((Hey everyone. Way back in Vanilla I had a Human priest named Publius. He never got passed level 10 (in fact he's level 8), but I always had fond memories of my brief time there by the simple fact that I played him as an absolutely fanatic priest-- concerned with protecting purity and destroying anything remotely impure. It was on that basis that I started "The Church of Radiant Minds" all those years ago, and sought to bind other crusaders to my cause. Though I had gained the title of Cardinal Publius and had a few dedicated paladins in my court, things didn't last.
In character, Publius is absolutely devoted to humanity above all else. This makes him somewhat paranoid of and stern with elves , dwarfs and gnomes, and entirely denouncing toward Worgen and Dranei. For him, the proliferation of perverted forms-- of foreign creatures like the above is quite unbearable. It is clear to him that there is as much threat to the alliance on the inside as on the outside. For his brief time, he often spent it in goldshire handing out potions and bread to the pure and deserving and trying to gain more members to the flock to combat what he sees as heresies. In short, he was a fun character-- made as many enemies as friends, and really typifies the dangers of faith-- even in the light. ))
((All this said, my main character is and will be the Hunter you see to the left-- My RL friends play there and that won't change, but as someone who loves RP, I find the RP servers call to me, at least to make an alternate. And no call is ever quite so strong as the memories I had with Publius. So while I'm not sure how much I'll get to play (as a uni student, nearly in graduate studies) and I'm saddened to leave the Church even if it is no longer active, I wondered if there might be a place for Publius in a guild who might be able to handle his... staunch devotion, and his capacity to suspect the worst in the races he pre-judges.
((EDIT: here is a listing of things I'm looking for in a guild and things you can expect from me and from Publius
- I am a casual player, university student who has less time than he'd like. I thoroughly enjoy RP and have attempted to find ways to do it (even just to shoe it in) since D&D (pen and paper and live, once) all the way through to MMOs Star Wars Galaxies, Face of Mankind, and even Planetside
-The understanding that this character is a much loved alternate and a big part of my WoW RP history is important, but I cannot overstress the fact that he is an alt, simply put. I may be on once or twice a week on average.
- I've looked at the guild list, and I feel like Pillar of Honor (I believe it is) might be well suited to both me as a gamer and possibly Publius, but, I'm not sure if they (or anyone) would consider allowing in a strictly alternate character who is as fiery, surly and rash as Publius.
- I am and always will be interested in world pvp and rp, and the meshing of the two.
More about Publius:
Publius believes danger is all around us, and while he is not maniacle or insane about it, he is devoted in the extreme to the purging of impurities both in the alliance and outside of it. He might be likened to a Scarlet priest in terms of his fanaticism, but the key is: It's war out there, and Publius will never stand idle in the face of what he views as corruption. He is not above having an entire family killled for nefarious use of dark arts for example, and has been known to cross blades with warlocks of all descriptions.
- He will be on a soapbox frequently-- warning others about impending corruptions in /say. He is a sermon-maker, a fiery voice on the pulpit and for that he can be both inspiring or dangerous. It is not an easy task to find him likeable unless you are already on the path to salvation with both feet firmly planted.
- He denies knowledge of shadow magic, though has been seen putting the 'corrupt' to great pain through the use of simple word...
-He is a religious fanatic driven by a vision of salvation (whether warped or not), and will not stop for foe or friend regardless of context, in the name of that vision. The prolferation of purity is all that matters, in the end, to Publius. You decide whether he is good or evil, of course. He knows where he stands
-He is a fatherly figure to the righteous and those who do not question what need be done
- While he once ran the Church of Radiant Minds and had several devoted fighters at his disposal, his age is far advanced now and he understands that, for the time, he is no longer in a position to command men. At least, in how things stand. He is a willing to accept a rank-and-file role ))
(( I'm simply looking for a new guild home for this fellow to slowly level in, and regain some of those fun memories I had playing him-- I hope there may be one or two guilds out there that Publius might logically affiliate with))
Thanks all! :)
