100 Goblin Warlock

After briefly talking with Zurom last night about what traits his characters might have if they were followers I thought it would be fun to make a topic about it. The idea is simple. If your characters happened to be garrison followers what abilities and traits would make the most sense thematically for them to have? It is fine to disregard the in-game restrictions if you feel it fits the theme of your character.

If you are unsure of what all the different abilities and traits are then you can find them here:

http://www.wowhead.com/guides/garrisons/followers/warlords-of-draenor-follower-guide

Now I'll start first :3

Gnomebane Mormel
Goblin Destruction Warlock

Abilities
-Rain of Fire [For some insane reason Destro followers can't get this. It's stupid.]
-Summon Infernal

Traits
-Alchemy
-Economist
-Scavenger

Rain of Fire and Summon Infernal are both spells Mormel has used IC. They also appropriately fit her reputation as a "fire mage". Alchemy and Economist are obvious choices since she is an established alchemist who naturally gets along well with other goblins. Finally her business skills and pursuit of profit enables her to obtain more resources via the Scavenger trait.

Gerhilda Colbrew
Dwarven Fire Mage

Abilities
-Conjure Food [Normally limited to Inn Arcane Mages but it fits Gerhilda perfectly]
-Polymorph

Traits
-Hearthstone Pro
-Humanist
-Epic Mount

Conjure Food I feel is self explanatory and Gerhilda has had some... "success" with the Polymorph skill before. Hearthstone Pro is a nod to her sheltered geeky side while Humanist represents her time living in Stormwind and thriving more in human culture than she ever did in Ironforge. Epic Mount is a reference to her "cat" Felicia who has not only enabled Gerhilda to do things she normally couldn't but in a very speedy/efficient manner.

Fun! I'll play:

Arjah - Fire Mage

Abilities
Polymorph (Deadly Minions)
Counterspell (Powerful Spell)

Traits
Extra Training (increase all follower EXP gains for missions by 35%)
Voodoo Zealot (increased success chance when accompanying another troll)
Dancer (counters Danger Zones)

The reasoning: Arjah's not actually a very good mage, and has long relied on comical and non-lethal argument-enders like turning people into turtles or cutting off their speech in lieu of fighting (and probably losing) a duel. Thus, Polymorph/Counterspell for abilities.

Extra Training stems from all her years as a teacher of one sort or another, Voodoo Zealot is obvious given her long activism on behalf of the Horde's trolls (and her dalliances with "Darkspear Nationalism" and other radical troll movements, back before it was cool/patched-in), and Dancer, well...she's never been shy about shaking her fanny. It was that or "High Stamina," if you know what I mean.

That said, Arjah would make a terrible follower. Do you know how many jobs she's been fired from? You're probably better off keeping her Inactive.

Ooo, this looks neat!

Ketyru Pathwander - Halforcen Enhancement Shaman

Abilities: Feral Spirits (counters Massive Strike), and Chain Lightning (counters Minion Swarms)

Traits: Epic Mount (She never goes anywhere without faithful Broxigaar, her Wind Rider), Lone Wolf (for obvious reasons), and Fast Learner ('cause you gotta learn fast when you're on your own).

Suzannah of Stormwind - Human Beast Mastery Hunter

Abilities: Feign Death counters Wild Aggression), and Disengage (Danger Zones [picked this one purely for the time I fell off a cliff and somehow managed to keep the presence of mind to hit Disengage at the right second and save my pathetic life. My pet was not as lucky.])

Traits: Naturalist (she was raised in Elwynn Forest, after all), Gnome-Lover (Gnomes are the only people she'll actually smile for), and Orcslayer (because reasons. Stupid pig-faced greenskins!).

Saint Bloodwing

Abilities
Mind Sear (Minion Swarms)
Shadowfiend (Timed Battle)

Traits
Death Fascination (Works better with Forsaken)
Voidslayer (Good at kililn dead stuff and Aberrations)
High Stamina (Giggidy)

Okay. So now that I've behaved long enough to fulfill the requirements present at the outset of this thread, I'm going to fabricate some of my OWN follower traits. They are in fact intended to be ludicrously broken, because that's how I do.

