I have got to say that I am really impressed with what I have read so far. My husband and I are tossing around the idea of rolling new toons on an RP server. Looks like CC will have two new trolls tonight. :)
Like RP? Come See Scenic Cenarion Circle!
Hope we see you at the Thursday evening RP event! Open to everyone, Horde and Alliance, on the Isle of Caer Darrow (in the Western Plaguelands, where the Scholomance instance is marked on the map). We'll do our best to have summons/mount rides for people too low to run through the Plaugelands or up the river in the Hillsbrad Foothills.
Be sure to /join hordeooc or /join allianceooc and let us know that you're interested! Always happy to welcome new RPers to the server.

Good day readers of the World's End Tavern, and specifically this lovely CC promotional Thread; created by the one, the only: Vasilia (who ultimately gives all credit for it to Arjah, who, if I could come somehow perfect time travel and visit Arjah's original post on the old blizzard site, probably would have given credit to someone else, and so on, and so on.)
Anyway, I was thinking to myself the other day; "self, what better way to promote CC as a server than to profile the RP community on CC and intice people to come see for themselves the server that I love and call my home." at which point I thought "self, that's a GREAT idea!" - I love it when the voices agree with each other!
So, here is the first of hopefully many CC Guild Reviews to make people interested in role playing here!
----------------------------------------
The Anytime & Anywhere Messenger Service
Now, the Anytime & Anywhere Messenger Service, or AAMS as it is affectionately called, has been a mainstay on CC for five long years; and might just be one of the most unique concepts on any of the RP servers. The AAMS isn't just any RP guild, it is actually TWO RP GUILDS working under the same banner. The AAMS (horde side) and the AAMS Alliance Branch (Alliance side).
"Two guilds? Working together across the factional line? That's un-possible!"
I know, I know, but they make it work! So, what does the AAMS do? They exisit to facilitate RP. Run like a business, with a CEO in charge of both guilds, and each GM acting like a branch manager, the AAMS specializes in deliveries and translations. Now, you might be asking yourself, "Why would I use the AAMS when I can use the goblin ((ingame)) run mail system?" Well, that is a very good question.
The AAMS goes beyond what the goblin's can offer and happily provide a personalized, face to face delivery service. Believe me, nothing is more special than having one of their fantastically dressed couriers track you down in the middle of no-where to deliver a letter or package. Simply amazing! Secondly, unlike the goblins, the AAMS works cross faction; that's right, cross faction.
Want to send some items to your Troll friend, but your a Dwarf? The AAMS can do that for you.
Want to purchase all the horde mageweave from their auction house for cheep and re-sell it to the Alliance at ten times the profit? The AAMS can do that.
Maybe you need to send 100 exploding sheet to an unsuspecting forsaken husband-to-be as a dowery for his wedding to a love-smitten Gnome that somehow believes the forsaken's servered hand that she purchased on the black market was his way of proposing to her? /e takes a deep breath. Bah, the AAMS has ALREADY done that! Give them something challenging to do!!
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2016272176
Maybe you're tired of all the fighting between the Orcs and Humans and you want to set up a series of peace talks, but you just can't understand all the gibberish the other side is saying? Well, the AAMS, because it has members in both factions, can translate for you, face to face, in realtime! Perfect for peace talks, declarations of war, anything else cross faction related.
And finally, maybe you're a business man who has conquered the marketplace in Orgrimmar and has turned your sights to setting up shop in Stormwind. Problem is, all your money is in the bank on the wrong side of the factional line. Well, the AAMS can transfer that money for you at a fraction of the price to do it yourself through the neutral auction house ((contact a branch manager or the CEO to discuss the details)).
So there you have it, the AAMS of CC, just another of our fine RP guilds!
----------------------------------------
Well, that's my first CC Guild Review. I'll be back in a few days with another one, this time from the horde side. (I'm looking at you, <Homeland>.... /wink /wink so, either beat me to the punch and write your own, or I write one for you! Don't look away like you can't hear me! Yeah, you, Poni. I know what you're trying to do there, avoiding eye contact and all. It wont work, you can ignore a Gnome who's trying to get your attention! /e jumps up and down waving her arms frantically and making a big scene!)

