PUBLIC NOTICE: RENEWAL PROJECT AT CAER DARROW

Priests, shaman and other clergy sought to help in putting the unnamed dead to rest!

Cross-faction effort to begin at 7:30 local time, at the Isle of Caer Darrow in the Western Plaguelands.

Every week the AAMS invites members of the Horde and the Alliance to join us in helping to renew the abandoned settlement at Caer Darrow a little bit further. It is our hope that, in time, the Caer Darrow Renewal Project will offer a haven for peaceful members of both factions. But at the moment there is much left to do!

This week we are putting out a special call for priests or other religious leaders able and willing to help us put the many nameless bones and bodies that litter the island to rest. It is our hope that proper rites will help quiet the ghosts that still whisper about the empty city.

More practically, we hope to discourage the necromantic practices of the Scholomance by removing one of their primary sources of bodies for experimentation. Anyone not comfortable with performing funeral rites is invited to join us in digging and filling graves instead! The AAMS will try to have shovels and other tools on hand.

As with all CDRP events, we also welcome any business ventures to the island and highly encourage anyone to join us as a "vendor for an evening." The AAMS has materials and start-up cash to donate if you wish to establish a market at Caer Darrow.

The CDRP is a neutral, peaceful event. Translations will be available through the AAMS.

((As a purely OOC note, we would love to have as many people as possible with pitchforks and particularly shovels at this event -- Cataclysm has made it much, much harder to obtain anything with the shovel graphic, so bring any old ones you may have lying about your banks!

Pickaxes for mining, Enchanted Brooms, and anything else you can think of helps give the place a bustling look too. Don't be shy about showing off your oddball items at the CDRP!

As always, please let us know if you'd like to set up as a "vendor" or "questgiver" and need any sort of supplies or preparation that the AAMS can help with.

Event starts at 7:30 at Isle of Caer Darrow in the Western Plaguelands, where the Scholomance instance is located.))

Aeldgyth,

As a former priest and a student of the shamanic arts, I would be honored to help put the tortured spirits of Caer Darrow to rest. Since the Brotherhood has been busy fashioning weapons to help support the Cenarion Circle in their efforts on the Firelands, only one representative is available, and Professor Stonehelm is busy quality testing.

He insisted I deliver a statement on the persistent spirits of the island, as he claims he has experience with those spirits and with ghosts at large. I hope it will help us with our efforts!

I think we should nuke the site from orbit.

It's the only way to be sure!

I agree with Iecia. We can supply the bombs.

I'll bring my 'Gnome-O-Vision Inc. Approved Hyper-Concentrated Neo-Malleble-Synthetic Composition Inverse-Implosion Putty, Mark IV, a.k.a Explodium" (patent pending, registered trademark), if you'd like, Miss Highbelt Paladin! I've got enough to make a Gnomish Tonne of Seaforium look like fireworks!

Hah, all that digging sounds like it'd be thirsty work!
I'm a busy girl, but I suppose I could see if I have the time to come out and maybe hand out drinks to all you hard workers!
...for a price, of course~

((Newbie to this server here, but I think an event like this should be a good way to meet people.
You don't eat newbies, do you?
I taste terrible, by the way. Like explosives and napalm.))

Miss Tolly,

The AAMS has rather a large supply of refreshments left from our Tavern Nights, which we would be happy to send to you if you plan on providing drinks at the CDRP. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with as well -- we believe in supporting any peaceful endeavors on the Isle of Caer Darrow!

((It's very much an event designed for new faces and guilds to get some RP exposure, Tolly, so you're certainly welcome. I'll try to be sure to have a warlock there Horde-side this week, since you're a little low level to be running through the Plaguelands!

Of course, if someone wants to set up as the official taxi service, the AAMS is happy to fund that instead...!))

Respectfully,

We would be delighted to hear a presentation on the spirits of Caer Darrow! One of the key goals of the AAMS is to free the island from the lingering taint of necromancy, while ensuring proper treatment for the souls and remains of innocent victims. Any expertise in the matter would be much appreciated. Please let us know if you require any material assistance or honorariums.