Saint Bloodwing

Abilities
Power Word: Lucidity - Utter a command in the verse of creation, stripping the will of all who hear it down to base motor function and rendering them incapable of much more than drooling placidly on their stupid shirts. Counters Deadly Minions and Minion Swarm.

Nightsear - The ever-screaming pit of the Otherside harbors only contempt for your pitiful displays of magicry. Liore hurls a bolt of fathomless darkness that unties the fabrics of magic surrounding his target, burrowing a black hole into the very fibers of their being. Counters Magic Debuff and Powerful Spell.

Traits
Blessing - Words of praise, or a gesture of kindness go far in steeling the hearts of the uncertain. Grants additional experience and success rate for each accompanying follower.
Malediction - When presented with a force they cannot comprehend, the enemy will look to one another for clarity, for support. They will find only fear. Increases success rate of missions involving 2 or more enemy targets.
Broodywing - Reaching into unspeakable places for power comes at a high price. Liore invokes a cooldown of one use per week. Upon his return from the selected mission, he locks himself up in some bleak, rainy tower presumably to fret shirtlessly over his cello and reflect on his unwholesome deeds.

90 Blood Elf Monk

Asimenios Dies'Irae

Abilities
Spear-Hand Strike - (Powerful Spell)
Provoke - (Wild Aggression)

Traits
Burst of Power - (Shorter Missions higher success. Due to short attention span.)
Scavenger - (He who has nothing, has everything to borrow.)
Bodyguard - (A lvl 2 Barracks will allow you to tote around your very own sarcastic fussy brawler!)

With the bodyguard trait, Asime joins you in the field whenever you go adventuring in Draenor. Whenever you mount, he surfs beside you on a narrow board of chi. Upon quest completion, he will give you a big smile and two thumbs up, a gesture which dissolves into an expression of loathing as soon as your back is turned.

Gaining bodyguard rep with Asime unlocks several fantastic perks!

Lvl 1 - Sleep, Fight, or !@#$

Asimenios must be engaged in one of the three above activities, or he begins foaming at the mouth. If he has not been in combat for five minutes he will start in on one of the other two; gorging on chicken nuggets and passing out on the ground, or hitting on your character or any pretty thing that happens to be in sight.

Lvl 2 - Storm, Wind, Fire

When facing multiple opponents, Asime will divide his chi into two mirror images, cannonballing headfirst upon arrival. When their targets have been defeated, the two images remain for a while, boo'ing the player character and high fiving each other. When pressed to stop making so much racket, Asime will spread his hands helplessly and claim he'd love to make them stop but he has no control over how they act. This is a lie.

Lvl 3 - Not a Loner

Well hey look at that, you farmed your way up to reputation cap. Asime likes you enough to stop pulling your pigtails and start treating you like a peer. When he spews his usual nihilistic brand of snark and smarm, he now does it with a crooked, private half smile in your direction. He is now a permanent guardian, going so far as to trail you while you rp, blowing up your phone with sappy drunktexts, or sneaking between the sheets to cuddle after a long day's adventure. Just don't break his heart this time, hmm?

Jilli "Tink" Freeblink

Abilities
Power Infusion
Arcane Rune

Traits
Enchanter
Bodyguard
Counterspell

Explanation:
I'm guilty. I really don't know the dynamics of follower abilities and traits well enough to choose, so I'm going off of what I've seen some followers do during quests and such.

I really wanted the mage from Talador (mage tower) to be a bodyguard, only because I think it'd be fun to run around on my mage with a mage follower doing magery things. So to that end I made Tink here a bodyguard :)

She's intended to follow a fellow mage (specifically my human mage-Spectral, for RP reasons), but I suppose any other caster could possibly benefit. Meant to be completely utilitarian. idk, maybe she'd be the worst follower ever but I'd have fun with it. :)

As a bodyguard, in combat, ...
  • she'd cast a power boosting buff and throw down arcane runes at your feet all with the intent of boosting mana regen and buffing spell power.
  • If you pulled two or more attackers, she'd randomly select from the ones you weren't currently attacking and use a random polymorph (sheep, rabbit, pig, etc.) for crowd control. She'd also randomly select a caster from the bunch and silence using her Counterspell at every given chance.
  • She'd also offer a few select nifty things depending on your reputation such as more powerful buffs, larger crowd control spells, and a few fun things like randomly turning you into a sprite darter or some such.
  • That's it.
    No offensive spells whatsoever.
  • If she's attacked she'll pop up a frost shield, pop presence of mind, and sheep the one attacking her. If she has more than one assailant she'd then continuously blink back and forth until you pulled them off her or she's defeated.

