they started mergers at least a year ago, and sisters of elune hasn't had any attention. I don't understand why they can't at least change capital city ah's to be cross faction. It may not make sense in terms of theme, but at least it'd get the economy back up.

There's another thread on this server that has the latest information on SoE's server merge, which yes, is from over a month ago. There's been no news since.

As for Auction houses, you're in luck, they recently announced that AHs everywhere will be cross-faction in WoD.

Not to be the killjoy here, but WoD is probably not for AT LEAST another two months. Maybe closer to three. (Best guess, it'll probably be out before the 10th anniversary in November. Fingers crossed!) Somewhere before that - within maybe 3-4 weeks of release - is probably when they impliment the pre-expansion systems patch, MAYBE another event like the Dark Portal thing for BC. Again, fingers crossed.

2-3 months is a hell of a lot of time to wait...so understandably, people choose not to. Can you blame them?

There's no telling if or when they'll finally merge us with Cenarion Circle. They had a date scheduled to do so, postponed that and then eventually took us off the list altogether. Each week I see more and more servers being connected...kind of frustrating. I feel like we're just being swept under the rug because there's really no money in connecting 2 low population realms...Although they have been doing just that for quite a while now. I've heard that one reason for the "delay" is a geographical issue. Still scratching my head over that one. All summed up though, the situation sucks. I hope we do eventually merge, but who knows? Blizzard sure knows how to make a realm feel left out.

The date was listed as any time "before December 20". In other words, any time before the first day of winter. With the expansion in beta only the last two weeks or so, we're looking at (hopefully) another 2-3 months, so Octoberish. That's my guess anyway; it could go sooner or later.

My guess is that they postponed more merges since WOD is coming out, and they don't know how many people will be returning. They want to be sure to have enough servers with low population to soak up the extras.

Also they are merging the AH's. So I think they probably just postponed it until they see what happens.

My guild leader has a hunch that it also has to do with raid progression...and that perhaps CC is further along??? Is that possible? I was hoping to get to play with all the SoE'rs /fingers crossed

I'm not sure if Blizz would halt the connection due to a difference in raid progression of the servers. However, I would not be surprised if CC is further along than SoE but I honestly am not that informed about the progression of either server.

I have my doubts it has anything to do with raid progression. I feel like we're so far into the cycle that it would be a non-issue now. Neither of these servers have many hard-core raiders. They probably would have moved somewhere else by now, I'd think.

I have a feeling there might have been some technical issues, otherwise it would still be on the "soon" list. No idea what the problem could be, but there's clearly some behind the scenes stuff that needs to go on beyond just flipping a switch, or all of the merges would probably be done by now. So, I think some weird technical thing that happens when you merge two servers into one caused a hiccup.

Blizzard's ongoing Connected Realms process not only connects realms together, but is also consolidating the 4 datacenters down into just 2. As New York datacenter realms get connected, they get moved to the Chicago datacenter. As Phoenix dc realms get connected, they get moved to Los Angeles dc. IPs, battlegroups, and even some timezones get changed.

So we won't be connected to Cenarian Circle as they are still in Phoenix. My guess is that we will be connected to Blackwater Raiders/Shadow Council OR Farstriders/Silver Hand/Thorium Brotherhood as they are both in the Los Angeles DC.

I guess at this point I'd cast my dice with Blackwater Raiders. We are already CRZed with them and they are a small RP server like us.

Granted, I'd still love to end up getting connected to CC.

Actually I think the connection to CC may still be a go. They are shutting CC down tomorrow to move the server to the LA datacenter. So, probably, this means shortly SoE could be connected to it. <crosses fingers>
