Hello there!
<CSI Undercity> is currently openly recruiting new members.
To get a good idea of who we are, feel free to browse our website (www.csiundercity.com). We are a PvE focused, semi-casual raiding/social guild.
PvE focused means our main goal is to explore PvE content. We don’t actively PvP or actively organize PvP events as a guild, but allow members to form such events and, if asked, we will generally add your PvP event to the calendar.
Semi-casual raiding means we like to enjoy raids, we organize raids and, while we don’t require raid participation to be in the guild, we take our raids seriously. Casual means we are a fun, rambunctious group. We like to chit-chat during trash (and during bosses on farm). We sometimes act silly. We joke. We cajole. We enjoy the time. Semi-casual means we like to make solid progression, and often this means discussing what caused a wipe and/or who caused a wipe. We will not baby you. If you make a mistake that causes a wipe, you will be told about it. Not in a mean, jerkish way, but in a matter-of-fact way. Not to make you feel stupid, but to help you correct the issue so it doesn’t happen again. If it is too much for you when your mistakes are pointed out in a raid setting, our raids aren’t for you. If your performance is consistantly bad, there may come a point where we have to say “Sorry, but we just can’t bring you to raids anymore.” We also have attendance rules for raids, including penalties for signing up then not showing up, and/or excessive AFKs outside scheduled breaks (unavoidable circumstances like crying babies aside).
Social means we have a lively guild chat, like to see lots of faces online at a time, and like to spontaneously group up for just about anything. We run a just-for-fun Old Skool Nite every week to explore previous expansions’ content.
As a guild, we are currently level 10. We usually reach about half the daily cap on weekdays, and usually cap out during the weekends. This will probably pick up as we get more 85s for running guild regulars, guild heroics, and eventually raids (One guild heroic is worth about 10-20% of the daily cap, depending on the number of bosses). We have about 20-25 active members, with about 14-16 people online during peak hours. Our guild bank is usually quite full of herbs, ore, gems, and enchanting materials. It’s fairly empty right now, as everyone is levelling their professions, but once the transition phase into Cataclysm is fully over with, the guild bank will quickly fill back up. We always offer free enchants for guildies, because most of the guild is very good about donating BoE greens for disenchantment.
For raiding, we are exclusively a 10-man guild, mostly because the two major raid leaders, myself and Xindor, don’t like leading 25-mans at all. We use Suicide-Kings for loot disbursement (mainly to keep loot distrubution consistant across multiple weeks).
We don’t have a formal application process. We do have a 7-day informal probationary period (mostly to keep at bay the types who join only to beg for runs, partake of the guild bank, and then leave after a few days). At the end of the 7-day period, provided we feel you’re fitting in, we promote to the basic rank. Of note is that fact that we have only ever had one probationary member removed from guild because they just didn’t fit in (and he was a collossal asshat). It also bears mentioning that we discourge recruitment of members under the age of 17, as many of our members prefer a more mature atmosphere that adolescent tomfoolery and drama tends to spoil.
If you’re interested in joining us, contact Xindor, Aziarathia, or Surehoof in-game. We’ll conduct a short interview, and a guild invite will probably be on your way shortly thereafter.
Xindor’s alts: Stalwrench, Vewdew, Quaide
Aziarathia’s alts: Priandra, Galadelwin
Surehoof’s alts: Finnicks, Truehorn, Rachion
We look forward to hearing from you,
Surehoof Mistrunner
