[H-RP Event] Sermons on the Forgotten Shadow

Some say that if we -believe- we are being watched over and that there is always something which provides us with answers to significant questions about our existence, that we do not need to fear the unknown.

Which basically means that, as long as a faith provides us with answers, we would not need to question it's truth.

We believe that questions need to be asked and as such, it is our joy and privilege to bring the faith of the Forgotten Shadow closer to the Forsaken community and help to understand more about the many truths hidden in the dark.

Brothers and Sisters in faith and all those not yet aware of the one truth... If I may introduce myself, I am Lucas Tenebraeus van Bruyden, generally referred to as “Father Lucas.”

As a cleric and avid follower of the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow, I feel it to be important to nurture the festering faith slowly awakening in the putrid hearts of our brethren.

As we walked to the edge of all that is known and decided that it is time for us go beyond it, we discovered that we have to first take a step into the darkness of the unknown before reaching salvation.

The dark manifestation of our ancient will awaited us within, ready to be discovered by those willing to -know- that this first step would teach us how to fly.

May it be gouged into our flesh and seared into our minds: We are free.

In order to spread the word and to find more healthy minds among the crooked, the Sermons on the Forgotten Shadow will continue to contaminate Forsaken territory with one unshakable fact:

The truth is in the Shadow, the Shadow within us all.

Father Lucas.

(( A short word about the Sermons on the Forgotten Shadow. An ongoing, bi-monthly RP event.

The sermons are interactive in nature. You are not required to stand still and bore yourself to death. Speak, emote, or interrupt when you feel that it would be appropriate for your character. Input from the audience is always welcome, though never mandatory. It's also perfectly acceptable to just be part of the audience if you choose.

CRZ guests are welcome. Please reply here if you need an invite in order to phase over.

Please keep anything OOC in the raid group we'll set up for each event. In addition to preventing disruption of the RP immersion, the raid group helps us locate and identify who we're responding to in the large crowd. It also helps insure that we remember your name when compiling the invite list for the next event.

Please refrain from using the sermons as a means to advertise your own events or recruit for your guild.

Please follow this thread for updates. Future events, times, hosts and locations as well as cancellations will be posted here.

Calendar:

Date and Time:November 8th, 7:30pm WrA ST
Location: Deathknell
Hosts: Tenebraeus (Father Lucas), Irkingu, Morothen

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please read further OOC information by Irkingu in the following reply.))

Greetings, Wyrmrest Accord.

After a brief hiatus to plan the next phase of this continually-evolving event, Tenebraeus and I are excited to announce that we've once again managed to raise the bar for the RP experience we've now had the privileged of sharing with the community for over two years. Never content to rest on our laurels, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible within this otherwise familiar format to make it bigger, newer, and more engaging. The sermons will retain the same deep philosophical debates, lore-compliant history lessons, and morbid humor everyone's come to expect, but as we experiment with new approaches, you can also look forward to more interactive player-driven activities, rituals, games, challenges, and surprises.

The event will remain equally suitable for new RPers and veterans, and every effort will be made to keep the alternating locations accessible to players of all levels.

While the event is still primarily Forsaken-themed, we've progressed a long way since the days when the sermons were delivered in the Forsaken language to cater exclusively to the undead crowd. Breathers are welcome and encouraged to participate, though be advised that we will not provide protective facial gear and are not responsible in the unlikely event that someone should contract an unfortunate and entirely unforeseen medical condition as a result of their attendance.

Anyone is welcome to wander in, but contacting one of us in advance will get you one of our highly practical calendar invites. Locations will be changing on a regular basis to accommodate the unique theme of each individual event. Summons can be provided. I know a guy.

We're always open to collaboration, so contact us if you're interested in conducting your own sermon, lecture, ritual, or what have you.

We look forward to seeing all of you there.

Embrace the Shadow.

The sermon will be held at the Brill Cemetery this weekend.

Come one, come all.

The truth is in the Shadow, after all.

"There was no pause. He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence, moving from topic to topic, so that no one had a chance to interrupt; it was really quite hypnotic."

Are you referring to something specific? Do you have a complaint about my sermons, hm? HM?

I do agree though...- I suppose they are

Tenebraeus is getting ready to begin. I'll be hanging out at the old location for the first few minutes to catch anyone who doesn't know we've moved.

Thanks so much for attending tonight's event, everyone. It was a huge crowd, lots of GREAT RP and so, so much fun.

I apologize for the two disconnects you had to endure during the Q&A. Most people were gone when we got back after the second time, I will contact everyone I was whispering with before the d/c via in-game mail.
We've got a lot to discuss!

Thanks a lot for supporting this event.

See you again in two weeks!

Not only was that one of the largest crowds we've ever had, but it was the best RP I've experienced in several months. You are all wonderful, and I mean that from the bottom of my blackened, unbeating heart.
Sorry about the disconnects. Tenebraeus and I will have a better internet service provider in time for the next sermon.

No reason to apologize. All RP experiences are valuable and appreciated. No matter if it's many different people at once or just one or two.

I enjoyed the RP and I am glad that I could contribute to the character progression.

:)

I'm gonna log on later to fish that URL out of my WIM history :) Sorry for the d/c at the end again. Our ISP is not reliable at all at the moment.

It's ok. I had another event to scram to. I started working on it on my previous post.
http://pastebin.com/riMth4j9 is a pastebin dump of the log. It's a bit too long for the tumblrs.

If you want to reblog/spread it:

Warning: My tumblr is full of cat pictures and asinine RP blathering... but mostly cat pictures.

I'm not much of an RPer, but I do love shadow priests and the lore surrounding them! I'm sad I missed this event and I'd like to make an effort to come to the next one! :D (Even if all I do is stand around being shadowy and possibly emoting at appropriate times, hehe.)

Sadly I missed this. And unsure if I'll be able to make the next one.

Ah well... There will always be -next- next time.
