Is CC a good place to settle down?

Hullo CC.

My name is Erylyn and I'm looking for a new....home. Currently I have an alt in Homeland, and am enjoying their company immensly, but I need more input before I make the leap. I started out as a Belf Holy Paladin on Earthen Ring, since my friends were there. After multiple mishaps (and jerks griping about ilvl) I found myself leaving the Horde and ER for my current Draenei Pally on Garona.

That led me to my new home with Warriors Within, a guild I love to death, but that does not hold the interests of myself and my boyfriend (and WoW companion). I would like to raid now that I am geared and at level cap, but am very laid back about it. I just want to enjoy the game (and am looking forward to Rping again after many years hiatus). So, does CC raid at all? I don't mean 3 days a week heroic progression, be there or be kicked out of our LEET group, just, does anyone form groups for the upper content and is interested in taking on a laid back Healer and her DPS tag-along? XD

I'm also interested in going back to Horde, but i have to admit I like the Alliance. I love the mounts, I'll miss my tail if I go Belf again, and I like Stormwind (looks wise). But my Boyfriend started undead, swears alligence to the Dark Lady, and misses CC horribly (it's his original server). So, I need advice/encouragement. Should I move to CC?

PS- If any of you remembers an Undead Warlock named Morthei, he says hello.

((Welcome! We were glad to see you in the tavern yesterday, sorry I was in and out of the place so much. xD))

((I know that there is definitely raiding on CC. Homeland, to my knowledge, doesn't have an active raid group, we're mostly an RP guild. But some of our members do raid, and some of them do so on a regular basis with other groups or guilds.))

((In my experience, CC is an awesome server for RP, and for fun. It's a very friendly, familial atmosphere and there's always something going on, somewhere, and even when there's not there's plenty of fun to be had on the forums! I'd say read over the forum stickies, join HordeOOC and Hearthstone, and, if you haven't already, join our channel, too! There's always something zany in the "homeland" chat channel.))

((Again, welcome!))

((Swearing allegiance to the Dark Lady can become fairly unhealthy with the political state of CC these days... But that's just this warmongering puppy talking... ;)

CC is an amazing server with some fun, really nice people. I don't have much experience with RP Horde-side, though I know we have some fantabulous RP guilds over there like Modas il Toralar, Homeland, and people can even convince Drakehide to RP if they can get him to stop poncing about shouting "GLORIOUS!" every 5 seconds.

<3 ya, Drake. ;)

For Alliance side, should you choose to keep your tail (don't worry about tauren tails; they're only good for swishing away those huge flies out in the Barrens...), /join AllianceOOC and meet the folks.

And if ya wanna make war on the Horde while you're there, the Ebon Sanction is recruiting. ;) We're glorious too, we're just too dark and emo to say so.))

Yesss...we are indeed a most awesome place to stay /sagenod. Raiding happens a decent amount, Dungeons and older content are almost always happening for nifty things. As for RP...I recently heard that we were an abnormal server in that regard O.o we're a horribly close knit group for the most part with large involved plots that drag as many people as we can latch into. As a byproduct of the close knit part there are a very large number of us connected via Real-ID so cross faction RP happens much more often then you would think! (Sometimes I feel like a switchboard operator!)

In short, sit, stay, enjoy! /runs

PS: *Still sticks you with the monicker Lyn*

((Well, you all sure made me grin. XD I loved Rping with everyone last night, I had to force myself away from the computer since I had work early this morning (which is why I'm not on the server currently). I guess, I have an idea. Since Ery and Mort are conjoined at the hip, I shall give up my tail in favor of perky ears and piercings.))

((But fear not my dear Alliance friends! I shall create....-DUN DUN DUN- a Draenei Priest! I'm a healer at heart and so it shall stay. Now....the grind to level 85 on Allie side shall commence! *shudders*))

((It may be a week or so before Ery is offically on CC, since Mort is almost done with the horrible grind of rep for Hydroxian waterlords, and would like to keep his human/guild perks until finished.))

CC is and always will be my RP home.
It's smaller than some of the big ones like Moon Guard, and Wrymrest Accord, but I find that makes everything so much better when you're interacting with fellow players.

