My apologies to my guild. Just as I don't let things that happen in the game affect RL, I shouldn't let things in RL affect what happens in my game either. Sometimes this can be difficult, and it may occasionally happen. And for this I apologize.

I apologize for not interacting with you last night, not running instances, or just chatting and RPing with you. Sometimes you may not be in the right frame of mind to play World of Warcraft, and unfortunately last night was one of those nights for me. Again I apologize.

You are all a great group of people, and I enjoy playing and being a member of the Rising Sun Fellowship. I have never had so much fun playing WoW, and I have played for over six years, as I do here. You all have helped me take this little guttersnipe of a thief to a place I had only hoped to play a character to, and that's been the best experience for me.

So, again, I apologize. I will try not to let it happen again...but slips occur, and I will be cautious in the future. And thanks, thanks for being great people, and helping me to enjoy an old game in a new way.

So I tried to log into this site on my phone yesterday to announce that I wouldn't be on until possibly Friday afternoon (today), and wished to give a heads up to those I was in the middle of scheduling some RP events with. Unfortunately, my phone would not let me post replies, much to my chagrin, and so I apologize for disappearing yesterday

I hope you are all enjoying your summer. I know it is hard to stay in the game when summer activities drag you outside. I will continue to play in the game and hope to see you all at least once in awhile.

Continue to post in Skype when you can and if you are online and want to rp I will be there.

My air conditioning is working again, so I can stand to be in the computer room again. Not certain how many times it needs to be fixed but so far #4 seems to be working. I am planning to be on tonight.

Cy, it's fine. Seriously. Don't worry. I get the same way sometimes, I just deal with it by immersing myself more. Which was what was going on the other night.

Blackmold, it's fine, too. I understand.

Due to Sub time running out I will not be making it on for some time. Getting ready to mover in a few months so my wife has cut me off from spending money on the game for now. Hopefully I'll catch you all when I get back.. You've all been great to RP with, good luck all. I will keep tabs on the thread from time to time to try and keep up with the story.

Dawww, it's unfortunate to see you go. We didn't get a chance to RP together, but I'll always remember you as the Elven ranger who needed to have some curse removal work done. I'm sure we'll be quite thrilled to get you rolling again should a return to the universe be in store for you.

Good luck with the move.

Edit: I hope that latest journal entry isn't too graphic.

Kal, we'll miss you! We hope to see you back sometime soon!

Good job last night everyone, I will not be at the meeting, but I've talked to Cyaer ICly, and he has an excuse to preside, and a reason, and he'll explain however much needs to be explained.

EDIT: Posted for Kel and Vel

I will not be at the meeting, either. Things should hopefully get back on schedule soon so at least some of my Sunday nights are free.

I do hope we are not letting this die. I know summer is hard for people to get together and real life interferes. I have seen some new faces and I think they will be a bit confused if they are invited and then no senior members are online.

I may restart one of my characters. Braendei seems to be redundent. If I just keep Mia as my paladin and start a new character for the challenge it gives me a chance to help the new folks.

Kel'Tira, your plot seems so convoluted. But it looks good.

I will actually have time to get Auxi on more, mostly during the day. Things are calming down a bit but my evenings will be hit or miss.

It is! But that's the beauty of it... It makes sense if you look at it funny. Asky Cyaer, it's already working.

So, here's the point we're at. Velin has come out in the light and attacked Kel as a threat/warning for Cyaer. His next move will be to kidnap Kel and possibly Cyaer.

OOCly I was at an awards banquet last night, ICly Kel was standing before the council of Nobles, whom ruled in her favor and wrote a warrant for Velin.

Uh...is it just my browser, or did the forums get changed up just by a marginal "bit?"

Edit: Also, isn't the cap per thread 20 pages with 20 responses each? If that is the case, then it's looking like we'll have to start a new thread pretty soon.

No, buddy, you're right. My forums are screwed up too. (Edit) Looks like they're fixed now.

And yes, we will probably be going to a new journal thread soon. Hopefully, we can finish Velin by then, and start the next journal thread in another storyline...

By the way, nice journal entries today. Is it just me or is Velin/Kellatira really enjoying being this evil character too much? Maybe it's just me.

