Rising Moon Inn ((OPEN RP))

On the edges of Ratchet, a relatively new building had been raised, the wooden sign on bore an image of a moon rising over the water. The porch, complete with rocking chairs and a porch swing, was vacant, and a slight hum of conversation drifted out of the doors that were propped open.

A male Blood Elf stood behind the bar, beside him a Gnome perched on a rolling stool. The two men chatted companionably and wiped glasses down. The tavern was cool compared to the heat of the day outside. The quiet buzz of conversation was accented by the sound of the port town. Dock workers called back and forth to one another, and the sound of the bustling commerce was everywhere. The barkeepers kept up a slow conversation with one another.

"Hey, Tal'ethi, you seen any of those Rising Sun folks recently?"

"No, Gig, I have not," the Blood Elf responded.

Grinning, the diminutive man gestured to a woman in the corner, "I think she's one of them, you should go talk to her, buddy! She might know something about getting you in, or she might be the woman you've been looking for."

Tal frowned, "She's wearing a wedding ring, idiot."

Falling silent, Gig went back to wiping glasses for a moment, "You were looking hard enough to notice that?"

The drab decor in the room was simple, wood furnishings an paintings on the wall, as well as a large map of Azeroth. The common room was simple enough, and the two men smiled as they looked around. On a rack behind the barkeepers, fifteen keys hung from hooks for the rooms upstairs.

The patrons themselves were a mixed group, Horde and Alliance commingled, or not, as their personalities suited them. Behind the bar, a doorway led to the kitchen, where a Human and an Orc worked to provide food.

At a table off to one side, a Blood Elf woman sat quietly, reading a book and writing on a sheet of parchment. In front of her was arrayed a number tomes, a black book with odds and ends peeking out of the covers, and a piece of soap hanging from it, a green leather book that was laying open to a page about the Common language, and a small, purple, cloth bound book that bore no markings on the cover.

Kel'tira Sunblaze cursed under her breath as her quill snapped again. Drawing her dagger, the Blood Elf paladin sharpened her writing utensil to a fresh point and resumed her painstaking practice. The Common language something she had set herself to learning, she was not to be deterred by a broken quill.

Taking a drink from the mug by her elbow, Kel looked around the room, She was one of the relatively few people there. No doubt others would turn up. Sighing, she turned back to her work, forming words silently and feeling the strange syllables roll off her tongue.

Her red hair fell from her messy bun around her face, and her fine features were partially obscured. Her armor was piled by her chair, her sword and shield were d!%!!d over the back of her seat. Her red tabard showed a white, rising sun.

((Welcome one and all! This tavern is set up for any and all to join in. The members of the Rising Sun and Phoenix Fellowships are specifically encouraged to join! Dreyburn dragged himself into this new inn that one of his friends had reccomended to him. He sat down at a table and looked at the occupants of the room. Not many, but there was one person who got his attention.

It was a red haired bloodelf who looked to be studying a language of some sort. From the distance it looked to be common but that didn't matter. What mattered is the way she looked. Her red hair... Her armor.... She looked so simmilar to his wife who had just passed a week ago to those damn cultists. Dreyburn silently stared at her, looking away every so often as to not attract suspicion.

After a few minutes of staring he silently whispered the name of his fallen wife. "Tel'nara.....".

Nicias Sunblaze walked into the bar and turned his head left and right until it fell upon his wife. He slowly and sneakingly, as sneaky as a warrior in full plate could be, went behind her and covered her eyes. She jumped and after he laughed at surprising her, gently kissed her. He sat next to her and looked over the tomes she was so fervently studying.
"Love, are you trying to become a mage or something?"

Kel looked at her husband, startled, as he kissed her, and then down at her books, smiling lopsidedly.

"You know, love, I really did not expect to see you here..." Chuckling, Kel'tira set her quill down, and caught Nicias's hand in her own, "As for becoming a mage? You know how boring that would be for me... I like the thick of things. But no, I am learning Common."

Frustrating in her eyes as she gestured at the books in front of her, she took another drink of the firewater in her glass, glancing up and meeting the Tauren's gaze. Smiling at him slightly, she looked back at Nicias and then down at her books, "This seemed like a good idea at the time," she told him in Common, and then chuckled, repeating herself in Orcish.

The heat was getting to her, Lilli hated the hot dry air of the desert. The sea breeze was only marginally keeping her from sweltering. Turning to her water elemental she glared at it until it sprayed her gently with a cooling mist. "This is impossible, I need a drink. I think I will check out the new tavern. It looks cool and inviting. Stay out here they do not like your drippy self inside." she dismissed the elemental and walked into the tavern.

"Kel'Tira and Nic, how nice to see you! This is an interesting place...just opened I see." her eyes strayed to various parts of the room, inspecting it thoroughly. Catching the tauren's eye, she nodded politely.

