Normally, a poster wouldn't catch Lili's attention. This one, however, had been posted in so many places - Orgrimmar, the Undercity, and even Warspear - it had to be important.
The fifth time she saw it, in Orgrimmar, Lithliana stopped to read the posting. Immediately, the name Calent Miller stood out to her as a warrior with the Stormwind Union. She had seen her multiple times while helping terrorize the Mage Quarter. A quiet laugh bubbled from her as she reveled in the thought of the human woman's head on a pike, delivered to some...admittedly strange soul who desired it and her innards. Apparently it was someone with the Doomguard, too, seeing as they could be contacted through them.
Her hand made a movement to take the poster down - she had to show this to her friends. She froze, however, when her eyes ran over the initials at the bottom of the poster. Her gaze flickered back to the words "Brill Cemetery."
Immediately, the mage felt sick. She tore the poster from its place on the wooden board, now holding it closer with a shaking hand.
CVA - Clottia Von Absinthe. There was no mistaking it. The gruesome nature of the request, the Brill Cemetery, and the Doomguard - all signs pointed to the Forsaken priest Lili believed to be dead. Ondolemar had mentioned it , that Clottia was nothing but dust and bones. If she was alive, it could mean many things. While the Doomguard would have arguably its best healer back, who was to say she wasn't even more insane than before? Perhaps abducting small Draenei children wouldn't be enough for her anymore.
Lili called for her drake and returned to Da Doctas campus, still clutching the poster in one hand. She had to find out. That night, she would pen a letter to Vaq'negh, and then one to Uluion. She needed an explanation, and if Clottia truly was back, Uluion would want to know. She wouldn't be sleeping that night.

((Love you Clottia, but Lili's still scared after the goat baby situation! She thinks Clottia's going to eat her star babies someday!))

Yuuko scanned over the poster, pausing briefly at the odd amount of gold. She thought for several heartbeats, the gold would be nice, but the target was someone that she knew could be useful. Perhaps a warning letter would be in order. I show of goodwill, it may be a façade, but they need not know that. She would send Miss Miller a letter informing her of this wanted poster, but clearly state that she expected a favor in return. Miss Miller’s organization had been forthcoming in their information on Tyvian, but she still felt short changed in comparison to the wealth of information she he had given on Trenetir, nevertheless she would give this tidbit of information.

Yuuko located the nearest AAMS office with a sealed letter, it was careful addressed to Calent Miller and marked urgent. She paid their delivery fee and left. Mixed feelings flowed through her as she walked away mumbling “Dammit, I could really use that gold."

It was nightfall by the time Calent had a chance to reflect on the contents of the letter she had received from Yuuko. A whirlwind day full of new recruits and their shenanigans, meetings, and other work had kept her occupied, in addition to watching out for extra trouble due to this whole wanted poster business.

Clottia Von Absinthe was after her entrails. That sentence on its own would sound ludicrous, if any other person was mentioned. Clottia had earned herself a bit of a reputation from her repeated attacks on Stormwind, as well as the recent kidnapping of a Draenei child. She was unpredictable and very dangerous.

Beyond that information, Calent knew little about the undead priestess, and certainly not enough to figure out why she had been singled out. Although... the wording had been very specific. And time sensitive. For whatever reason Clottia had set her focus on Calent, it was not Calent herself that she wanted. Calent laid a hand over the swell of her belly, as if comforting the growing life inside. Clottia was after her child. She would not allow this to happen. Should any bounty hunters take the risk of collecting their quarry, she would show them no mercy. They would flee back to Orgimmar with tails tucked between their legs, if they lived to flee at all.

The weary sergeant stretched and yawned, her body was exhausted from the strain of a long day. The little one she carried demanded more and more sleep, and coffee was beginning to do little to curb the urge to nap in the afternoons. She grimaced, if there was a silver lining to this at all, it was that she would be free of it in her dreams. As disturbing and morbid as this business was, she could expect to be embraced warmly by the same terrible nightmares that had been greeting her every night for the last several weeks. For what small comfort it held, she had become accustomed to them.

