Some of you may have noticed that CSI Undercity has mysteriously vanished, and all its former members are now part of a guild called "The Netherforged".
It's still the same guild!
We undertook a name change after a lot of discussion and polling for potential new names. The original guild leader is returning to WoW, and was upset that he wasn't getting "his guild" back. The fact is, the guild grew away from him over time, becoming something other than that he intended/wanted, and by the time he had quit WoW, it had been long overdue for him to step down from leadership.
He isn't rejoining our guild, and so as a compromise we decided to namechange so that in 3 months he can reclaim his guild name and start anew, and perhaps this time be more cautious in his recruiting policy to better maintain the sort of guild he wants to have (IE super casual/social). The issues with the former leader are compounded by the fact that I, the current leader, never liked the name to begin with.
So we are now "The Netherforged". Still the same guild, the same people, the same level of progression, just with a new (less silly, more RP friendly) label.