If you want, I can have a whole host of assassins on his tail. Cyaer probably could, too :P (jk)

Tonight's the one night I can play earlier, and longer than usual. I'll be on around 6 CST, which is about 4 realm time.

Covert Ops? My forte! I'ld be more than happy to help in this...I'll stay hidden, promise, and my word is my bond. (Where have I heard that before? *grin*)

Friday is my late night, can't get on until around 10-10:30 pm CST/ 8-8:30 realm time. But can usually stay late too.

Okay, in light of recent RP events - I'm looking at you battle settings! - I've gone ahead and come up with a plan for RPing multiple people fighting in one battle. As we all came to realize in Desolace, the bowls of the Undercity, and wherever else a fight may have gone down with multiple people, with all of us trying to get an attack in, things can become extremely hectic very fast. So, aside from creating multiple parties to have their own OOC for battles, and spacing ourselves out to have enough distance so that we're not interfering with one another's chats, I also came up with an idea for keeping our fights better organized in-game.

As it currently stands, 1v1 fighting is the easiest to pull off: one person attacks, both characters roll, and a defense emote is made which includes a counter-attack; thus allowing the fighters to attack one-another in a back-and-forth bout. However, if we're fighting alongside allies, our characters IC wouldn't naturally stand by and wait until they're needed, they'll be trying to help out. in whatever manner they can. This is what I discussed in Skype to get things making sense for 1v2, 1v3, and so on.

----

I agree that counter-attacking should be something involved when we have only two combatants for a 1v1 fight, but realistically, there's no way that would be going on in the situation our characters are faced with. I know that if I were in a WoW, LOTR, or any other such fantasy setting, I wouldn't stand by and watch my friend engage with a 1v1 fight against an enemy when I'm capable of trying to get behind the man and really keep him on his toes: a grapple, kick to the back of the legs, perhaps grab onto his arms, a stab/punch in the back, etc. Logically, it just doesn't make sense for our characters to line up for a series of 1v1 bouts, even for the sake of simplicity.

The second person rolls for a defence immediately, then emotes the result as a defence of what happened, plus a counter attack and rolls again

This manner of RP combat works for 1v1, but for what we're doing by getting at least two combatants to fight one person, 1v2, we need a different system; otherwise it does become a 1v1 attack-and-respond battle. What I suggest, is to simply make things turn-based for the three RPers so that everyone can be involved with the fight naturally.

To do this, all we need to do is remove one step - when somebody attacks, and another player must emote a defense, they simply don't include a counter-attack, just the effect of the assailant's move against them; the counter-attack will be the responsibility of the next person to fulfill. Perhaps, if a defender wins a roll, and wishes to perform a counter-attack in their emote, then all they must simply do is ask OOC in that group's party chat if anybody minds them doing so, this way we don't skip anybody's turn needlessly.

Example:

Blackmold attacks Baelic with a shield slam, and Baelic would emote his defense for that attack. Then, whoever had the next highest roll when it came to establishing turns, would make their emote: if it was Baelic, he would simply include a counter-attack either after the successful hit, or successful parry/dodge/whatever. After he performs his emote (assume he was next to go) then whoever remains to make their attack, would go, and Baelic responds to that manuever.

All we're doing is removing a person's ability to immediately follow-up with a counter-attack, so that we may pace the fight by making it turn-based rather than free-for-all emote battles, or narrowing it down to dueling while another watches. I feel that it may sound confusing as written text, but if we get together and coach a demonstration for how it works in my head, then it will make VASTLY more sense.

Alright, these are the transcripts from after Velin died last night, seen from Kel'tira. I'll be getting on Velin in a few and posting the transcripts of the fight before I finish up a journal entry for Kel.

