**UPDATE 12/22/11**
Our guild is recruiting orc, Tauren, and troll characters of certain classes, levels 1-20 until December 30th! Goblin characters negotiable. See the main thread in the World's End Tavern: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3746354611?page=1#0
*****************

This thread is going to be a running update of the in-game RP "The Lost Clan." It will be updated on the forums not only for the use of the members of the main group RP, but also for anyone who wishes to interact with these characters and be a part of their story.

The main plot of the RP is as follows. Around twenty years ago, during the time when most orcs were still imprisoned in internment camps, one clan was wiped out and stricken from orcish history, with the exception of a few babies who were separated and given to different camps/situations (as lore-appropriate!). These babes were never told of their heritage, but all had been given the clan's brand at birth. Few orcs are left who remember what the brand means, and even fewer who are foolish enough to speak of it.

This brings us to the present-day, when a 22-year-old orc warrior posts the following notice on a board in Orgrimmar:

DO YOU HAVE A BRAND ON YOUR RIGHT SHOULDER AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS? I MAY HAVE ANSWERS. COME TO THE VALLEY OF TRIALS AND MAKE SURE YOUR BRAND IS EXPOSED. I WILL COME TO YOU.

12/7/11 Meeting

One by one, Egar approached four young orcs in the Valley of Trials and furtively instructed them to meet him in Sen'Jin Village. Knowing that his note had been public, he covered his own brand and did his best not to be seen speaking to the others in the Valley. He found four other orcs, all around his age, bearing the mark.

Darmu - a mild-mannered male hunter with a recalcitrant boar.
Rintu - a level-headed female mage, blunt but fair.
Kagorian - an angry female shaman still haunted by the orcs' shared history of oppression.
Mirchi - an amiable female warlock with a particularly difficult and moody imp.

Mirchi and Darmu hit it off well with Egar from the start. Although Rintu and especially Kagorian seemed reluctant to trust Egar or to accept that he might be a clan brother, they were willing to cooperate in the search for information about the mysterious symbol, if only to know more about their own histories.

Egar left the meeting discouraged by the strife already brewing within the group but still secretly thinking of them as clan siblings and determined to find answers by whatever honorable means he could find it.

12/8/11 Meeting

Egar was not surprised to see that the headstrong shaman Kagorian did not show up the next day to meet him, but his brother-in-arms Darmu was there and ready to help Egar take on the threats around Razor Hill. They breezed through the Northwatch foothold like a storm of destruction, but when taking on the members of the Burning Blade, Egar suffered some disturbing effects from the warlocks' tainted blood. He called upon Mirchi's expertise to reassure him that the curse would not last, and she was indeed reassuring... mostly. Her ironic wit sometimes left Egar a bit confused, and her profession left him particularly wary, especially after her joke about hoping Egar wouldn't run into "anyone she knew" at the Burning Blade's hideout...

((OOC

Today we're finishing up Durotar quests both together and separately, and the plan is to start in the Northern Barrens first thing tomorrow (10am PST).))

12/9/11 Meeting

Egar, Darmu, and Mirchi killed a massive number of quillboars, with great gusto, and then helped protect a caravan that was headed to the Crossroads. They have now settled in at the Crossroads, and Egar has asked Mirchi to serve as a go-between for him to the other two women. He feels they in part do not trust him because he is male, and hopes that as a fellow woman Mirchi can convince them to give him another chance.

((OOC - the plan for Monday is to run Ragefire IC, so let's all try to get to level 15 or so, finish any of the "Breadcrumb" chains leading to it that you would like to finish, get any gear you want all ready to go, etc. I'd like to either start right at 10 am or arrange another time - just keep in touch and let me know what you need! I can start anytime from 9am Pacific to noon Pacific!))

Rintu threw another pebble in to the lake she sat beside, watching the ripples expand ever outward.

Rintu was an Orc. She knew this. Of course she knew this. As if she could ever forget. Even if the echos of the cat calls, the jeers, the curses and the yells could somehow be finally stilled in her mind, she had the physical scars to remind her of that fact.
She sighed to herself. Yes Rintu was an Orc. But what did that mean? What did it mean to be an Orc? A free Orc? A real Orc, like those she saw in the city, like those she had met in Sen'Jin Village?