The tables were set up to allow at least four people to sit and she indicated the chair next to Kel'Tira, "Mind if I join you?" her smile dimpled her elven face. She glanced at the bartender wondering if he would come and ask for her order or if she had to fetch it herself.

Nicias sat down in the chair with a heavy thud. He felt the weight of his heavy plate would break the small chair, but it held. As Kel said something in common, he was surprised.
"Why do you wan't to speak...their language? I do not think any of them would try to speak our language."

Nicias looked up when he heard the familiar voice of Lilli. He waved and greeted her as she sat down. Nicias' stomach suddenly began to rumble and he quickly got up and returned with some drinks as well as some food. He gave a drink to his wife and lilli and began drinking his own. He felt at ease and very happy

Dreyburn knew that bloodelf had spotted him looking at her. He did not want to look like a stalker so he got up from his table and walked over towards the female and her husband. Dreyburn was on the brink of a meltdown.

During his wife's funeral he had kept his emotions intact, like they were sealed in a jar. But now, the jar was so full it had burst and emotions were spilling out like a tsunami's waves apon a small village. As he approached the bloodelf he said "Im sorry for staring at you. You just remind me of my wife who passed a week ago." Just as he finished the sentance, a warm liquid ran down his cheeks. He was crying.

Nicias saw him over the top of his mug. As the Tauren approached, he slammed the cup onto the table and just watched. He heard the Tauren mention how his wife and Nicias' own were similar. Nicias' tension eased and at the sight of the streaming tears, he felt pity for the poor Tauren. Nicias extended the extra ale he bought for himself towards the Tauren.

"Here, you look like you could use this."

"Lilli!" Kel cried, gesturing to the chair Lilli had asked about, "You are always welcome to join us! What brings you to Ratchet?"

"As for my learning Common, Nic," she said as she accepted the drink from him, "You never know when it might come in handy... I mean, suppose..." She laughed, "Suppose you got caught by Humans, and I couldn't bargain for you? Hmm?"

Laughing at the absurdity of her improvised scenario, Kel began stacking her books and then opened the black bound tome halfway, before closing it and setting it aside.

As the Tauren approached, Kel smiled at him, sympathy lighting her eyes, "I am sorry for your loss... Losing a loved one is... never easy."

As Nic offered the Tauren a drink, Kel chided him, "Nic, you know what alcohol does to you."

Turning back to the Tauren, she added, "My name is Kel'tira, most call me Kel. Why don't you join us?"

Staring at the Tauren, Lilli could not help but feel compassion for the bull. But something was decidedly odd, "Your wife looked like Kel'Tira? I never thought a tauren looked like a blood elf in any way..." her confusion was very apparent. Cross species relationships were virtually forbidden if not downright abhored.

She shrugged it off however and picked up her mead, sipping it delicately. The mead was not quite coold enough for her and she mumbled a few words and frost soon rimmed the mug. "Ah, much better. I do not like warm beverages in this climate."

The coastline swept out and around the edge of Ratchet, the grassy land tumbling over a rocky edge to meet water. The sounds of gulls, lapping water and the occasional creak of wood drifted across the harbor town. The air smelled of salt water and the scent of clean earth that was the Barrens, the two mingling together to form something altogether pleasant. A few stray flowers bobbled their heads as a soft breeze slipped by, gently caressing the cheek of a blood elf woman who was stepping off a ship. The air tugged at several stray strands of brown hair that framed her face and she reached up to tuck a wayward strand behind her ear.

Auxilia moved noiselessly along the dock towards the row of wooden building, nodding a polite hello to the wharf master as she went. The wharf master was bellowing out orders to several dockhands, all of who appeared to be a loss as to what to do concerning several crates. The goblins summarily ignored her, the potential loss of profit too great to be bothered by the elf.

The Rising Moon Inn, Auxilia smiled as the wooden dock gave way to hard ground. This had been her home for close to a week while she had toiled away in this part of Kalimdor. The two proprietors—and unlike duo of blood elf and gnome—had welcomed her to their modest establishment with open arms. She knew that it was because her purse was open, but to someone whose memory only spanned a few months before it went completely blank, an opportunity of friendship with someone had been too great to resist. The end result was that she always got a discount on a bottle of wine—and she always shared it with them.

She pushed open the door and entered surprised to see that several tables were filled with people other than regulars. She spied some members of the Fellowship at one table and a tauren at another, but any greeting was cut off when the two owners noted her arrival.