21:33:09 [Cyaer]: He's dead. It's over.
21:33:14 Kellatira slumps back to the ground.
21:33:15 You lie down.
21:33:15 Baelic stays completely silent, his blade in the earth afront him. His head low, and his eyes to the ground.
21:33:20 Cyaer kneels before you.
21:33:28 [Cyaer]: Kel?...
21:34:00 Auxilia doesn't take her eyes off Baelic as she speaks. "Cyaer, how is she?"
21:34:04 Kellatira remains still, breathing shallowly and covered in cuts, bruises, stab wounds, and all manner of injuries.
21:35:01 Cyaer Attempts to bind some of the wounds....and sees Mia off to the side.
21:35:15 Cyaer kneels before you.
21:35:34 Kellatira groans slightly, twitching, her eyes fluttering open, she screams.
21:35:36 [Cyaer]: Kel, ...Kellatira.
21:35:47 Baelic Her name is Kel'tira
21:35:48 [Cyaer]: No, it's me, Cyaer.
21:36:39 Kellatira struggles to push herself upright and away, failing, crying out again, and then slumping, ""Cyaer...?"
21:37:06 [Cyaer]: Yes, here drink this, it's a potion to heal...perhaps it will help.
21:37:37 Kellatira lifts a hand carefully, fingers shaking.

21:38:49 Auxilia kneels before Baelic.
21:38:50 Cyaer kneels before Karamia.
21:38:59 Baelic stands slowly, keep his eyes low upon the corpse of his previous Master. "Our contract... Is over my Lord..." The words fall slowly from his cold lips as he approaches the body. Leaning down-
21:39:17 Cyaer is overwhelmed as he looks upon her, "M...Mia?"
21:39:33 Baelic -Baelic grips the hair of the man, using his slit throat to his advantage Baelic grinds his teeth as he tears the flesh and removes the mans head, part of his spine still intact.
21:39:44 Auxilia spares a glance at the death knight, the green eyes above her mask looking somewhat nonplussed at Baelic's actions.
21:39:48 Cyaer kneels before Karamia.
21:39:56 Karamia has tears rolling down her face and she is hoarse from yelling encouragement to Cy
21:40:03 Kellatira moans, trying futily to sit up.
21:40:09 [Karamia]: I knew you would come
21:40:19 Baelic stands back up tall, very slowly, the mans bleeding head hanging within' his grasp. Blood dripping from his spine onto the sand below his boots.
21:40:24 Auxilia turns to Kel and speaks quietly, "Rest now. Let the potion work. We'll have you out of here soon."
21:40:35 [Kellatira]: Auxi...
21:40:47 Cyaer attempts to bind some of Mia's more severe wounds. He pulls a potion out, "Drink, Mia.
21:40:49 Kellatira motions Auxilia to lean in closer, her voice little more than a whisper.
21:41:05 [Karamia]: Untie me and I can do some healing my love
21:41:38 Cyaer pulls a knike from his sleeve, and begins cutting at the ropes binding Mia.
21:42:38 Baelic continues to stand silently, his gaze cold and empty as he stares to the stone wall. His figure as still as a statue, the mans head in his grasp. Simply waiting... As if he did not know what was next.
21:42:51 Karamia looks with pride on the young noble and as soon as her hands are free she reaches out to grasp his head only inches away, kissing him on the lips
21:42:55 Auxilia looks at Baelic. "I don't suppose that you know the way out?"
21:43:21 [Blackmold]: What is this death knight still doing alive?!
21:43:37 Cyaer kisses Karamia, softly. He holds he close, and weeps.
21:43:49 Auxilia glances at Elron. "He just stopped fighting when Velin died. He has been standing there ever since."
21:43:52 Blackmold looks down at the head in Baelic's hands. "What...is going on here?"
21:43:58 [Blackmold]: He just stopped?
21:44:03 Auxilia nods.
21:44:06 Tislina kneels down.
21:44:19 Blackmold moves in front of Baelic, staring the fellow Undead in the eyes.
21:44:28 Karamia hugs Cyaer and lets him compose himself, "Cyaer is a true noble, he has vanquished evil"
21:44:28 [Tislina]: How is everone?
21:44:30 [Blackmold]: How does freedom taste, death knight?
21:44:33 Auxilia reaches out to take one of Kel's hands, the other supports her shoulder to help her sit up.
21:45:05 Kellatira slowly comes upright, crying out once, her face marred by bruises and tear tracks written in the grime.
21:45:05 Cyaer wipes his eyes, "A noble? I'm just a thief."