Respectfully,

The AAMS is amply supplied with explosives of Pia Presidium origin, and likely will be for the rest of my unnatural life. While your offer is appreciated, we consider ourselves amply stocked should the destruction of Caer Darrow ever become company policy.

It hasn't yet, so please don't blow my couriers up.

Hah, you supply the merch and I'm a happy camper!
So, who do I discuss the splitting of profits with? Might be your supplies I'm vendoring, but I am the one doing the selling.

Getting there might be a problem, though. Marching through the Plaguelands ain't exactly an afternoon stroll. I would pay handsomely for an escort...well, handsomely if we consider my wallet's on its last legs.
I gotta get around to fixing that...

Aeldgyth,

Hey, Rhudran showed me your response and I decided to take a short break to write you a response personally.

After some thought, I have decided that we would be delighted to lend material aid, if you can help us find some of the materials. Here, I'll attach the list.

Arcanite, Thorium Ore, Arcane Crystals
Enchanted Leather, Rugged Leather, Lesser/Greater Eternal Essence
Azerothian Diamonds or Thorium Ore
Large Opals or Thorium Ore

Oh, hey, could you deliver a request for me to the Pia Presidium? I need a cluch of their best paladins to come to the Isle.

In Brotherhood,

Galahn Tinhelm

PUBLIC NOTICE

The AAMS wishes to express public gratitude for the outpouring of support at this week's CDRP. Attendance continues to increase every week, to the point that we have real hopes of turning the island into more than a weekly project.

We're enormously pleased with the wide range of faiths represented in putting the dead to rest. An enormous amount of work, physical and spiritual, remains before Caer Darrow is fully repaired, but citizens of both the Horde and the Alliance are proving more than up to the task.

The AAMS extends its thanks and congratulations to everyone involved!

--

((Thank you all for turning out this week -- I think we're definitely going to need a bigger staff as this event continues to grow! Let us know if you'd be interested in joining the AAMS ranks on either faction. We could use the help!

As the idea of Caer Darrow as a place where roleplayers hang out gains traction we'll probably be spending more of our idle time doing AAMS business there, so if you see anyone from the AAMS on and care for some pick-up RP, feel free to ask if we're up for a meeting at Caer Darrow. I'll try to make myself available for anyone that wants to talk AAMS business or just find some random RP out on the island!))

Aeldgyth,

I heard that the first portion of the grave purifying went well, and I'm glad for it!

However, I have increasingly felt claustrophobic in my rented shop in Stormwind. In addition to spiritual help and to deliver my own notes, I also sent my friend Rhudran to scope out the two abandoned blacksmith workshops on the Isle. While there are no anvils on site, I was wondering if I could move my testing facility over to the workshop outside the walls. Most of the instruments are highly portable, and I promise to clean up after myself and not upset any spirits. What do you say?

Yours in brotherhood,

Galahn Tinhelm,

((I had an absolute blast at the CDRP yesterday! I'm sorry I had to bow out early so the GMs could work on my ticket, and then afterward with my migraine. I plan on attending again next week, and I will look into any additional way I might help.))

Respectfully,

Anvils are the least of the infrastructure I'm still lacking out at Caer Darrow -- and those things aren't cheap to move, either. But we're working on it.

In the meantime, I'd be happy to have you use what remains of the smithies there for your work. I'm in the process of moving our (admittedly underused) Joint Office to the town square myself, and I'd be glad of the company.

The AAMS can, of course, help fund any materials you may need out there. We're a long way off from full repairs yet, but at the very least I've got an engineer willing to get a working mailbox established for us full-time. And if the AAMS can't change the world with a mailbox, no one can.

(("Full time" is an exaggeration, of course, but I have moved my rarely-played engineer with the MOLL-E portable mailbox out to Caer Darrow. So any time people are using it as an RP hub, mention it in the channels, and if I'm around I'll add that little AAMS touch to things...!))
