaking his head, he stood, wandering over to peer at the carpet.

It handed him a letter, but in fact, it was not addressed to him. Bralox nodded as if understanding the carpet, his internal AAMS radar making a mental blip.

He would aid this carpet in it's quest, for at the end.. there was one who needed ... Protection.

The woman, cloaked in shadows, had approached Pia. Gentyl searched for a translator and finally they learned what she wanted. She had been watching Pia and was interested in them. She was offering to spy on the horde for them in exchange for protection.

Gentyl shook her head. Not that they couldn't use the information, but that was too dangerous. "No, we will offer her safety if she desires, it, but they'll kill her if they find out and we can't protect her in horde lands."

The conversation continued and suddenly Arothand appeared. Fel. How much had he overheard?

Jhulina watched from her branch above as the orc had a conversation with a rug of all things. He took a roll of parchment from it and she watched as he looked it over, nodding. A letter? To someone who just happens to be near my location? That was not sent by accident. Retrieve it, Neeltom. She looked to her Felguard, and gave him a silent order. His voice rang in her head, the demonic whisperings of slave to master, and he suddenly jumped. He landed on his feet and swept his great axe until he had pinned the orc to the tree.

His deep voice boomed in the quiet forest. "You will give me that letter, shaman. Or you will pay with your life. Your choice."

Jhulina mused at his words. Not what she had ordered him to say, but she didn't voice her concerns. She had her methods, Neeltom had his.

Through her wings, invisible to everyone but her, she watched and waited. She tried to silently order the Felguard to be cautious, but he was only barely listening to her.

There were only a few things in known Azeroth that were large enough to pin the orc to a tree and get away with it. Unfortunately for him, The felguard was one of them.

Unfortunately for it, it was a fel guard. Bralox hated Fel Guards. His eyes seemed to darken slightly, crackling with the raw energy of the Elements themselves. He roared in anger and rage at the demon. It roared back in all it's demonic fury, Bralox roared again even louder, his own rage reaching heights known only to Orc-kind. His blood boiled and raced, traces of the demonic pact that his people had made some time ago.

But it was not his demon blood that controlled him any longer. It was he who controlled it. With a deep snarl, he pushed back on the handle of the axe. No longer was it leaning towards him, it was now perpendicular with the ground. Bralox snarled again, and brought his own fist, now nestled into one of his blades, up to strike. Three quick jabs, aimed at the Demons wrist had the desired effect. He let go of the axe. Bralox was not so kind as to relent to his now disarmed foe. He tossed the Axe aside, following up his wrist barrage with several shots to the Demons mid section. Try as he might, the demon could not match or parry the blows of the enraged orc.

Chest, chest, gut, chest chest chest chest, gut gut gut gut. Went the blows, an unwavering series of deadly, elemental imbued strikes. The demon howled once more, not in it's previous state of triumph, but anguish. It fel to it's hands and knees, seeming to pant for breath. In one decisive moment, Bralox bent, the fluid motion picking up the axe and bringing it up to strike, he let it hover over the Demon's exposed neck. "Lok'tar Ogar,." He snarled, bringing the demons own axe down upon it's neck.

As the form collapsed, Bralox rounded on the trees, specifically, the one from which the demon had jumped. "Show yourself, Warlock!" He bellowed. There was no indication in his voice that this was in any way optional.

Jhulina watched as the orc beat Neeltom to a pulp. She sighed. I hate cleaning up demon blood. The shaman had certainly had his fun. He called for her to show herself, and so she did.

Removing what was left of the invisibility spell, she revealed her demonic form. Great purple wings spread out from her back, cracking with demonic lightning. Two large horns sprouted from her head, and her eyes took on a bright purple glow. She leaned forward slightly and sprang from her branch above and landed on the orc heavily. She grasped his neck with powerful arms, but she could already feel the power draining from her. She would not be able to hold him long. She raised one of her arms and brought it down on his head, knocking him out.

Calling forth her Succubus and Imp, she handed them a cursed chain that would not let the orc use his power.

"Tie him to that tree. Tightly."

Darevere and Rulkol nodded together. Dare took her whip and wound it around the orc's wrist and began to drag him over to the tree.

She let the demonic form fade. Jhulina's true self slowly returned. She wore her corruptor's raiment with pride, and instead of purple, her eyes now glowed red. She watched with those eyes as the two set about their task, and then she remembered the letter. She looked around and found the letter still clutched in the shaman's hand, tightly. Jhulina let out a small demonic curse. The letter would surely tear if she tried to pry it from his hand.

Once the chain was secure, she dismissed the two minions, and went over to Neeltom. His head was in one place, his body in another. She picked up the head with some disgust, but she had done this many times already and was used to it. She reattached it to his neck and sealed the wound. The demon began to breathe again, but raggedly.

"Mistress, I.....have......failed you." He said, gasping for breath.

"Oh shut up. You'll be fine. You always have been." She gave him a slap across his face, hard. He had failed her and must be punished, but the orc had already done most of the beating. She removed a glove and set her hand on the Felguard's chest. Jhulina closed her eyes and let some of her power flow through her to the demon. The demon would be weak, but he would live. She got up from her position and put her glove back on. His axe was lying nearby and she retrieved it for him. She pushed it onto the demon's newly healed chest with some force.

She glared into his eyes, showing him her fury by invading his mind and slowly attacking it from within. "Do NOT....lose this....again."

Jhulina could feel his fear and she chuckled to herself. Demons. Can't live with them, can't live without them. She once again turned her attention to the orc, who was already beginning to stir.

((Holy cow!!! Thank you Bralox!!! This is turning out to be WAY more amazing than I had originally thought it would be :D ))

Bralox growled, attempting to budge himself from the tree. "Sneaky elf." He snarled. "I don't know why I would have been given orders to protect a little Demon spawn !@#$% Like yourself. Being tied to the tree did not prevent the orc from spitting, and so he did. A great glob of saliva traversing the distance to land square on her forehead.

"You had better hope that your treatment of an AAMS Courier does not reflect on whatever hell spawned operation takes you in." He snarled, his very muscles bulging against the chain that held him. "You had better hope I don't get out of here, Fel spawn Bet'hak." He spat on the ground this time. "Or there may be a little accident that your shield Guard couldn't save you from." His eyes were beginning to calm, but his features still smoldered.

Æthelgyth had been searching for Bralox for some time, her search finally bringing her to Winterspring. She was surveying the area from the sky, on her proto-drake. She sighed, her search had seemed futile. Taking one last pass over the area, she notices a dark figure, with a few smaller dark figures. Guiding the drake to the ground, she notices an orc tied to a tree. "Bralox?!" She charges the Warlock, swords leading the way. "What are you doing to him?"

She grabs her and tosses her to the ground.

Jhulina heard the footsteps coming, but by the time she had looked up, she was already on the ground. She suddenly felt lightheaded and blacked out.