I just came back from a break playing WoW and was looking for a place to start a new character.
Keilstrum is my new CC main. Only been playing on CC for a few days but I am already enjoying the role playing. In fact, I've spent more time RPing than I have leveling! I never would have imagined that I would need to force myself to level rather than role playing. On some other servers it was always the other way around. RP is what you did in between leveling, raiding, or PvPing.
Seen a few of those AAMS guys running around. Gave some thought about signing up with their company. Only problem is, Keil has a deep hatred for Orcs and doesn't initially trust anyone who isn't a fellow Dwarf or Human; magic uses are even further down the list as he would rather trust his axe and shield to get things done.
Anyway, I hope to see more of everyone, and if anyone else new to the server was looking for a bit of a hot headed Dwarf to level with, while RPing, feel free to look me up!

Despite the excellent advertising, the AAMS is actually one of the smaller RP guilds. They're just very dedicated to what they do :p
You should have no trouble finding an RP guild that's tougher on orcs if you ask around! Be sure to use the channels mentioned in the original posts -- those are the best way to get involved on CC when you're still building up the ol' friends list. That and dropping by any of the regular weekly RP events!
EDIT: Of course, there are two AAMS guilds. You could always make a more peace-love-and-grooviness Horde alt and try that branch out. Lotsa options on CC!

Incoming hordie! I've been toying with the thought of making an RP toon so I can actually enjoy some fine community who also enjoys the Warcraft lore as I do.
Problem is, I have so many Alliance alts on Bloodhoof, I really don't want to level another Alliance character without the exp bonus from looms and whatnot. However, Alliance is the faction I've had the most RP ideas in. Never had a horde toon to 85 (or even 60 ;>_>) so I thought maybe I could bring up a horde DK simply to get accustomed to CC *and* mix up the levelling experience :D Also, to nab some looms for my Alliance-side dorkspawn.
And I swear I use much better grammar in-game when I'm not practically rushing myself to type out this message because I really want to get started on CC XD

*GASP!* You mean there's an RP realm out there where people can actually RP!?! I don't believe it! I've rolled alts in MG and WrA, and my mains are in Farstriders, but I don't think I've done CC yet. I have to see this, I'm rolling an alt in the morning.
Indeed there is still RP on CC. Plenty of it as far as I have been able to find. Considering I'm new to the server, havn't even been here a week, and I've already met about three dozen people.
A few things I have noticed, however:
1) Best time to RP is during the evenings. Rightly so, that is when most people are online. Daytime RP happens, but obviously there are not as many people online.
2) Alliance side characters, visit the Blue Recluse. Seems to be the defacto hub. I've randomly walked in there half a dozen times and always found something going on. Only time I didn't was because there was an event going on somewhere else.
3) It's important to watch the CC forums for events. You don't want to be the only one sitting around while everyone else is at Caer Darrow, which seems to be popular as of late.
4) /AllianceOOC is often busy with activity, but someone always has the time to answer a question; you just need to ask it!
5) Like every server I've ever played on, the first thing anyone should do: /leave Trade. Enough said.
Other than that, I believe I have found a new server to call home! I thought about transfering my main or one of my max level alts, but I honestly am enjoying starting over from scratch and having to build everything up from nothing.

I agree with Keilstrum above me. I just started on CC yesterday and I'm already loving every minute! Everyone is friendly and easygoing, and the World channels for IC and OOC are a great idea. I have quite a few RP ideas so I'm just pushing to 85 so I can grab some looms because the thought of levelling one more Alliance without looms hurts me at a deep level @_@