She squeezed the parchment in her hand. She had read the posting her first day visiting Orgrimmar. She had dismissed it out of hand and yet, something tickled in the back of her mind.
She woke the next morning with the parchment in her fist. She immediately knew Nani had put it there. She knew she would have to go. There was no arguing with Nani. She knew things, and she was always right. But Rintu didn't have to like it.

She sighed deeply and threw another rock out across the still water. Watching as the reflected sky shattered into a million sparkly pieces only to ever so slowly melt one by one back together into a smooth picture once more. She knew that feeling. All to well.

The first meeting left her confused, left her with un-answered questions and un-explained feelings. Worse it left her with a headache. The headaches were always bad news. They meant Nani wanted something, and Nani couldn't be denied. Rintu owed her too much. Rintu owed her her life.
She did as Nani wanted, she purposely missed the next meeting with the strange Orcs, She watched from afar, while feelings of jealousy and longing warred inside her. She envied their easy manner, she envied the laughter she heard carried on the wind. Oh how she wanted to rush out waving her arms to join them, to be enfolded in the warm camaraderie. But Nani had forbidden it.
So instead she had followed. She had watched. She had waited. She had wished.

((OCC. Rintu will be there 10 Am PST Monday))

12/12/12 Meeting

Egar made his way to Orgrimmar to register a new clan, though he left the name blank for the time being until he could learn the name of the clan he had been born to and why it was no longer in existence. He ran into the mage Rintu there, explained what he was doing, and was pleased to find that she seemed friendly to him and had not been influenced by Kogorian after all. Egar got Darmu and Rintu to sign his clan paper, and then to his surprise, Kogorian herself showed up with a gracious apology. She herself had run into an elder who had identified the mark as Orcish rather than human, and so her theory had been proven incorrect. She willingly offered herself to the clan, and when Mirchi arrived she added the final signature to the paper.

The newly-formed clan then ventured into the chasm beneath Orgrimmar to clear the place of its latest infestation of Searing Blade warlocks, demons, kobolds and elementals. Expecting problems during their first team effort, Egar was stunned to find that the group worked together seamlessly, each playing his or her role to perfection.

((OOC: Wednesday at noon server time: Deadmines!!)

Truth is still unknown. The old spear catcher was addled with age and alcohol, but recognized the mark. Said no Orc should ever speak ill of another's clan. Immediately stopped talking to me after that.

Entry Number 256

Orgrimmar is not a good place to look for history. It is too young, too busy with activity for dusty tomes and forgotten lore. No news on the design, but was able to gain an almost complete copy of it by pressing ink to the burn. Will head to Grommash Hold in the morning. Hopefully answers are there.

Entry Number 257

Stoneback outside Hold, with others of the burn. Told male of progress in solo hunt. Agreed to team up with others. Hope this clan thing Stoneback speaks of works.

Entry Number 257b

Cultists destroyed. Battle was fierce, but others are capable. Stoneback took brunt of the attacks like a true warrior, while Darmu, Mirchi, and Rintu rained destruction upon the traitorous Orcs that cowered under the citadel. The spirits blessed me this day. Allies to assist in my search, and much honor.

Entry Number 257c

Burn itches. Skin flaked off of shoulder around mark. Will ask others for shared symptoms. Fear Searing Blade taint. If so, why effect only small portion of arm? Investigate.

((Btw, Grekthosh, though he has a guild and a backstory, *but* is no longer welcomed in his clan, you all may find an ally in him as well! I'll try to catch some of you online for some RP when I'm on him next.))

12/14/11 Meeting

Kogorian and Darmu were called away to other duties, and so Egar, Mirchi, and Rintu borrowed the services of a pair of druids (Tauren and troll) and had themselves transported across the world to chase down some renegade goblins in the caves beneath the human lands of Westfall. Flush with their success, they journeyed straight to the Wailing Caverns to investigate the source of the corruption that had been spreading throughout the Barrens.