As Calent settled down to sleep for the night, her last comforting thought as she fell asleep was that she was grateful for the presence of the Man'ari sleeping in the next room.

((Great to have you back, Clottia! Sorry for the late response. I was very amused by this thread. As far as the viability of a valid payout situation... I will welcome collection attempts if anyone wants to try, but don't expect to succeed ;) ))

Merma stood silent and unmoving in the shadows of the Mage Tower, mentally reviewing what she knew of this evening’s target. Calent Miller, member of the Stormwind Watch. Female. Human. Approximately 5’4. Medium-length brown hair. Violet Eyes. She’d seen no signs of this Calent despite having been there for hours already. She’d passed the time listening to the inane chattering of Stormwind’s citizens. She’d considered shoving her dagger into the throat of more than one of them, but stayed her hand thinking of the payday ahead of her. She’d wondered why the bounty specified the target’s entrails, but it was hardly Merma’s place to question it so long as she got paid the posted amount.

Merma was so lost in her thoughts, she almost missed it when Calent walked right past the spot where she was lurking. Very sloppy, clearly she’d been out of the game for a little too long. Thankfully, the warrior hadn’t spotted her. Merma glanced around her and snarled. The Mage District was bustling, Just her luck. She watched Calent approach the tavern and unexpectedly walk right past it and continue on into one of the less crowded parts of the District. Maybe luck was on Merma’s side after all. She quickly followed in pursuit, working to stay concealed in the shadows. Eventually, Calent stopped for a break at a relatively isolated well, a single guard stationed in yelling distance, but Merma had no intention of letting that happen as she crept up behind the warrior.

Merma stood waist deep in the waters of Stormwind Harbor, panting heavily and scowling. Twice, she’d engaged the target only to be fought off, clearly she’d underestimated this Calent. She glared up at the buildings of Stormwind, just to add insult to injury, the guards had heard their engagement and chased her out of the city. She let out an exasperated sigh. Clearly she’d have to fall back and rethink her strategy, but not without leaving the girl a present. to remember her by. She grins wickedly as her gaze swings over to the harbor.

The fisherwoman barely let out a squeak as the rogue plunged a dagger into her heart, dropping her body into the harbor, the blood staining the water a lovely crimson. The dockhand put up a slight fight, having heard the scuff of Merma’s boots on the dock, another mistake, but ultimately she, too, went down with a slit throat. Two bodies, not the bodies of her target, but they’d do the trick. Merma had a gleeful smile plastered on her face as she wiped the blood from her blades. Two bodies. Both Human. Both Female. Both with medium length brown hair. Both with violet eyes. Hopefully this Calent would get the message. This isn’t over, not by a long shot.

In the streets of Silvermoon, a green-garbed elf walked through the streets. Her clothing, one that on closer examination could be recognized as a uniform from the Rangers, dated back to around the time of the Second War. She casually looked around with her green eyes, while she scanned for people tracking her. She was in the city to visit her mother, sister, and the rest of her surviving family. It was a trip that she didn't get the chance to do very often, and it was one of the few times she could slip away and reconnect with the family that she had to break numerous laws on both sides to commit to.

However...a particular wanted poster, stuck on a column, broke her attention from her intended destination. Walking up to it, she read it, and, momentarily, her eyes widened in surprise. "...Cale?!" She rips it from the wall, and studies it. Her heart sank; it was immediately clear that Calent was not the target, but rather, her unborn child. However...it was likely that any attempt to get her unborn child would kill her as well.

She folded it up, and put it in her pocket. She knew she had to warn her...but she had to do it in a way that didn't put her own presence at risk. She pondered quietly while she decided to leave and to subtly return to Stormwind undetected, to find Calent, and to find out more about this 'Clottia', and how to take her out before it became a far bigger issue. She knew of her reputation, and of her attacks on the young, so she knew she had to act quickly.

Krom rips the poster off of the board, looking at it once over, chuckling. Krom thinking back to his battles with Arlston, that was strongly encouraged by Clottia. "hmm, I wonder what Clottia would give me if I were collect this human for her." Krom clenches his fist, poster in hand as he continues walking.