These are people you are going to play with extensively, people that you'll get to know both IC and OOC. Not a single one I've found to be a person I'd rather not talk to. CC is small-ish, but so much more like a close knit family.

If you're new, I can tell you through experience that these people will not scorn, ignore, or troll you.

Just hop in to AllianceOOC or HordeOOC and say "Hello! I'm new to CC! or RP!" I guarantee the welcomes will be warm and truly heartfelt, the excitement will be tangible and the number of tacklehugs, smacks with the frying pans of doom, and roguish tricks will make you smile and want to stay here.

The raiding scene is here on CC, many of the RP guilds with a plethora of 85's have groups that raid. Pia Presidium, Ocheliad, Conclave, etc... They all raid, and are happy to bring extra members of the community that wish to go. They're not elitists, they're RPers and raiders who take both casually, and just go to have fun.

((Whoops, meant to post this on Arlston))

The biggest problem with looking for raiding in an RP environment is that everyone has a different opinion of "laid back" :)

You can find every extreme here from "so laid back we can't even clear the trash to the first boss" to "We're not going to expect you to come every week, but you better not think that means you can come in without being geared, gemmed, and enchanted, or without a clue how to actually play your spec"

I'd advise poking around and trying to get random filler spaces with a few groups before choosing a permanent home. Find out which guild fits your personal style best :)

@Cutabove~ Yes, I hoped on HordeOOC and everyone was so nice and helpful. I ended up searching the guild reqruitment area, ran across Homeland's channel, and found some awesome people to RP with already. Thank you for some of the guild names, I'm definately okay with just being a tag along for a guild :)

@Alelsa~ My definition of laid back is letting people be flexible about making it to raids (I do have a life outside of WoW that is sometimes > Wow), not getting mad about wiping a few times at first, and being willing to help people learn. I've done LFR, I run heroics, I know how to heal, but I'm not perfect and am always interested in constructive criticism or help. I just got tired of the comments about Ilvl and "must PST achievement". I want to learn, have fun, and protect Azeroth.

((I promise, I only wear pants under my skirt ;) ))

As thrice my name has been canted, come shall I...

(( I look forward to the glorious dawning of a new day in which I can look up from my crypt and see the sun rise over the Ruins of Lordaeron... and then promptly look away and yell "GAH! BRIGHT!" because I was looking into the sun.

Trying to cross-reference my memory with the now, does anyone know how Hester's doin'? She was a friend of mine from Da Doctas and last I heard she up and vanished on us. Speaking of which, how are Da Doctas, AAMS, Ishnu por Ah, House of Trensha, Modas il Toralar, and the rest doing?

Oh, and before I forget... I LOVE YOU GUYS! I MISSED YOU ALL! ...wait, who are some of you again? ))

House of Trensha moved to WRA. "Forsaken Watchers" is the name of Crestaen's guild. <yanks his coattails for good measure--and for leaving us!>
Da Doctas and AAMS are still alive and kicking. Modas il Toralar saw a HUGE comeback just recently. And by recently, I mean, they went and killed off Pillar of Honor on Saturday. Eh heh heh.
Ishnu Por Ah I'm not as certain of. I believe they're idling/inactive, though you can still find their members running about.
A lot of old faces over in Razortalons, now, too. That'd be the first place I'd check for us oldies.

Hester...I think she's left the game? She has an alt in the AAMS that I haven't seen played for a few months, so I don't know.

((Yeah! Then he'll stuff gnomes in them, and Belpha can hex them and I can whack them with my frying Pan of Doom! GLOOOORIOUS Frogball!

On another note, CC is alive and kicking, and many of the players from Vanilla are still running around. Well, I think. I haven't been around on CC long enough to know, but I love it to death.

Ery, we all hope you make the switch (I saw you H-side yesterday, and for having been on hiatus, you're pretty awesome. And to Morth, welcome back!))

I don't think you'll have issue finding a casual raid on Cenarion Circle. :)

Not much more to add. Other people have already filled this thread with bounce and cheer.

We're idling. Biding our time. After 7+ years of constant play and leading an RP guild that raided, this cow needs a break. No Red, no major guild activity. What do ya know, I'm actually important!