((OOC - next meeting Friday at noon server time. Recommended level right now: 20 ))

Itch has progressed into a burning sensation, and persists. Right arm numb. Will seek others for opinions as to remedy.

Entry Number 259B

Herbalist says bad food, rub root paste on skin. Druid says 'not attuned to the world', must fast and meditate for three days. Chirgeon thinks gangrene, need to amputate immediately.

Idiots.

Entry Number 260

Visited Tauren priest. Repeated phrases, only understood "shu'halo" amongst babbling. Undead nearby overheard conversation, interjected with thoughts of 'shadow corruption from the inside".

Whatever afflicts me is spreading. Need help.

Entry Number 261
The scrawling upon this page vaguely looks like words, but it is too jumbled and nearly illegible. It is clear that whomever wrote this could barely move and had much difficulty in focusing

((OOC - Computer is trying to destroy itself, it seems. I'm saving all my important files and making a backup, but I might need to reinstall Windows, or swap over to another OS. Sorry about missing today. I REALLY REALLY was trying to get on.))

((Love the entry and I'm sorry about your computer - that seriously sucks. I figured something was up. Let me know if you need any company catching up when you manage to get back on. We missed you but we were able to get a couple dungeon runs in; we lucked out in PUG-land and got an RPer from another server healing for us! :D. Good luck with the computer rescue; I will keep my fingers crossed for you.))

Hey der...you still doing the guild and need more members? It seems you are doing rather well as far as rp is concerned. I would rather heal than anything, but open to any dps. Tell me what you need and I will roll. Also any preferrence on male or female? I can do either, and I have heirlooms so I can catch you fairly fast.

((Yikes! I hope you feel better soon. Here's a quick journal blurb from none other than the imp.))

<The following is written in Demonic, on a scrap of parchment that burns to the touch>

Master says funny poster means her. We get to go to the Valley of Trials. It's smelly there.

----

We meet stupid orcs and stupid boar in Sen'jin Village. Actually, boar might be really tasty. But Master glared at me when I asked her if I could roast it. She's going to go hide in the blood elf library again. No fun.

----

Master drags me along to kill boarmen. Not as tasty as normal boar. Why me?

-----

Master says we go to the Wailing Caverns today. It smells. Master met really talkative druid there. Do cows talk more because they have bigger tongues? Maybe I should cut it out and see...

-----

Master's new friend met another new friend, just as stupid. Master showed Master's book to both. They made funny faces. What would happen if I stole the book? They'd make even funnier faces, then!

Master also has new dress. Master looks fat in--uh oh, gotta go.

I've been out sick for a bit, so let me catch up with everyone and see what we have, and I will get back to you once I know what our current roster looks like :-)

12/16/12 Meeting ((sorry so late to report!))

Egar introduced Mirchi to his mentor, the elder warrior Korravai, the very woman who had drunkenly linked his brand to a clan identity weeks before. Mirchi, meanwhile, had found an old book listing dozens of orc clans and their symbols, and had found their brand next to an entry labeled "Stonebreaker." Though the information given on the clan was generic, very outdated, and not particularly helpful, Egar was thrilled to receive the book from Mirchi despite Korravai's growled warnings that "some things should just be left alone."

The three of them ran into another elder at the Crossroads, a hunter named Kagran who regaled them with the story of his clan's attack on Stormwind back in the day. Korravai dozed off during the story, having "heard it all before," but Mirchi and Egar were raptly interested in the tale of Orcish history.

((OOC: I hope to be on around 1pm server time today, or perhaps a little later, to meet new and prospective clan members and/or RP and/or make guild plans! Anyone who is interested in this story, clan member or not, is welcome to join our channel stonebreakerooc. ))

((I will be recruiting for another week - recruiting will close after that to keep things small and manageable and to allow us to go ahead and proceed with the leveling portion of the project! So if you are interested in this guild please contact me via this forum, in-game mail, or in-game tells before December 30! We'll be starting our regular dungeon runs after New Year, and I want to have our membership and schedule set up by then!))
