Well, for the folks who are more competitively or achievemently (new word!) inclined, being realm first is a big deal :3 I'm with you on taking it slow and enjoying the new xpac, but I'm sure there's a rush of pleasure when you see you get to be realm's first something or other!
I don't understand the thing about being realm first...Fishing's just my thing. I fished up Old Crafty in Orgrimmar and Old Ironjaw before there were achievements (and then went back to fish them up again after achievements were added, since they weren't retroactively granted to me for some reason), did the fishing tourney thing in Vanilla, etc.
