What is this?

This is an open invitation to any and all roleplayers to join the new members of <First Stormwind Regiment> at the Northshire Abbey for group questing!

Recently, upon the creation of the regiment, new potentials to the Alliance military were sent notifications to report to Northshire Abbey for orientation and prelimenary training. These aspiring defenders of the Alliance... are you!


How does it work, and how do I get involved?

Well, obviously to quest in Northshire abbey with a group, the best course of action is to create a level 1 human alt. After that, at 6:30 server time on Monday, February 27th, individual groups will be formed to begin questing together.


All participating players shall receive:

An invitation to the guild on his/her level 1 alt

A guild tabard

Needed supplies to cover early training and white-level armor sets

While you quest with your in-training comrades, you'll be required to remain in your starting gear and tabard until you reach level 5 and are given the more matching white sets available in Goldshire (provided). This may not make much of a difference at first, but as you level up in the future installments of this event series, you'll have to rely on each other to make up for the loss in gear stats!

Those who wish to participate should create this alt and send me a mail or in-game tell *on that alt* for a calendar invite.

If you have full character slots, wish to donate gold to these events, have questions, concerns or comments, feel free to post here or send me an in-game mail/tell. Hope to see you there, and....

A few questions:

- What kind of time commitments are you looking for on this?
- Will each installment be set for "until you accomplish X", or just a set amount of time and you call it done? Or is it up to each team?
- Are the new characters off limits unless the event is on, or may the owner log into them for non-leveling purposes in between?
- As people level, do you plan to provide "upgrades" of new, level-appropriate whites?
- Will this be open to new level-1 teams forming up in future rounds, or is the 27th the only sign-up day until you're done?
- Would you object to people using potions, scrolls, and enchants to boost their stats? (If not, I know a couple of guys who can tackle that for ya.)

...Well, more than a few questions. Sorry.

As far as commitment, beyond joining the guild on the initial day of questing, there is none. You are more than free to join us on the first day and never touch the alt again. This was primarily set up so that any player could come and experience this new guild.

That's a good question, and I hadn't considered that. As I said before, after playing along and experiencing day one, you are free to do with your character what you please. However, keep in mind that these groups may continue to quest together, so levelling on your own time could put you way ahead of your partners, taking the challenge out of it for the others.

As far as "Day 1" is concerned, I'd say each group should go until they all agree to a stopping point. It can be for 30 minutes, until level 10 or for 5 hours. Totally up to the individual groups.

As said above, it's your character. That's entirely up to you. Teams are more than welcome to get together outside the events and progress on their own time, as well.

On each event day, players are free to create new teams or progress with theirs if they already have one. On each event day, one of the group members would just need to send me or an officer a tell for their own mini-orientation and IC introductions.

That's up to you, honestly. I'm not gonna police people for their gear, and if you feel enchants are neccessary, then by all means.

This is a really intriguing idea. Good luck with it. Pia will furnish items as needed. Just let us know.

We're still looking for folks that want to attend this event! All ya need is an empty character slot and a little time to burn. This has a lot of potential to be a large, fun event, but we need people to come! :D

Is this to be a pure leveling guild? Or, is it an RP guild that will grow through these type of events?

If it's a role playing guild, why chose a name so similar to The First Regiment?

What will differetiate the First Stormwind Regiment from role playing guilds like The Stormwind Guard and The First Regiment?

Not putting down your idea, it actually sounds like fun. Just curious as to what this guilds philosophy or futute plans are.

This guild will cater to the needs of its members, be that levelling, PvP, dungeoning, or especially RP. The event itself was created to give anyone a taste of what we are about, and that's the only (active) Alliance military guild on the server.

If you're referring to a guild, I wasn't aware one called <The First Regiment> exists. If the First Regiment is an ingame group, you could consider this guild to be the First Regiment of Stormwind.

I assume you mean the <Stormwind City Watch>. That guild is a law enforcement guild run by Orwyn on this server, and as he or I can say, there are extreme differences. For one, you don't see Watch members out enforcing Alliance defenses against the Horde. They handle problems of criminal nature from Alliance members themselves. We don't.

I have to ask. I notice you are from Emerald Dream, not Cenarion Circle. Could these guilds you mention be from your server, and not this one?

I checked the armory, and they're not unless I'm missing something. Plenty of Stormwind Guard's for other servers, the First Regiment is rare even on other servers.

(And who cares? Question might still be valid. Either way, this sounds like a lot of fun, and I wish I had an empty character slot still!)

Actually, as of a few weeks ago we did take on more actual guard work for Stormwind's territory in addition to law enforcement in order to broaden the guild's appeal and get more people into it. We're still limited to Stormwind proper, Elwynn, Redridge, Westfall, and Duskwood though.

Oops. I just remembered. Both of the guilds he mentioned exist on Moon Guard.

So, either he got confused and thought this forum was the Moon Guard forum, or...I really don't know what his point would be. From a logical standpoint, I can't imagine why Narn would need to worry about competition from MG for membership that's on CC.

Whoops! Yeah, I was searching around on the forums and found this thread. I have this character on Emerald Dream and several characters on Moon Guard. I guess when I saw this thread my thoughts immediately jumped to Moon Guard's military styled guilds.

Anywho, best of luck with your military styled guild! I've been a part of af ew great ones on Moon Guard and I know how much fun they can be.

((Check out Moon Guards realm forums. There is a thread that was created by a player named Maxen. He has a stickied thread that has many different uniforms compiled that replicate in game NPC's that you can find in-game for your character! Again, best of luck and sorry for the confusion on my part.))

(( Many thanks to Orwyn and Masser for coming out to support us. Perhaps we'll try to do this again in the future with hopes that at least a couple people will attend. ))