  • Out of combat you'd be able to click on her for a teleportation dialog, where you could select any major outpost on Draenor and port there, including a neutral flight master in Frostfire.

While she's not following me around I'd like to have her ever present in my Garrison, and since my mage now Enchants it'd be neat to have Tink hanging around and helping out at my Enchanter's Hut.

Because it would be humorous to me, everytime the cell populates, no matter where she is, Tink will randomly have a chance of producing a large explosion that will coat her, the area around her and any nearby npcs (including you) in smoking black soot for the next few minutes; thus illustrating why she doesn't use offensive spells.

Here is my attempt, feel free to give me feedback if you know the characters.

Zurom Stormsong- Blood Elf - Demonology Warlock
    Abilities
    Metamorphosis - Timed Battle
    Unending Resolve - Massive Stirke

    Traits
    Death Fascination
    Voidslayer
    Demonslayer

Almost wanted to give him Enchanting but figured his training in fighting the legion and scourge where more important to his character than that. Uses Metamorphosis rarely In character, but does use it. Uses Unending Resolve A LOT and Death Fascination was a must since he works for Sylvanas.
    —————————————————————

Swizelle Sparkstyx- Goblin - Frost Mage
    Abilities
    Polymorph - Timed Battle
    Ice Block - Massive Strike

    Traits
    Elvenkind
    Economist
    Voodoo Zealot

Yes, three racial preferences but I think it is due to her ability to make friends and since she likes to be around others. Just so happens that theses others are usually of those 3 races. Was thinking of Fast Learner. Since she picks up a lot of things pretty fast but wouldn’t know which racial pref to get rid of. Plus she is also a bit slow if she is not paying attention which happens… a lot. Also Had to give her Polymorph Thats like her thing! If only there was a summon elemental ability but Ice Block fits that.

    —————————————————————

Ahdes - Undead - Combat Rouge
    Abilities
Fan of Knives - Minion Swarm
    Kick - Powerful Spell

    Traits
    Leatherworking
    Beastslayer
    Burst of Power

His was easy but only if Beastslayer was called Worgen Slayer. I miss Fan of Knives as a spell for combat but he is a fan of knives.

    —————————————————————

Vi’Ta Tidetusk- Troll - Resoration Shaman
    Abilities
    Water Shield - Timed Battle
    Purify Spirit - Magic Debuff

    Traits
    Voodoo Zealot
    Herbalism
    Guerilla Fighter

Voodoo Zealot for her loa connection. Guerilla Fighter
and Herbalism do to her mostly collection herbs and training in Stranglethorn.

    —————————————————————

Darzurom - Blood Elf - Unholy Deathknight
    Abilities
    Dark Command - Wild Aggression
Death and Decay - Minion Swarms

    Traits
    Lone Wolf
    Voidslayer
    Demonslayer

Why is Anti-Magic Shell for frost only. I don’t get that I would put it on Dar it fits SOOOO well. And Dark Command fits his king complex.
    —————————————————————

Zuramon Stormsong- Highborne Night Elf - Arcane Mage
    Abilities
    Counterspell - Powerfel Spell
    Blink - Danger Zone

    Traits
    Child of the Moon
    Enchanting
    High Stamina

Not sure why but he was harder to make a follower out of him. Not a lot to work with to get his character down. Counter spell works but wish there was an arcane blast or arcane explosion. Also other than being a powerful Mage and only really liking his own kind while tolerating others not a lot there for traits.

Should I make one for Nazxia too? I mean not all follower races are playable races let me know.

Alright then For Dar I'll switch out Death and Decoy for Anti-Magic Shell since he trys to defend himself against warlock magic a lot. Also Made one for Naz and did one better by making one for Ba Da too.

