Thinking of hosting an event? Here are some things to think about:

Take a look at the calendar, try to pick a date that there are no other events present, or think about partnering with an event that is running! That way you are not fighting another event for attention.
Make sure you have all the pertinent information in your event post: who, what, where, why and main contacts are a good start.
Tag your event in the title with [EVENT], [A-EVENT], or [H-EVENT]. These are attention getters.
Advertise! Post your event in the forum, in trade and LFG channels in game, ask for a link to be posted here, or in the weekly spotlight. You can also try the places like tumblr, Roleplayer Crossroads, and the cross realm forum. (All links are listed below)

Supporting events are a good way to make sure that our server continues to have public RP happen… show the love by attending the events, and if you can’t attend, try bumping an event post with some positive and kind comments.

I think this is correct. I remember when I'd realized the Big Bash was on the same night as the running of the gnomes, I frantically tried looking this up, trying to see if it was the case, and it turns out the running was a few hours before the start of the bash. I just can't remember when exactly, just that it wouldn't impede it too much.

Least I hope.
