((I'd like to have some critisism on the biography that I wrote for this character. Any clue to make it less Mary-Sued, if applicable, will be greatly appreciated))
Kael was born during the harsh days of the aftermath of the second war, in Lordaeron. Though he wasn't truly a citizen of that kingdom. Only a refugee, with his father being a battle priest from Stormwind and his mother a scout of the Stromgarde army. Kael never got to know her, as she died at his birth. His father took him to Capital City, where he grew in a secluded ambient, as his father wanted for the threat of the Horde to end completely before returning to Stormwind.
When they were able to came back, the first thing Kael did was to reclute himself in the training course of the paladin, as he had listened countless times the stories of the battle deeds of Uther the Lightbringer, Commander Turalyon and Tirion Fordring. The three knights, with his father, formed an image of idealism and honor that Kael was eager to fulfill.
At age 13 his almost ideallistic world torn apart when he started to hear the terrible news about how prince Arthas killed lord Uther and defiled almost everything of Lordaeron. Desperate, he hoped to be recruited and go north to help in whatever he could. Sadly to him, his request was rejected as he was 'too young'.
The anger grew in him as he felt useless, until his father reminded him that his time would come. That heroes are not only the ones called up by the people, but also the silent ones that build the history. That made Kael think, and made him realize that he wouldn't do a thing as a fool, weak kid. He intensified his training as a paladin, but also sunk into studies at the Cathedral of Light, searching for answers that even the wise men of old didn't have. He couldn't find those answers either, but his search had a deep change in him. He became calm and contemplative, a philosopher and a knight in one person.
Months before he turned 18 his father passed away, though it wasn't a tragedy for him. The sadness was calmed thanks to his teachings (and the fact that his father died of old age). After that, Kael finished his training and became a paladin on his own right. His first desire was to go to his birthplace, so he recruited himself in the Argent Dawn and went to the Eastern Plaguelands. There he gained his first experience in the battlefield, when he helped open the gates of Stratholme and clean from the undead the place. It was a futile effort, as the Lich King had an almost infinite army that he could throw to them, but they kept pressing on.
Some years passed in what seemed almost a routine, pushing back and resisting the advance of the Scourge, until the Battle of Light's Hope Chapel. He was a witness, one of many that saw the return of Highlord Tirion Fordring and the creation of the Argent Crusade. Kael hastily became one of the new members of the order, and traveled with the newly formed force to Northrend.
The cold Icecrown Glacier was where Kael truly became a paladin, as he looked many times to the eyes of death and survived. Stationed at the Breach, he fought the Scourge with renewed strength and shoulder to shoulder with his comrades of the Argent Crusade.
It was there where he had a life changing epyphany, when he got surrounded by a whole attacking force of the Scourge. The moment he felt the cold grasp of death on his neck, Crusader Bridenbrad came to save him. Passing out seconds after, he got to know that the brave paladin that saved his life was lost in action. There, he was once again witness of a great deed, as he helped open a path through Scourgeholme to reach the resting place of Bridenbrad, where Highlord Fordring delivered him to the Light of A'dal.
This event crystallized in Kael his complete commitment to the Light. Now completely certain of his path, he resumed fighting at the Breach and kept the Scourge at bay while Tirion and Darion Mograine defeated the Lich King. There wasn't a moment of more happiness for Kael, as he felt that the world was now a safer place, thanks to the demise of the dreaded lord of the Scourge.
But there was no resting for the still young paladin, as a new threat came in the form of the Aspect of Death. Coming back to Stormwind, he quickly put himself at service of the Alliance Army, answering the call of arms wherever he was sent.
And life had another role for him: his return to Stormwind gave him a new opportunity to get back into his softer side, as Kael was able once again to dug into the books he loved so much but that war kept him from reading as he used to do. The new interest in archeology seems like a whole new sphere of knowledge he'd like to explore, and he keeps searching for new answers to his eternal questions about the nature of the Light. Seeing A'dal at Icecrown Glacier only awoken the spark of the researcher in him. It would be something that Kael would have to deal with, and he is eager to do so.
