Everyone that got banned from AllianceOOC for no reason today, August 6, rage in here.

I guess Kod just snapped or something.

He lived up to the RPers' expectations. Nothing more.

Just transferred over to Cenarion Circle, mostly looking to see if this will be a good home for me come MoP (I'm looking to re-roll a druid from scratch and RP with her as I go). Joined AllianceOOC this evening as suggested by the sticky - only to get banned for no reason that I can comprehend.

I wouldn't say that I'm 'raging' or anything, but I am a bit disappointed. Is this sort of behavior the norm, or is this more of a fluke incident?

Yeah i just logged in and i had no idea why but i had to inter a password to join the channel :(

To those that're first time joining CC: This is not normal. At. All.

Apparently one of our more RP-hating community members has decided to lash out at everyone by locking the channels. Hopefully it's resolved shortly.

In the meantime, HearthstoneIC for both sides is (to my knowledge) still accessible. If required, we'll make another OOC channel for both sides.

And the case for being able to make persistent owned channels as other games have appears to have now been made.

I know Blizzard doesn't moderate player-created channels at all, but I do encourage people to file a ticket about this one, especially people who were actually banned.

It may not be possible to unlock the actual /AllianceOOC channel, but the GMs should at least be able to see that it is in fact one person causing malicious harm if they get enough reports.

I'm disappointed...the OOC channels have been a strong tool since we started using them, and using the arbitrarily-assigned mod permissions to ban anyone or lock people out is just plain vandalism.

Because this is the internet, and there's always at least one guy who has to throw stones to make himself feel better.

The internet sucks. it really does.

There are other RP channels to join--hearthstoneIC, RPNewbies (really needs more credit given, I tell ya!), and the alternate channel Mialera has listed. And of course, various guild OOC channels, including mine, if you're polite and ask nicely first. :)

Failing that, feel free to whisper me or any of the other RPer names you see floating around on the forums--I believe they'd be happy enough to help get you acquainted to CC.

I read a post just now that had been posted an hour ago. The OOC channel appears to be open again. No password, no ban.
