Suzy awoke with a start as her hand slipped and her forehead hit the desk. "Owww," she moaned as she rubbed her head, and leaned back into her chair with a sigh. Now.. she thought, looking around, where was I? The table in front of her was covered with papers, gears, tools, and other odds and ends. Here, a schematic for a new part for her flying machine, there - a formula for a *hopefully* non-explosive rocket fuel. In the middle, half covering a chili recipe, was the paper she'd been working on - outlining an academic hierarchy built on half-remembered knowledge taught to her when she was just a little girl. She looked it over, made a couple of adjustments (it's Pro-vost instead of Pro-most, right?) and sat back again, hearing the echo of the words from her friend, Vierdri, spoken a few hours earlier.
"Ach! I'm sick of your dreaming! You want a University, Suzy, like your father's?" Vierdri said in her characteristic gruff and direct manner, "Then start one you silly girl! You're a natural leader, and you have students all around you! What is keeping you?"
"Are you kidding Vie? You've seen my workshop, I've got parts lost in there I'll probably never find! How am I supposed to organize a University? I mean you, you probably could... I've seen your lists, and the way you keep your gear. You're so organized it actually scares me sometimes..." She paused and thought for a moment, "You know... could you, I mean, would you be willing to help me? I'm thinking together we might actually be able to do this."
"Ha! Of course Suzy, I was waiting for you to ask!" Vierdri said, and reached over to grab Suzy's hand. "You saved my life back in Icecrown my friend, and I haven't forgotten that. I owe you a lot more than this. Besides, this 'university' idea of yours sounds like fun!" She slapped her hand down on the table, "It's settled then, we'll start a new Stormwind University! So," she said, grinning, in formal tone, "Miss President, what is our next step?"
Suzy smiled at her friend, then looked down in thought for a moment. "Dean... it's Dean instead of President. I'm pretty sure anyway. I think I need to sit down and try to recall everything my mother told me about father's school. Let's meet again tomorrow and we'll get started. And Vie... thank you." She stood, leaned over to give Vierdri a big hug, then gave her farewell and ran off to her shop.
Back in her chair, Suzy's thoughts now drifted towards her father, whom she barely remembered. A large, bearded figure, resplendent in his academic robes, was the only image she had based on the one remaining painting she had seen of him. He had died in the first war, valiantly defending his students during the razing of Stormwind by the Orcish Horde. Most of her information about him and the University he constructed was secondhand from her mother. She had idolized him as a child, and admittedly still did. As she began to drift back off to sleep, the corner of her mouth turned up in a soft smile, her last thought was that she'd never felt closer to him than she did right now - working to resurrect his life's work.

((Hello Wyrmrest Accord! Stormwind University, a new med/heavy RP guild is now hiring new faculty for the upcoming term. Come join Azeroth's newest, and soon to be most prestigious, institute for higher learning as we work to bring the light of knowledge to this world - and beyond!
We are open to all classes, races, and backgrounds, though you'll need to be able to articulate why your character is interested in becoming a faculty member at our University. We're interesting in building a friendly, inclusive, mature, and supportive medium-sized RP community over all, and would like players who want to help us do so!
We’re primarily a social RP guild, but also have plans for PVP and PVE activities. We'd like to get a guild storyline around PVP, and may even get a raiding group together if we get large enough. Our main goal, however, will always be the maintenance of an engaging RP atmosphere and holding fun RP events!
We’re not only seeking new members, but officers as well! If you have guild leadership experience, or are just interested in helping us build and maintain an active guild, please get in touch! We're particularly interested in members willing to help us in creating and running guild RP events both in-game and on our forums.
