Taelanas had taken great interest in organizing the library when they moved. Often, he wound up taking a tome to his room and, judging from the candlelight gleaming under the door, read through the night.
One morning he came down into the dining hall with a well-worn, leather bound book under his arm. He laid it on the table and poured a cup of coffee.
Gentyl was pleading with the cook to be allowed to cook her own eggs, but the cook, like everyone else, had a strict policy about letting Gentyl cook. "You tell me what you want and I get it. Stay out of kitchen."
Gentyl huffed. "This is ridiculous." She strode into the kitchen, immediately triggering Disco's kitchen bots which surrounded her, blaring their annoying sirens. She sighed and returned tot he table. "Blasted gnome. Two eggs over medium, fried potatoes, ham and biscuits."
The cook removed her hands from her ample hips and nodded. "That's better. I'll get you some oatmeal and fruit. You're putting on weight."
"I hate oatmeal."
Gentyl glared at the cook who let Taelanas pass the sacred doorway and get some more coffee. "Can I at least have some more coffee?"
Taelanas returned with the pot and refilled her cup. "Sepha, I found some interesting information in one of these tomes. It refers to some relics. Most of them are holy, some are objects of power."
"Really?" Gentyl sipped her coffee and sighed. She could smell ham cooking. Taelanas got ham, but not her.
He nodded. "I'm not sure of the translation, but I think one of them was a chalice that belonged to Uther and was said to be enchanted with great power. I could be wrong, part of the page is missing. Regardless, it's an object of power and I think we should try to find it. The book also mentions several other objects that were lost during the sacking of Stormwind. I think we should try to recover them."
"I agree. Let's set the Guards to looking."
The cook returned to the dining room with a platter filled with two eggs, fried potatoes, ham, biscuits and some sliced melon. "You're eating oatmeal tomorrow, though."
"Thanks, Matilda."
The cook turned to Taelanas. "I'll bring your oatmeal out, sir, but you need to be eating more. You're getting thin."
"So," Gentyl said between bites, "a hunt for relics?"
Taelanas was stirring brown sugar and cinnamon into his oatmeal a look of pure bliss on his face. "Aye, Sepha. The sooner we find them, the better."
((So, here's the deal. In 2006 we had a relics search. It stirred up a lot of rp for various guilds. Pia will probably have an on going search for a long time, but we're tossing out the idea for anyone else who wants to join in. How you do it is entirely up to you. I will occasionally have an old woman in the Recluse knitting. You can present items you've found to her and she may give you another clue to lead you to something else or she may give you a false clue sending you on a wild goose chase.
Unfortunately, with my recent hard drive crash, I am trying to recover eight months of research and writing, so I will not have time to do extensive write ups or really run this as a dungeon master. I will be re-using some things Roark did the last time, plus a few new things, but I don't have time to set up a detailed campaign. I'm just tossing this out there as something you all may wish to get involved in to stir up some rp in your guilds.
It's also possible for horde to get involved. If you can use it, please do so. RP should be for everyone.))
