Out of curiosity, what is the point of even differentiating between 10 and 25? The achievements are the same, so it's impossible to track group size... The difficulty is supposed to be balanced between the two formats...

Probably because (having done many of these encounters on both 10 and 25) its very easy to see that 10 man is still far easier than 25. The nature of most encounters simply means that they are harder to execute on 25 and it will probably always be that way, no matter what Blizzard desires (until and unless they change cast ranges and make the environments different for 25 and 10).
That being said, I think it might be easier to show progression as something like:
BWD: Mm, O, C, A (with the bolding and underlining indicating which kills were done on 25 man.)
Either way, it is quite possible to track between 10 and 25 kills and has value given the difference in difficulty, IMO.

Let's not have this thread turn into a debate needless to say though I said the reason to differentiate in the OP and I will repeat it again. There are several people on this server that when looking for a new guild want to see what guilds provide what, whether they are a high end progression guild for the server, medium end, low end even. Whether they provide the their favorite kind of content whether that be 10 or 25 man content, and for that reason alone we differentiate so the outside viewer can easily use this as an index of guilds progress and type before looking more in depth into the guild.
