Suni's Guide to RPing a Worgen

Thank you! There's a little interesting post on the forums that I didn't cover about if the worgen could transfer the curse. I believe it's spread through blood now, but if anyone ever has a question like that, I'd go there:

Although, if it isn't spread through blood, chances of biting and having the curse being inflicted upon others seems very low.

First Question: I think the amount of real time that has passed by, which would be about two weeks because the Shattering happened, and in the worgen starting area, 1-6 is before the Cataclysm ever happens. Two weeks could be easily compared to your life as a human, because worgen are very much like that and have similar time spans. Therefore, keep in mind those "two weeks".

Second Question: Totally. Be upset. I loved Liam, both ICly and OOCly. [This is a spoiler thread] My worgen named Guinn was hilarious. A fantasizer, and she still pines over it. Losing one of Gilneas' favorite children should really be harsh to the worgen. You can move on, but I wouldn't say instantly "suck it up".

A lot of it is personal preference and specific to how that character thinks and acts. Even with or without the time period, the personality of one effects their RP. If they're generally emotional, they might be effected long-term. I hope that helped. :)

Useless bump.
I'd like to see this thread applied to more worgen!

Damn.
I was planning to make my worgen as dark-skinned as possible. Would this still be viable?

That shouldn't be a problem, before it's isolation, Gilneas had trade and relations with the other Human kingdoms. You could have Southern Azeroth in your bloodline. Given that darker skins are chooseable, it's fully within lore to be as dark skinned as the model creator will allow.

I suspect that part of the relief of the affliction removes the possibility of transmitting the curse to others.

When you are in your human form and someone puts their mouse over you does it say you are a worgen or Gilnean?

Worgen.

Yup. However, at least if you use MRP, you can set it so that other MRP users see your race as 'Gilnean' (or pretty much anything, but the idea is *not* to go crazy with it).

Hello, my name is Rhorin. I RPd as a worgen before it was cool (early Wrath).

Rhorin Marken was a Gilnean, about 16 the year the wall was put up, in fact, he left before it's construction started, to get a different atmosphere, and to spread his small fur selling buisniness. He stayed in Lordaeron for a few years, finally attempting to return to Gilneas. Only, he found a huge wall in its stead. Saddened greatly, he felt the need to try to die (can you say emo?), and joined the Lordaeron army, hoping to get himself killed, but, he became a more cynical person, darker, no longer wishing to die.

He was one of the footmen who helped Arthas in
Stratholme, and inevitably the expedition to Lordaeron. Though, like Thassarian, he became a death knight. Though the "gift" of undeath came upon him as he returned to Lordaeron, in Northrend he found Arthas' errs, though it was too late. He parted ways with Arthas in the dead of night, sneaking away, though his way to Lordaeron was blocked, by large, wolflike beasts. He had not fully come into his death knight power, and was sill alive (and free from the Scourge).

Though his foes were many, he was able to fight them off. He was though, inevitably bitten, only once, though it was enough to curse him, and stop the flow of undeath to him. He fled to the repaired Stormwind, seeing it as his only option.

Today, Rhorin lives as a Gilnean in Stormwind, faking the accent of their people no longer, as the Gilneans came. He still, however, hides the curse that lie upon him, his will and alchemy enough to save him before his mind was lost, years before. He has joined an order of humans and worgen, fighting in Silverpine and Gilneas.

Note: I made this character before I read Lore, so I had no idea who Rhonin was.

Note 2: Don't flame me if this is Mary Sue, I'm just trying to fit in him being a living death knight (which HAS been proven plausible) with being a worgen. It makes most peoples' heads spin... Sadface.

I love this! I say bump. There are a few people who don't seem to understand that a worgen itsn't a puppy dog >.<

I mean, sure, they can rp as they like... but maybe at least make it a viscious doggy >.<

This also really helped me to figure out how I was developing my worgen character for rping, and showed me the slight areas I was going wrong. Thanks a loads =3

Bumping myself. This is getting closer to being stickied, and I'd love to help more worgen RPers out there! :D
Happy Winter's Veil to all you worgen and other citizens of Azeroth, as well.

Bumping again.

I did the Carnage arena in the Twilight Highlands the other day with a worgen. It seems as some methods of travel they prefer carriages with horses as travel. I can infer that bareback or at least saddling a horse is more for equestrian sport and literal traveling is used with carriages! (Which, apparently, some still have.)

OK, so could we maybe get some discussion in here about the plausibility/playability of non-Gilnean worgen?

Had a conversation a little about this on WrA today, and about how that might play out - feral worgen regaining their sanity, specifically.

Some people figured that it could be plausible with help (i.e. working with... whotshisname... Krennan Aranas(?) ) or consulting the druids or what have you. That sounds likely enough. On the other hand, me, I've been working on a character since LONG before Cata dropped who partially regained sanity on his own, without magic -- though it didn't completely work, mind, because I reckon even a strong minded human would have issues regaining sanity all by his onesies. It's not a neat-and-tidy solution like the one given in the Gilnean starting zone, so it's got its own problems (obviously) but I like to think it's got merit.

Sooo, have you got any thoughts on this topic? How plausible do you think it is to RP out ex-feral worgen?