Upon seeing her enter, the gnome jumped off the chair and moved behind the bar. Soon, a ladder was seeing moving across the floor—the gnome, whose diminutive stature was hidden by the bar, was not visible—and it appeared that the ladder was moving on its own. Soon he appeared as he climbed up the ladder to plucked a dusty bottle from the top shelf. Sliding down, he disappeared from sight again and the bottle of wine was plunked down on the counter. Meanwhile, the blood elf pulled three wine glasses from under the counter and lined them up.

“Auxilia,” Tal gave her a crooked smile as he recited their first introductions, “—it’s just Auxilia—,” he winked, “welcome back!”

He had asked her what her surname was when she had first come to the tavern quite some time ago. Being far from Silvermoon he had been eager to connect with his homeland, but the rogue had none to give (it had been lost to the amnesia, just like her first name) so she had replied, ‘Auxilia—it’s just Auxilia,’ and told herself that she needed to correct that oversight. She had yet to since the matter had not come up again and there were so many other things that needed her attention.

The bottle was opened as she set some coins down on the counter, but Tal shook his head. “This first one is on us,” he said. He picked up the bottle and with a flourish, poured the rich golden liquid into the three glasses, “We have not seen you in quite some time. Has the Horde sent you off in different directions?”

The wine, while not the highest quality (they just didn’t stock anything like that), was quite good. She knew she liked wine, she knew what wines were of quality and what were not—she just did not know how she managed to acquire the knowledge.

“They have,” she said picking up the glass with a smooth motion. “If you could possibly spare me for a moment, I would like to say hello to some friends.”

"Thank you. I am normally able to control my emotions but I couldn't this time." Dreyburn picked up the mug the husband had gave to him and took a big gulp. "Ahh..." he thought, the ale made him calm down a little.

Dreyburn studied the books the bloodelf had been writing in. "AH! You're learning common! I studied common while i was being trained as a druid. Don't know why though, havn't used it once since! haha". Dreyburn thought about it, maybe he will forget about his wife tonight, and have a fun time.

"Oh, I did forget to mention one thing. It may sound wierd but my wife was a bloodelf." Dreyburn then looked at all the shocked faces around him. "Opps..." He muttered.

Agrith'al Gloss entered the small tavern, Cora, his ever trusty pet close behind him. He walked up to the bar and ordered a large mug of ale. As the barkeep brought him it, his eyes turned to meet Auxilia.
"Ah Auxilia, beaut...." Cora growled causing Agrith'al to stop, "It is good to see you again."
Agrith'al smiled devilishly at Auxilia as he downed his ale.

Frowning at the tauren's comment, Lilli sipped her mead, the frost rimmed mug gave off a slight mist of condensation. "I do not think you realize, that your statement might be causing a few of the patrons of the tavern a slight feeling of loathing and disgust. While I feel love can be found anywhere, it might be a good idea not to mention a cross species relationship." her eyes gazed at him with a mixture of distain and compassion.

Her attention was turned to Agrith'al as he entered, "Hello, my goodness won't the cat even let you talk to anyone?" she grinned as he sat down and the cat followed him.

"Auxi! How are you today! I hear you have been in this area for quite some time, I see you have some friends." she smiled at the blood elf bartender and the tiny gnome.

Kel smoothed the shock from her face, muttering some little reminder to herself about accepting others, "Either way, I am sorry." Leaning against Nic, she set her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. Opening them as she heard someone else enter, she smiled slightly and shut her eyes again.

"Auxilia!" she called, eyes still closed, "Come join us?"

Wrapping an arm around Nic's shoulders, Kel sighed frowning slightly as she opened her eyes to look around the table, her gaze lingering on Nic's face, "Don't leave me?" she whispered to him, seeking reassurance.

((Thanks. :D ))

A loud CRUNCH near the window made a few heads turn. A large bird had hit the glass, and was sprawled with its wings out. A second later the bird fell off the window and hit the ground with a rather unbirdlike grunt of pain and a "Ow!"

A second later a windswept looking troll female walked into the inn. Looking at her, the first word that would come to mind would be...wild. She had flaming bright red hair that stuck up in all direction, some parts braided and some parts not, and long tusks. The troll was wearing brown leather armor with green trim, and her gloves and lower part of her sleeves were completely blood spattered. The only non-wild thing about her appearance was her rather young looking face.

Looking around the room, she found an old...acquaintance of hers near a table full of blood elves. Striding over, she threw one of her bloodied arms around his shoulders. "Hiya." she said.

"(insert name here!) I cant believe your here! Oh and um... Nice entrance there... haha!"

Feeling dizzy, Dreyburn stood up to go to the washroom. He made it only a few steps before collapsing.

((Doesn't like blood? And see ya))

Kiazya rolled her eyes as he walked off, but the annoyed look was quickly changed to genuine concern as the tauren fell down. "...You okay, Drey?" she asked, kneeling down next to him and gently shaking his shoulder.
