[H-RP Event] A gathering of Forsaken

* A new piece of parchment is nailed over an old rotted one near the Inn of every Forsaken town and haunt. The words on it are written in Orcish with the text starting with a large letter... "Brethren in death, fellow Horde, the gathering of Forsaken souls is taking place once again. Forsaken all over the realm notice the increase in activity, the enriching of our culture, and the interconnectedness of our society. For this last gathering we will continue the discussion about Sylvanas but this time in regards to East Plaguelands. In Silverpine all who shared help to prove the events there are not a sign of a darker path, for the next one I will present the events as something to worry about in this regard.

On the evening of December 30th (Wednesday) at 7:30pm (server) join us near the broken statue in the ruins of Lordaeron. We will discuss what affect the power of the Val'kyr have over our Dark Lady, we will debate what path Sylvanas is or is not currently walking down."

* at the bottom of the page there is some text written in words common among Forsaken lands..." We will also be leaving the Ruins of Lordaeron for this one to visit the sights of our subject. Also, as members of the undead we should try not to be overly emotional during this event. We will absolutely not tolerate any non Forsaken who claims our Dark Lady to be a Lichqueen. Make note of them so we may teach them more respect in our special way, after the gathering is over."

OOC
((The gathering is an open event that focuses on Forsaken issues, the night's topic will be on certain aspects of the Forsaken community or current events in the Forsaken realm. As always, all who gather with us may share their own experiences or perspective as well. Perhaps you know of happenings that we failed to observe ourselves, in this way we will all have a better picture of our society. After the reporting, we will then debate or discuss the night's topic. It's the audience that we do this for so if you have suggestions for topics then we would love to hear them.

Heed the herald, be respectful to the other Horde races who might be there, and who ever has the floor will be allowed to speak their piece to completion. Of coarse questions are allowed and those sharing may choose to answer or not. Pst or mail myself for calendar invites.))

Date and time: Dec 30th at 7:30pm server
Location: Statue in the ruins of Lordaeron
Night's topic: debate what path our Lady was or wasn't on. (Last half)

Thank you Kirsey : )

Silveko, perhaps the only Forsaken I need a translator for. You guys going to host an event for the 13 nights of hollows end? If you guys sell more meat, I hope it would be on sale.

Nearing the night of the Forsaken gathering in the ruins of Lordaeron, thin parchment pages can be seen nailed on pillars along broken streets and through out ruined stalls of once great Lordaeron. The text is short, starting with a different enlarged letter...

" A few of my brethren will not know how to speak Orcish, still most of the gathering will be easily understood by all in the Horde. If however you feel the need to know more, then one can pay for a translator or simply ask for aid. Both would require some trust of what is said between the two souls, a small act such as that over many places would wield a starting point. A point from which the Horde can better understand us, so that they can trust us." The last line is written in letters seen in the Undercity. "We ask that any Forsaken who will be attending and has the ability to translate at the event, be willing to aid our Horde counterparts if they require. This is a simple request and is not a requirement to attend."

Thank you. judge us gently as we strive to keep the bias out of what we report. This is our first attempt at news so it might be dry in parts. We feel however that so long as we have even one other soul in the gathering share, then we will have spice and more of it with others. The same formula we use for the past gatherings should work just as well for this. We provide the substance, the crowd provides the flavor. In this way we are gathered and we can suffer well.

Thank you guys for coming. Next month will be the next gathering, I am not going to do news again. It was a fun time but I would need time to polish it better, best stick with what's easer. We will post a couple weeks out. We are thinking of a possible topic for the next one being on the current state of Northrend. Please drop any other Forsaken related topics for us to choose from for the next gathering.

I wonder what has been going on in Northrend. Do the undead wonder around or attack aimlessly? Is there an upstart Necromancer trying to control a host of them? Are they dying out or growing in numbers, ether on their own or through a master lich?

Perhaps we should check the current state of Northrend.

According to Wowpedia, a few interesting things are mentioned:

"By the time of the Cataclysm, the Scourge is little more than a shell of its former power in Lordaeron. The Lich King is dead, the Scourge command structure all but wiped out, and the remaining legions of undead held in check by Bolvar's sacrifice. However, there are still sizable Scourge forces in the Plaguelands of Lordaeron who continue to serve their now-dead master."

"With Bolvar's control over the remaining Scourge masses, and it being unlikely that he would permit another undead invasion, all remaining hostile Scourge posts are notably run by members of the Cult of the Damned, who had always retained their free will during their service."

"With Arthas' defeat and Fordragron's ascendancy as the new Lich King, it is unknown what the new command structure of the Scourge is or will be in the future. Of particular interest is what will happen with the Cult of the Damned and how they will react to the new Lich King, or if they are even yet aware of the change in leadership."

I'm interested in what happened to the shards of Frostmourne. I'm sure they'll come into play at some point.

(( Interesting, perhaps that could be a primes for RPing in Northrend for need to investigate "increased Cult activities". Because if we don't know about Bolvar, would they be made aware of his presence before we find out?

Thank you Lelantas for the information and the idea. My question was more IC though. I do believe that ICly we the public would not know about the decision made up at the throne. I thought maybe we would officially be told that the LK is truly dead and the Scourge left overs would be aimless. Which is actually them being chained by Bolvar, a thing we don't know. Like the pact Sylvanas made with the Val'kyr. ICly no one was there, no?))

(( Perhaps other inquiring minds would love to find out as well. Maybe we can RP hunting for them, finding and solving clues one night, fighting treasure hunters another. Would we ever find them?...I'm sure they'll come into play at some point.))
