The Harvest: Navigation Key
Basic Info:
Event Type: Open to server world scavenger event
Locations: Start in Hinterlands - End in Arathi Highlands
Event date: December 20th
Event time: 7 PM - 8:30 PM server time(roughly)
Event Premise:
It’s the time before The Raising and the Forsaken are doing one last push to gather the bodies, limbs and leftover wealth of unfortunate adventurers buried in mass through graves across Azeroth. Word has reached Alliance ears that the Forsaken are on the move, digging up the dead. Now it falls to them to defend the fallen from the grasps of the devious Forsaken.
The Nature of the Event:
This is a fun and casual event meant to bridge the time between the announcement of the The Raising and the actual event. Much of the event will be OOC, the clues (discussed below) are given completely out of character to the raid group. Players will be asked to elect a leader IC and will also be encouraged to find the locations of the nodes via RP. Anyone who attends is also welcome to adopt the narrative of this event into their character's personal story.
Event Breakdown:
Scattered across The Hinterlands and Arathi Highlands are 5 nodes which must either be captured or defended depending on your team. The locations of these nodes will only be revealed through vague clues and riddles. It is up to each team to work together to try and crack the clue in order to discover the nodes location. After discovering a node the team will have a period of 2 mins in which they must reinforce the node. In the event that a node becomes contested each team will elect a Champion to fight on behalf of the team. This fight will be determined by a 1v1 duel done in grey armor (provided by the raid coordinators). This will be the only PVP of the event.
During the time of the 1v1 duel the players on each team are strongly encouraged to equip the Dazzling Rod toy. Each hit your character takes from the toy may be interpreted in RP as a hit your character has taken in the skirmish of the node.
The winner of the duel will decide which team claims the node. After a node has been successfully captured/defended the winning team will have a 15 second head start with the clue to the next node. Both teams will however always be competing for the same node to ensure a sense of fun and fairness.
Note: Once a champion has fought they will not be able to fight again so teams must choose their champions strategically.
How to Interpret This Event In RP:
The narrative we would like to establish is that the graveyards are a place of battle between the Horde and Alliance. The war in Draenor is coming to a close but not all have returned from the front lines; therefore the battles in this event should be considered as skirmishes instead of massive military movements.
In the pursuit of good natured entertainment we have chosen to not make this event a PVP event. However, if your character is involved in this event then you are free to take whatever hits against your character during the Dazzling Rod duels as injuries they received during the conflict. Feel free to be creative.
DISCLAIMER: If there is a larger turnout for this event then initially expected the 1v1 duel at each node will change to 3 duels of 1v1 where the team with the majority of wins from the duels takes the node. If it is necessary under this system Champions will be able to fight multiple times.
