((I am doing this transpose a little bit different and leaving the rolls in. Sometimes it's fun to see how rolls determine how you respond to events real time. Probably some errors in the tenses too, I will edit as I find them ))
Trenetir sat perusing the bills of lading that came in. He carefully surveyed each one, ensuring that each of his shipments was received. Where there was an error he set the parchment aside, making a careful notation in his ledger. Trenetir was nothing if not thorough.
Yuuko walked quietly in from the curtains, leaned against some crates and nodded at Trenetir.
Trenetir sat down his quill and looked to Yuuko, leaning back in his seat, 'What news do you bring?" he turned to look at her asking, "Poisoned and dying? Poisoned and dead? .... or simply... Poisoned..."
A perturbed looked crossed Yuuko’s face as she answered "Poisoned, but somehow still alive and walking"
Trenetir stood angry at this news, "So you have failed... Twice."
Yuuko narrowed her eyes at Trenetir and retorted "The target is resilient, maybe this is not meant to be"
Trenetir inhaled and exhaled slowly, "Not. Meant. To. Be."
Yuuko raised a brow staring back "Correct. That is what I said I believe. I have not encountered one so able to survive. She cheats death as if a hand from above is watching over her. Nay I am no longer comfortable with her destruction by my hand. Perhaps there is another way to ruin her?
Trenetir looked down at his ledgers then raised his gaze slowly to her. His eyes flashed bright white, "What I am hearing is that my housekeeper is unable and unwilling to take out the trash.. not once...but twice. Fail me once shame on you, fail me twice....” he glared at her.
Yuuko locked her gaze on him glaring back and walked to the table
Trenetir spoke “You have not been in my service for long but let us consider the possibilities. Tell me Yuuko, do you see anyone in my employ that appears to be a failure?”
Yuuko turned her head slowly to Trenetir "My actions were not ones of failure. You know damn well she should not have survived. And as for your question, no"
Trenetir stepped closer to her, "Tell me, do you refuse the task to finish the job?"
Yuuko almost spat as she glares back "I choose my life." she exhaled sharply "If I attempt another attack now, it would be foolish and unwise!", she removed her dagger from her sheath and tossed it on the desk “You want her dead? Do it yourself!”
Trenetir withdrew the dagger from his desk, looking almost forlornly at the notch in the well treated wood as his wrist flicked, letting the dagger fly with expertise, seeking to impale itself in the forearm of her sword hand. The volcano within flashed within his eyes, which burned like the embers of coals. His hand immediately went to his sword and drew it, his shield at the ready. This was a man poised not to maim, but to kill.
Yuuko gasped in shock; she clutched her arm and looked at the dagger, its blade firmly buried in her arm. She took a few steps backwards and exclaimed “What the fel has gotten into you!” her stance changed to one of defense. She winced as she removed the dagger.
All semblance of calm is gone, all composure has been thrown out the window as Trenetir stood up to his full height, towering over her as he lunged at her, sword first. "You have failed me. Tell me Yuuko, do I strike you as a man who tolerates failure?"
Yuuko parried to her right, keeping a sharp eye at Trenetir "You are not being reasonable. You attacking me is a folly you shall soon regret”
