I feel that I should add that the Wowpedia administration has seen this and has started discussing this and what to do about RPG content. We would like your feedback on the wiki proper about what to do (once it is back up).

Interesting to know my death knight loves to inflict pain.

Makes my night elf a bit more interesting than I originally thought.

Oh, and I'm also glad you closed the case and made the RPG books non-canon unless otherwise stated. If nothing else, a lot of the population numbers given were way too low.

If they were to be believed, the Alliance shouldn't of been able to field an army of more then a few thousand, let alone be able to take 50,000 casualties in Northrend and still have a strong enough force to fight the subsequent war with the Twilight's Hammer and the Horde.

My advice would be to move all exclusively RPG-book content into it's own section with a standard header that explains the following information is found only in the RPG and should not be considered canon unless otherwise stated by Blizzard.

For many articles, no serious changes will have to be made since RPG info already is in it's own section. The only major changes I can think of off hand would be moving the population figures of the various zones to this section.

I think that the RPG books should basically be considered less word of God and more Brann's opinion now. That lets them remain subjective without outright striking them from canon.

The issue is that some of information contained in them is supposedly things Brann directly observed and cataloged. So unless Brann is on some serious drugs, I doubt he thinks he visited settlements that don't actually exist. Plus it would just make him a horrible explorer for getting basic information like population figures of major cities off by huge margins.

The population numbers I'm fine with not being canon (although they could easily be explained as Brann's guesses; I doubt that Stormwind has 200,000 people on the dot.)

Besides, why can't there be settlements that just aren't visible in-game? There are entire nations that aren't visible in-game, and I don't think that the cultural customs that Brann reported through the races were ever brought up as fishy.

The elune thing was my favorite....

and he's not disrespected by blizzard, he's disrespected by the alliance. Obviously velen is going to be the next leader to go crazy because people didn't like him.
Q: What is the Argent Crusade's relationship with the Forsaken, in light of Sylvanas's recent actions?
A: Although the members of the Argent Crusade still stand by the Forsaken heroes who joined them in the battle against the Scourge, Sylvanas's actions since the slaying of Arthas have deeply concerned the crusaders. They, along with certain members of the Ebon Blade, are now watching Sylvanas and the Forsaken very closely, as similarities between her and the Lich King are increasing in number by the day.

While I know that Bliiz is unlikely to do it, I think (in terms of linear logic) that Tirion needs to re-focus the Argent Crusade's efforts and put a bullseye on Sylvanas' back. Paragon of Light and Righteousness and wielder of Ashbringer that he is, it would be gross irresponsibility on his part not to directly oppose Sylvanas and her Forsaken, who themselves are not as removed from their Scourge kin as they (themselves) like to think they are.

I like the fact that while the Argent Crusade's neutrality, during the event of WotLK, were a strength and a focal point of unity, it will now serve as a debilitating handicap for Tirion as he watches Sylvanas move further and further towards Lich-Lord status.

Delicious irony. One that LTK will be weaving into the Order's general story-arc very soon.

Yup.

For everyone keeping score at home, note that carte blanche purging of RPG info based on this post alone is not the plan. Please don't do go purging.

I think RPG info should stay - just make sure its appropriately labelled. It may or may not be canon now (depending on the corroboration of other sources), but I think it's worth recording anyway.

Either way, learning that Blizzard doesn't consider the RPG canon is a big disappointment. This set of answers took away way more lore than it gave us.

How did Sinestra survive the events of Night of the Dragon?
A: For all intents and purposes, she didn't; when players encounter Sinestra in the Bastion of Twilight raid, she is a husk of her former self, pieced together and reanimated by the powers of Deathwing's Old God master.

OLD GOD MASTER?

any see that?

Q: Why do blood elves still have green eyes?

A: Corruption from fel energies takes a long time to wear off. It's why most orcs are still green even though Mannoroth is dead.

Wait... I thought the orcs under his control were red.

Maybe that's the next step as the corruption spreads further?

The green skin was a result of second-hand exposure to fel magic. That's why characters like Durotan and Orgrim turned green (despite not being warlocks or drinking demon blood).

In addition, researching new methods of purifying irradiated gnomes has led to radical advances in Light-based technology!
Perhaps we might see some Gnomes taking up interest with the Exodar? Huh?

Huuuuuuuuuh? :3
