A short story from the life of Alanassa (RP).

Alanassa shakes her head thinking to herself, sitting in the Scarlet Raven Tavern should be reason enough to not tell anyone she has the curse of the Worgen. Though she chuckles at the mere thought of such a big guy like that Millstipe fellow wearing a shirt with ruffles, the fear still haunts her from when she was captured and caged back in Gilneas. During her time improving on her skills in Druidism she had come to realize that though Gilnean Worgen have generally been accepted by the main group of the Alliance, there are still people who place Worgen as a threat.

She lets out a sigh, wondering if things would be better if she joined the Cenarion Circle and asked to be placed at a post somewhere remote. She's so tired of the different wars that seem to be going on all around her, but she knows if she's going to join a Guild she's going to have to at least heal the wounded, most likely in battle meaning people are going to find out anyways that she has the curse. But she needs the resources a Guild can provide, let alone the social interaction she seems to need with other Humans caused by the increase time she spends in Cat Form. She's learned just enough information already during her short time in the outside realms that she wants to know more. More about the Forsaken that had destroyed her home and what to expect if she ever has a chance to keep herself safe.

"Oh what to do" Alanassa asks quietly to herself and looks up from her scroll to see a large cat sitting on the banister near Mabel Solaj. She didn't see the Druid twitch an ear at all and hoped he hadn't heard her. Remembering a task she had to do for Gudvine she figured now would be her best chance to get that done. Flying was always fun anyways and she was going to have to cover a fair bit of ground.

As she worked her way up the stairs to leave the Tavern she notices large scars on the cat's face and nearly gasps at the sight of them. She quickly forces a smile at the Druid hoping not to seem like she's provoking something or rude for the stare.

"Gah!" she silently exclaims to herself in thought, "So much violence".

During her flight to Strangle Thorn Vale she wonders how the druid had gotten that claw mark. She suddenly felt a pain of remorse for the Druid, at least she can hide her scar for the most part. A tear escapes her control, though in Flight Form at her speed it hardly needed to be wiped away. She was glad she at least had her Feral abilities, though it wouldn't help her if she choose to be a healer. Frustrated she lets out a screeching caw on one of her down beats and pulls herself nearly vertical flapping her wings with all her might. The wind, the warm feel of the sun on her dark feathers and smell of salt from the ocean almost threw her off from her temper tantrum but with a snarl she came out of Flight Form right into her Worgen Form. For a split second it felt like she wasn't ascending or descending, just floating.

"You need to figure this out girl" she snarled aloud to herself in that horrible Worgen voice. "Either end it now or get over this silly fear and face the fact that the life you knew is over with". She felt gravity grip her body, except for her stomach like a rope connected to the world was suddenly pulled propelling her ever faster to the ground below. She closed her eyes in hopes that not being able to see the ground come closer would keep her from changing back to Flight Form out of instinct alone. But it wasn't helping, with a beastly roar that nearly distracted her she opened her eyes mere feet from the ground, shifted in to Flight Form and beat her wings as hard as she could to stop her free fall. The crushing force of air under her wings nearly snapped them like twigs and she was forced to land. Ashamed of her foolishness she quickly shifted to Cat Form, stealthed and limped to a tree where she could lie in peace, except for her racking sobs.

((though the story seems to make her sound like she's not in a guild even though she already is, the guild I'm in is not an RP guild and I will be working on joining one in the near future. I just wanted to join some guild, while I leveled for the xp, mount and hearth bonus.))

Alanassa could feel the curse of the Worgen pressing in on her. The rage that monster brings out of her is starting to show it's fangs even when she's in her Human form. "The healing?!" she growls then quickly covers her mouth with her human hands.

Sitting on top of the tower off the corner of the old Barracks in Stormwind she wasn't likely heard, but the sound of her voice still caught her off guard.

"I don't know how much more of this I can take" she says quietly to herself. After that day in Strangle Thorn Vale she had been ignoring requests to heal for parties trying to take out specific targets. She had even gone back to the ruins of Gilneas, and to the rubble left behind in the Headlands where she grew up to see if that might help. She wished she could speak to some of the other members of the Cenarion Circle, or to other Gilneans but many of them didn't seem talkative, or just want her to go on another quest.

That evening Alanassa decided to accept a request to help defend Wyrmrest Temple. She wasn't happy with the idea but she needed something to do to take her mind of things and felt better when she found out the group she was assigned to consisted of other Worgen and a Night Elf. Part way through the evening during a lull in the waves of attacks from the enemy she took a moment to come out of her Worgen form and relax a little. Healing was definitely a task that helped to keep her mind in check, most of the time she would end up so busy that she wouldn't even notice she was a Worgen.

After checking in with the other Worgen in her party she noticed that she couldn't see the Night Elf, which normally isn't hard to miss. The other Worgens just shrugged when she asked, they were more interested in picking through the bodies looking for anything they could loot. Alanassa was about to check her bag for her Hearthstone when she heard a cry come from the other side of a snow drift.

Alanassa looked up to see a Human sprinting over the snow drift waving her arms yelling "a little help here!" with four massive creatures chasing after her. Not concerned about who the Human was, or why she was dressed up like a pirate in a place like this Alanassa quickly ran over and cast a Rejuvenation on the poor woman. The creatures turned their attention to her, as they normally do if there isn't someone there to help keep their attention off her when she heals. With a cry form the sudden change back to her Worgen form the other members of the party looked up from their pillaging and jumped to aid in the attack.

"What in the world are you doing in a place like this and what convinced you to socialize with the likes of them?" Alanassa asked the woman, not even noticing that she had spoken to someone in her Worgen form.

"Oh, I'm with your party, I'm the Night Elf. I got bored so I thought I'd go scouting a little and bumped into these guys" the pirate looked down "I'm sorry, but you haven't been talkative at all and these" she rolled her eyes as she pointed at the other Worgen "buffoons only seem to be interested in looting the corpses, when I get bored I start to rummage around in my bags and I found a piece of Savory Deviate Delight that I didn't remember having so I figured now would be a good time to free up the bag space". None of the other Worgen seemed to have heard what she had said, they just sniffed and snorted as they picked through the fresh pile of dead.

Alanassa couldn't believe her ears, or her eyes. The woman was not only in a human form during combat situations but her voice was different. Another wave of enemy combatants came charging through the line, and she was forced to resume her healing duties, but she kept a close eye on the woman. The effects seem to last a while, through combat after combat and even lasted when the woman was injured. Alanassa took her chance, during a pause in the combat while treating a wound the woman sustained from a particularly grotesque monster that had shown up and noticed her before the Death Knight has a chance to gain it's attention.

"Where do you find this Deviate what ever it is" Alanassa asked the woman.

"It's a fish, you can catch them in Northern Barrens in the pool out by the Wailing Caverns" the woman sighed slightly "though the recipe is hard to come by, you'll most likely have to ask someone to make it for you, I've been looking for it for a while now and outside of finding it in the auction house I couldn't tell you where you might be able to find it".

That news didn't seem to phase Alanassa at all. The woman was still a human after all this time. It was nearly time for the group to be finished and this woman was still a human. This was exactly what she was looking for.

"Does it make you feel any different" she asked worried it might seem like a silly question.

"Took a bit to get used to hardly having any ears" the woman said with a slight smile.