Vasilia, Arjah, and all others posting on behalf of Cenarion Circle, you are a great ambassador to your server.
For years now I have been interested in roleplay, but due to my overwhelming shyness, have very rarely attempted to RP. I have tried several of the popular RP servers already but have found it difficult to make friends, really because I am so afraid of being judged (which is odd because I'm a pretty good writer and certainly not prone to "sue"-ish ness), and on top of my irrational fear of judgment, I've been struggling with writer's block/lack of creativity for years now so I often just. don't. know. what to say. So when I see someone walking or talking IC I tend to flee rather than sticking around to make a friend.
It's funny because "irl" I'm talkative and silly and have no issue making friends, but online...I don't know, I just freeze up and overthink things and imagine the worst. I've spent years on my "home" PvP server with a few real life friends but the RP aspect of myself is terribly lonely and craves interaction, and I'm really not interested in raiding and PvP scares me to death, so I want to try RP and truly connect with people. Not just "grats" and dead guild chat. I suppose, RP is secondary to a friendly atmosphere and new friends I can feel inspired by, which I'm just not finding on my PvP server.
This advertisement makes me want to try out CC more than any other server. The warmth and friendliness you exude is reassuring, like, yeah, I can do this! I will probably just lurk around for a while, join the ooc channels and such, until I can figure out a basic character premise...but I just wanted to say thank you for helping me feel that I may yet have a chance at finding a home server that really feels like home.

Okay, time to get really honest...
Reading the posts from the last few days/weeks, I am literally getting a bit teary-eyed. CC is home for me, and I love you guys like an extended family, and it is SOOOOO cool to see that other people are newly discovering what I have experienced for a while now.
I could talk about all the wonderful RP that happens here and all the phenomenal stories that happen, but I think that's been explained far more eloquently than I am capable of.
Bottom-line: Cenarion Circle may not be the "best" RP server to some people, but, dammit, it is for me. The community here is amazing. I really do love you guys.

Lunatheria, the welcoming spirit you see in Cenarion Circle members on this thread is a very accurate portrayal of how our server community is in game. I may consider some of our folks a bit on the sappy side, but that could be druid influence, too. The RP community of Cenarion Circle is very encouraging of friendly behavior and very discouraging of poor behavior.
However, I cannot stress enough the importance of joining the Allianceooc (or Hordeooc) channels when you roll up an alt on our server (as I hope you do, Lunatheria, it's always a pleasure to meet someone else with a passion for writing). CC is an old server. It's one of the original, day 1 RP servers. While our non-RP community is plenty welcoming, you still get people who will tell you that there is no RP on CC or who'll claim that the only RP is between guildies or is just very cliquish.
The best way to get involved with RP on CC is to join the OOC channel and repeat the secret password "hi, I'm new to the server." You'll be welcomed immediately.

In retrospect, rolling a troll death knight who doesn't speak often probably wasn't the best idea to jump into RP here in CC XD
However, even with the little talking I did today in Caer Darrow, I had a blast! Just remind me to roll a more talkative character next time around xD

Wow, Caer Darrow was a lot of fun, I was playing a dwarf who I just rolled and I was having so much fun when I went into Scholomance and pretending there were ghosts and stuff.
CDRP (Caer Darrow Restoration Project) is quickly becoming a very popular RP event on our server.Rhakum and Beefy, you two got to experience a pretty good demonstration of event RP on our server. I certainly hope it's enough to encourage you to keep coming back!

Caer Darrow is loads of fun.
/rubs nose; Well it is when you aren't getting grilled.
Whether you enjoy a cold one in the Recluse, or a head to the nose, Cenarion Circle is the place for role play! If you're still in your infancy there is room to grow! Or if you are old, then let CC revitalize your brittle bones.
Can't speak for horde side though, but alliance side, I certainly have a blast. Friendly people, some more patient than they should be, they deal with me and ... You gotta love (almost) everyone.

We're slooooowly expanding Caer Darrow to be an RP hub the rest of the week too, with the big themed events on Thursday just being part of the effort -- if you're just looking for random RP and don't have anything specific in mind, use one of the channels (the OOC ones or the Hearthstone/HearthstoneIC work equally well) to see if anyone's out there! Or willing to go out there.
We like seeing more activity in the empty city! It's just so conveniently made to be filled with RP.
