((Just a short blurb. Not going to be longer than these two posts. Also, props to Kaerina/Bhayne for the title suggestion.))
The news had struck the girl twice, now. The first time, her new, adoptive mother had informed her that her favorite ragdoll, Vinnie, had gone missing. She had been informed that Raoul had returned to their caves in Mulgore, and had seen no sign of the blue ragdoll. The second time, Bhayne had contacted her. She had been at the clinic, and had found out that the doll had fallen into the hands of Modas. Only bad things would happen from that – Akuzul would eat him, or hex him. Thelinna and Kaerinna would place numerous horrible curses. Sekhesmasomethin' would say horribly mean things to him. Little ragdolls could not survive long in such horrible places without someone to protect them. Plus, he knew all her secrets. He would never spill them, but she feared what torture they would put him through to find out her location.
All of this ran through the young girl's mind as she heard the horrifying news from Bhayne. The hearthstone in her hand dropped to the ground. She looked up, seeing Kordrion slightly looming over her. Her first instinct was to run. Run, and swim, since they had been exploring underwater. She took a few steps, about to follow her instincts to sneak into the Modas sanctum to retrieve Vinnie. But she felt a hand come down on her shoulder, soothing her only a little. Lynnie dropped to her knees, sulking. She knew how important the dollie was, though she doubted anyone else understood. The woman who had adopted her before, Lariana Bloodmorn, had given her this doll. Even before she had been adopted, the woman had shown her a kindness she had never felt before. And now, it was named after the man who had taken her under his wing to teach her his craft.
'Vinnie. Vith and Lynnie.' The small girl thought. The name had been Suni's suggestion, and she loved it. She had barely known Suni then, but it didn't take much for her to be pulled into the pure kindness the woman offered her. It was like having a mama again.
She was pulled back to reality by Kordrion. She knew he was trying to distract her, and it worked for a while. They went hunting for hermit crabs, capturing one and naming it 'Crabrion'. But she returned back to Stormwind, and she still felt empty without her little blue ragdoll.
All night, she stayed awake, not even able to settle her mind enough to meditate. Lynnie worried, her eyes wide open as she stared up at the stars from the Stormwind Docks. She knew she wasn't supposed to go and seek out Modas. Suni and Vith repeatedly told her, no, they would go find Vinnie once this is all over. But knowing where he was now did not make it any easier.
'I'll get you back, Vinnie. I promise.'
