I saw a thread and was also pointed in the direction of this server for RP. So I'm giving it a shot.
I actually am quite a bit rusty with RP and didn't get too deep the last time I was able to RP due to the guild I was in falling apart =(
Anyhow, I had a couple questions about roleplaying and such and the story I'm thinking of using along with professions. I've also got a couple questions about Addons people on this server use. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

First off, thanks for checking us out! Since from what you've said, you seem to already know a bit about the server in general, so I'll skip right to answering your questions.

Background-wise, don't start with a complex story for your character, start with something simple and elaborate upon it if you wish.

As for professions commonly used with Rp, the most common I've seen are engineering, tailoring, and alchemy.

Addons are something I personally opt not to use, but I know quite a few that use My Roleplay and Total Roleplay 2.

And last of all, welcome to the server! Be sure to check us out at out chat channels, allianceOOC (Or hordeOOC) and hearthstone (HearthstoneIC? I dunno, I'm not in that channel.) Have fun, and beware of frying pans! ;)

As for the story I'm not going too elaborate, but with that being said I am doing a warlock and not going with the purely evil aspect. More of a klutzy whoops! aspect.
I was thinking along the lines of engineering, inscription, or alchemy since she tends to get into trouble alot by not looking into things but always experimenting and well screwing things up granted even though things do backfire, sometimes that backfire tends to work if you know what I mean.

Trying to tell Ragefang to stop stealing pants is like trying to tell a Modas to stop being evil.

So, Lutesa, roll a worgen (or Kaldorei, Gilnean human, or random mercenary) and poke in for my guild! We're small, but good with newbies. And we don't have pant-stealers. We center around Gilneas and are a millitary organisation named Lordneas.
As the Whacker of DOOM said, TRP2 and MRP are great addons, but there's plenty more great ones.

If you're new to RP, you can also try the channel RPNewbies. Friendly bunch in there who'd be glad to answer any questions you have.

There's also cenarioncircle.org , as a kind of database with various guilds and characters, as well as in character blogs and a forums back away from all the hub-bub here if you'd like. You can jump right into the RP there on the forums, or perhaps find a guild to your liking, too!

Appreciate it... now I tried TRP2 earlier but can't really figure out how to read other characters stories, I do have MRP and Flagrsp2 from before and I updated them. Not sure what clashes with what though.

I personally use TRP2.

I'm also going to echo what Tyrynna said about story: start with something simple, and go from there. More importantly: don't let one or two characteristics completely define your character.

If you ever think about joining Horde side for rp, I have a lovely guild full of imaginative rpers who are happily joining in the guild storyline. We welcome anyone who likes rp and even welcome newbies and get them involved.

Basic premise of the guild is the return to the Glory of the Sindorei, but we have a lot of non BE characters as well. We started out as a rp challenge group to make it to 85 without dying and rping the whole way. We have a Journal and OOC thread on World's End Tavern forums and welcome all interested to join us even if you are not a challenger.
