Roleplay Classes

We discussed this a few months ago. I know a lot of people are still busy exploring new content, but I've run into a lot of people who are new to rp.

I'd like to set up a (probably once a month) rp class on the first Saturday of the month. If the classes need to extend over to the second Saturday of the month that would work also.

This would be open to the world, of course. Anyone who wishes to teach a section about role play would be more than welcome.

We have the teachers for the first class. Imperon and Meijin of Lluchduu Ocheliad, Jhayden of Stormwind City Watch, (possibly Veat of Holy Rose Monastery), Feroux of the Exiles of Azeroth, and Lhorwind of Terra Incognita.

Lhorwind will be teaching turn based rp combat. If we don't have time to finish it all the first Saturday, it will carry over to the second one.

This is, of course, open to all, youngsters and more experienced alike.

We will also be giving bags and equipment to the little ones. Anyone who would like to help with that would be greatly appreciated. The intent is to not only help new people to rp, but also to give various guilds some good exposure so this is truly a server event.

Emoting

IC vs OOC

Character backstory

RP addons

Turn based rp fights

Etiquette

Communication

Differences between walk up rp and story driven rp and how to do both

Thanks to everyone who came to the classes. The teachers were great. The interaction was great. It was all very interesting. We will finish up next Saturday. Please plan to attend.

Also, taking teachers for next month. This is a server event, not a guild event, so all are welcome.

I'm certainly game, if you're needing more folks. Just need the dates, to clear with work.

Kujia the Vindicator,
Cernon and Ryou.

I'll be game for it. It will bring me back into full swing of RP and get me to remember the basics myself.

Rage, I'll put you down for November. I'm really glad to see so many people stepping up. It was a really interesting class Saturday and such good participation.

We had a bit of confusion on the RP class today and what to discuss, so we threw together an impromptu RP class for those who were expecting it today. We had a nice turnout, small group, and with the help of some great speakers in Paden (discussing RP looks and gear), myself (stressing communication and flexibility), and Ghostkitty discussing RP Add ons, we had a nice session.

I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes, but there seemed to be a fair bit of interest so we forged ahead. I'm sure these topics can be re-approached at a more formal RP class session. That said, the speakers did a wonderful job.

Thanks to Aetherus, Glormon, Shiapoli, Taelanas, Torix, Akermas, the above noted, and anyone else I forgot, for coming and supporting.

Since we missed the first rp class of the month last week. (Funny how December just creeps up on you.) Today will be the fist class of the month. It is at the gazebo behind the cathedral at 2:00pm server time. These classes are always interesting, even for experienced rpers due to the conversations.

I invite all to attend and if you'd like to teach, let me know.

Profound thanks to Orwyn for speaking about working with law enforcement in a roleplay environment and Duessel for talking about roleplayed fights.

Once again, I am really surprised at how much I enjoy these classes. Having excellent volunteers and audience participation make this a truly enjoyable event.

Thanks again, guys. Great job.

We'll finish up this month's classes next week.
