It's been a long time (4 months i think) since i've been to wintergrasp and want to know if anything has changed. I at least know the horde have noticed me not there as when i'm in a battle i go get an RPG and start blowing up vehicles (record 12 vehicles in one battle). I assume it must be nearly empty since Cata came out.
Has Wintergrasp Changed?
Wintergrasp is now a 1 to 1 entrance battle. So basically you will never be outnumbered unless somebody on your team decideds to leave during the fight. Similarly you will not be allowed to enter the zone (while in progress) unless there is another Horde also waiting to enter. Battles still happen weekly - daily - hourly, depending on interest, but I can imagine that right now it's pretty stagnant with the rush to 85 and all that entails with leveling. I believe there is a thread on this page of one Alliance trooper who rejoiced at the victory of a 2 vs 2 battle. But in summation, all that owning Wintergrasp will do for you (besides getting achievements) is give you a 5% exp bonus in Northrend and a 6 or 7 pt Honor reward for killing Northrend Dungeon bosses. Roughly 21-35 honor per random, which is to say - rather equivalent to a single half hour random battleground. Fun fun.
Nope Alliance still hardly makes any attempt to take it >:P
