Your guild will be Dominion of the Moon! Canon!

I lol'd. Probably won't be for awhile but I can do story planning~

Can I save this to my comp for easy access while planning, Melyria?

Of course you can.

Edit: I also suggest people thumb up the OP if they like the guide. That might unlock the additional links.

This is me if I ever pick up my elves again...on a serious note though!

This is an amazingly in-depth guide, the fact that you posted where the info came from too is really great. I'm really impressed though I haven't gotten to read through the full thing yet. 20 posts is a LOT!

Hey Melyria have you considered putting this on another part of the forums as well? It seems like the Moon Guard forums are a bit specialized.

True! It might be worth posting on the general RP forum as well as here. :)

True story. I pick up mana strudels even if I don't have a mana bar...

I was thinking of it, yes. Just going to wait a bit, still a bit giddy over posting it here.

Great work on this here guide. The first one you put out so long ago was a big help to me in deciding to come Alliance and play nelves. This one is even better written, and includes sources, and is academically yummy. Of course there's a part or two I don't like, but I always ignored them in my RP anyway. :-P
Too bad it looks like there are people already trying to start drama in this thread though. If ya can't say something nice...talk about the weather.
So we should all be perky little sycophantic princesses? Grow up and learn that people have opinions other than yours. If you can't do that, don't post.

Yeah, this. We're not trying to flame (apparently, disagreeing with a popular roleplayer now means you're a hater, troll, or just aiming to start something. Oh, Moon Guard, how you've changed.), we're offering our constructive criticisms on the guide.

I'm reluctant to trust it if there are conflicts with the game and the guide. For one, it states that Arcane Magic is "illegal in Teldrassil" which is not the case as shown by the Portal to Exodar in the Temple of Elune. This was mentioned on page 3, and there is still no response to it.

. It'd be interesting to see if there's a weight guide out there for all the races. I haven't checked.

a bad website

Don't link to wowwiki please, it's a terrible website and wowpedia is far better, not to mention most of that is based on books that aren't canon anymore.

I personally write that off as Game Mechanics, myself. Makes the most sense to me. Seems rather clear to me in Wolfheart that the Highborne are not to use magic in the area of Teldrassil, given how Malfurion swoops down on them and throws a fit when they try.

Blizzard just needed a place to put the portals they put in all the cities, and decided to use that. Personally, I think where they put the mage trainer would have worked better, but I don't think they wanted to put forth the effort to move the existing portal.

Game mechanics? It doesn't change the fact that it is in-game and is in the Temple of Elune-- one of the holiest and most sacred Kaldorei locations--showing that society does in fact now society. I would understand "game mechanics" a bit more if it was just the Dark Portal portal which is in all locations, but it also includes the Portal to the Exodar.

Great guide Mely, it really shows that you put a lot of research behind your reasoning. Going to read up on it some more when I have the chance!

Sorry! :( It was the only one I could remember off hand (I don't particularly care for WoWWiki either, it was just easiest to find). The fact that the books aren't canon shouldn't matter in this case, it's not some fact or lore it's the basic weight of characters. It shouldn't be used as a rule but rather a guide as to what Blizzard thought would be the appropriate weight of races ranging from thin to slightly plump. (As the female human weight only goes up to 245) It's just a reference, really nothing more.

Because, unfortunately, it means that Darnassus would be the only city without a portal to the Blasted Lands and the trek between the two Kalimdor cities was too difficult to make. These are OOC reasons.

I suggest you go read Wolfheart.