Noikona lay on her bed in the guest room. The small room, soon to be a nursery was what she now used as her home. Lady Miller who most likely was fast asleep in the adjacent room allowed her to stay here until she could once again regain control of her form. In a way it was good for both of them. It allowed Noikona a safe place to rest and a watchful eye over her handler. Her proximity also gave additional shielding, protecting the unborn child from the magical influences that invaded Calent’s dreams.

Noikona wasn’t too concerned about current threat on her handler, but it didn’t mean someone couldn’t get a lucky shot. She’d seen Calent in action, even with her current condition she was more than a match for many. The home was well warded, with a trained warrior in the arts of protection staying just inside the door. Only an idiot would try a direct assault.

As long as Calent allowed it, Noikona would continue to accompany Calent where she went. She knew it may seem awkward or even suffocating to be watched or followed everywhere, so she gave as much space as possible. The psychological benefit of defending yourself and defeating a threat on your own, Noikona found to be an asset to Calent. In the event that Calent should become overcome or cry out, Noikona knew she would not hesitate to throw herself between her handler and her foe, but until that happened Noikona allowed Calent to defend herself from those who threatened her directly. She would stand at her side and take on those who came at her from behind.

The starry night, along with the light from the moon, lit up the darkened alleyways of Stormwind. Walking the streets, a slender, lithe feminine figure looked back and forth, searching for something out of the ordinary. At closer inspection, the figure had long, pointy ears, the seemed to shift a bit, responding to subtle sounds around the person. A barking dog. A couple out for a overnight walk. The shifting of branches from the slight breeze. It was relatively warm, for an October evening.

If someone noticed the person, they'd at first think it was a blood elf, but the distinct lack of green-glowing eyes proved that the person was in fact a high-elf, with feminine features.

The figure contined to walk past the cathedral. She stopped for a moment to look around a particular house. She smiled...it has been quiet so far. Ever since she spoke to Calent about taking the night shift patrols, she knew that Calent could sleep happily, in that there would be someone, who was specially trained for reconnesance, to be keeping an eye on where she and her bodyguard slept. If anyone wanted to try to sneak in unannounced...they would likely face a well aimed arrow, and a timely hearthstone communication that would wake up the two people inside, plus the attention of the city guard as a whole.

She smirked. She looked forward to the day that she could catch one of the assasins in the act.

Merma runs her finger along the edge of a blade, smiling darkly at the blood now coating her finger. Wiping her finger off on her pants, she turns her attention to the poor blacksmith she’d…commissioned for her new set of throwing knives. “Not bad…for a human”.

The human releases the breathe he’d been holding while she examined the returned throwing knives. “Of course..M’am. Now if all’s satisfied, please just be on your way”. He indicates the door with a quick nod.

Merma eyes the blacksmith coldly. “Just one last thing I’d like to test”. She takes a step towards the blacksmith. His eyes widening, he reaches for his hammer to defend himself, but comes up short as the very blade he’d just fashioned is slashed across his throat, leaving him gurgling blood on the floor of his workshop. “Yes, It cuts quite nicely”

Merma flips the knife in her hand, admiring the single word now delicately engraved on the flat of the blade. Calent.

Noikona sat outside enjoying the morning breeze, when an interesting thought entered her mind. Perhaps making the hunter the prey was the right course of action. She wouldn’t leave Calent’s side, but if properly motivated she knew others that wouldn’t mind the challenge of crushing the perpetrator of the current predicament.

Noikona took out her sketch pad and began to draw. It took some time, but in the end she was quite proud of the results.

From hand to hand, by word of mouth and through drawled slurring in taverns, things such as bounties could travel far and reach many ears. Huge claws rolled over the waterlogged scrap of paper, turning it over in both mind and paw. A red gaze looked to a second, much better condition bit of paper desiring a bounty on a strangely similar vein. Coins are left on the counter of a creaky old "pub" hidden away from a non-locals eye. The huge Captain rolled a shoulder, rumbling, "Lesse 'ow this turns out." Vargore drifted from Menethil Harbor, on the trace of something interesting. Quite a bit of coin was being tossed around, best to see to the whys.
