TAVERN NIGHT RETURNS!
At least for an evening. This week the AAMS will be hosting a Tavern Night at our Caer Darrow Renewal Project, so drop on by for drinks and cross-faction company. Of course, if anyone wants to come serve their own food (or just take advantage of a large, cross-faction market to sell other goods), we're happy to support free enterprise...
But Aeldgyth, What is a "Tavern Night"?
Tavern Night was the AAMS weekly staple for several years. It usually took place in Ratchet, was open to everyone from both factions, and involved drinks, light refreshments, and a scowling bouncer to remind you that weapons weren't allowed.
We've trimmed the bouncer out of the picture (though please don't bring your weapons anyway, or at least don't hit people with them if you do), but we spent the extra savings on hooch, so overall let's call it a win.
Is There Anything for Me to Do There?
We encourage conspicuous drunkeness and long, rambling pontification on the political issues of the day, but people have always found their own uses for the Tavern Night. Sit down for a quiet drink with a rival guild and wrangle out a peace agreement -- for now -- or just challenge them to a drinking contest then and there, if you prefer!
The AAMS is also happy to support any industries you might want to experiment with -- if you're a skilled crafter, why not bring the inventory along and see if anyone's in need? Or we could use a good restaurant to go with our drinks. Anything you can think of that a large public gathering needs, we'll help you set up. Just contact us this week before the Tavern Night!
Why All The Way Out at Caer Darrow?
I'm glad you asked!
The isle of Caer Darrow -- most recently famous for housing the Scholomance -- has been an abandoned ghost town (literally) for several years. Rather than let it fall to ruin, the AAMS has begun to restore the space, with an eye to creating a permanent, neutral settlement.
We believe that promoting industry on the isle is a valuable first step. The infrastructure remains somewhat shopworn, but we made the decision to work on building a thriving community first and worry about getting a roof back on each house later!
So when you come to a Caer Darrow Renewal Project event you're not just coming for drinks and dinner -- you're actively helping to make the world a better, more peaceful place, with one more safe home for everybody.
WE'LL SEE YOU THERE!

((OOC DETAILS:
WHEN: Thursday 8/4, starting at 7:30 PM server time
WHERE: Caer Darrow, the large island in the Western Plaguelands marked with the Scholomance instance
WHAT: Translated, cross-faction gathering. Drinks served!
WHO: The AAMS hosts and translates -- you come roleplay!
WHY: 'Cause it's fun. Also helps to build the empty space into an RP hub.
If you would like to join in the RP as more than just a conversational participant, the AAMS guild(s) are happy to help! We'd love to see people selling wares, setting up a cooking fire and passing out menus, or even just tending bar for us in a snappy tux.
Please let us know if you're interested in any kind of "business" or "service" RP so that we can get you everything you need to make it work. Otherwise, we'll see you there for the drinks, dancing, diplomacy, and drinks!))

- -- Fun Fact! Did you know that the Dwarven game "Drinky Drinky Drink-Drink" and the troll game "Pass Out Before You Die" are actually the same game, with only slight rules variants? Let's hear it for cultural education!
