I transferred about 3-4 days ago and thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Ryan. A little about why I'm playing a female toon. On my old server (Grizzly Hills), we just pved alot, so gender didn't really matter. I went from a male Dwarf to a Female Human.
When I changed, I had no intention of leaving Grizzly Hills, but alas. I switched a day after.

Now I'm stuck as a female toon and I can't really just change genders as I understand it would be a RP no no.

Anyhow, hello :)

As far as the female toon thing, trust me, the RP community here is more than willing to work with a mid-character concept change. This character started off as a female draenei, and I made the change to worgen when Cataclysm launched, and that was even after I had started the RP concept for my guild (which has since changed as well, including the guild name). If you're new to the realm, there's a chance you aren't too entrenched in your concept yet, so you're more than welcome to change if you like. We'll love you either way. ;)

Unless you make yourself unlovable. Then we'll feed you to the Penalty Gnome. No one wants that.

So if you want to spend the money (you'd have to do a race change, and then just change to a male human; you get a free name change with a race change), have at it, and be who you want to be, then start RPing with us!

And also, there's plenty of people running around here RPing the other gender, so I don't see much reason to switch unless you really want to.

This character started off as a pacifist! And now shes a maniacle psychopathic orc woman that doesnt take !@#$ from anybody! Oh, and she's schitzophrenic..

You could change genders BEFORE you started RPing. Although I have known the odd person to chalk the change up to a magical potion or curse, if you want to try it that way. Or just say it's a new character entirely (even if it's not).

Of course, you shouldn't feel like you have to RP a character that's the same gender as you are. I am, in fact, a woman, yet all my RP characters have been men. (Except that one druid...but we don't talk about her, she was kinda crazy....)

True story: back in Classic, when I was playing a Paladin named Callyria (I was Retribution during Molten Core... *shudder*), people in my guild were so shocked that I was actually a guy that "Cally's a DUDE!" became a guild rallying cry. *SIGH*

Bwahaha, the reaction never gets old, I tell you. Apparently I RP a guy very convincingly...

It's never too late to change your mind, we'll work with ya! But as you can see, it's also perfectly acceptable to RP someone not of your actual gender.

Play whatever you wish. If you want to change genders do and just say you're a brother or something. Honestly, don't worry about it. Most rpers aren't that uptight especially if you're just starting out.