Nazxia - Succubus Demon - Affliction Warlock?
    Abilities
    Drain Life - Group Damage
    Fear - Deadly Minions

    Traits
    Elvenkind
    Demonslayer
    Voidslayer

    -------------------------------------
Ba Da Boom - Imp Demon - Destruction Warlock?
    Abilites
Singe Magic - Magic Debuff (Usually for Affliction)
Rain of Fire - Minion Swarms (Usually for Affliction or Demonology)

    Triats
    Scavenger
    Wastelander
    Burst of Power

Weird Affliciton would be on Nazxia and Destruction on BaDa but to give them the right abilities they need to be the other one. Did someone switch where Drain Life and Rain of Fire goes for the specs? I can explain more about why I picked The traits I did but you could most likely guess. kinda wanna see one for Bragdus Now.

I have no clue who picked the Warlock follower abilities but they obviously knew nothing about the specs :-/

Anyway, ask and you shall receive ;P

    Bragdus
    Observer Demon

    Abilities
    -Spell Lock
    -Summon Infernal

    Traits
    -Fast Learner
    -Economist
    -High Stamina

Spell Lock is a defining ability of an Observer and Summon Infernal (more specifically an Abyssal) is a spell Bragdus has used IC on numerous occasions. Bragdus is very intelligent and able to adapt his plans to changing circumstances, hence Fast Learner. He also has a history of working for goblin warlocks so that is where the Economist comes from... in addition to having a thing for goblin girls but he prefers to keep that a secret. Finally High Stamina refers to Bragdus being methodical and patient while working towards his goals.

    Fan of Knives (Minion Swarms)
    Evasion (Massive Strike)

    Traits:
    Orcslayer
    Combat Experience
    Bodyguard*

*Note* If chosen as Bodyguard: Arlston will grant the player a buff, "You're being followed..." and while out of combat, Arlston is invisible. Upon entering combat, Arlston will appear behind the target and open with Ambush, then assist in doing damage to the target. Upon leaving combat, Arlston vanishes again.

Lv1: Arlston opens with a cheap shot first. Then ambush, before beginning to assist the player in doing damage.

Lv2: Arlston grants the player Evasion for ten seconds upon player reaching 20% health if targets are less than 10 yards away, and grants Cloak of Shadows if the target is more than 10 yards away.

Lv3: Arlston's initial Ambush instantly kills it's target. (Does not work on Elite monsters or other players).3 minute cooldown.

    Survival Hunter
    Abilities
    -Deterrence
    -Multi-Shot
    Traits
    -Engineering
    -Scavenger
    -Economist

Reason for deterrence is that Rhazin's been out in the field long enough to know when best to protect himself so he can get some distance between him and his enemy. For multi-shot its because he has practiced shooting for a fair length of his life along with being an engineer has modified his weapon to fire out a burst of shot when needed. As for engineering its something his father taught him and he's kept at for years on end, whether it was just little toys to working on siege machines for the horde. Scavenger comes from learning both a bit of the business trade in having to find the best deals along with scrounging around to survive when needed. Finally economist because before the horde he has worked alongside other goblins for so long in the cartels he just gets along very well with them.

    Bhaldir Coldbrew
    Fury Warrior
    Abilities
    -Cleave
    -Recklessness
    Traits
    -Blacksmithing
    -Burst of Power
    -Orcslayer

With Bhaldir, I went with cleave because besides the rare times he goes sword and board, he's usually carrying around a massive pair of weapons on his back Having been trained by his father along with the military trainers in Iron Forge, he has picked up figuring the right time to swing out and hit multiple opponents at once. Though course this training doesn't help when he lets himself get over his head which is why he chose recklessness cause at times he does foolishly charge in at times but if lucky can make several well placed on strong strikes. As is tradition with some dwarven families, many of the members take upon themselves the smiths craft. While the Coldbrews are more well known for their brewing and baking, few in the clan have earned the right to know their way at the forge as well. Cause a hard days work can make any day better along with a good brew or pastry. I chose burst of power cause when the going gets tough, this dwarf knows when to push back and do it hard, helping out those with his as best he can. Finally orcslayer is just cause while has been pushing it back for some time he still detests the orcs, mostly the dragonmaw for what they did to Grim Batol among other places. While he does respect many in the Horde, the new foes in the Iron Horde better beware.
